  • Using Office 2007 extension (i.e. docx) for skin based On-Screen keyboard.

    Hi guys, I'm creating a On-Screen keyboard for my application, and it supports skins as well. Here's what I'm doing with the skins, I have a folder which contains some images and a xml file which maps the images to the keyboard, I want to be able to have the folder as a zip file like in Office 2007 (.docx) and iPhone firmwares (.ipsw), I know I can simply zip the folder and change the extension, what I need to know is how to read the files in the code.     My organisiation uses Sharepoint for its 'intranet'. I have been given the task of creating a site for my department. One of the things I need on there is a procedure guide, which is basically a 150 page document, whereby each page is a separate procedure. Is there an efficient way within sharepoint that these procedures can be stored and searchable somehow, rather than dumping a 150 page document on there?

  • Which is better practice: complex SQL statements or Recordset manipulation in Access VBA?

    I'm doing some VBA development and I found creating SQLs quite efficient way of getting everything done (selecting and updating). But I got to this stage where my SQL statements contain complex Switches and WHERE conditions where I have another Selects to update appropriate records. Therefore, I create this SQLs and I simply run it via "CurrentDb.Execute strSQL" and it does everything fine. The question is, why would I declare ADODB.connections etc, set recordsets, loop through it and manipulate the data one by one?

  • DataGridViewComboBoxCell inactive item painting

    Hi All, We're trying to alter the DataGridViewComboBoxCell so that when the user expands the dropdown menu, inactive items are displayed in grey text. I've found out how to do this by creating a new object, which inherits from DataGridViewComboBoxEditingControl. The problem with this, is that I'm not sure how to tell the comboBoxCell, or column, to use this EditingControl, when the user clicks on the cell. Any ideas?

    Hi Everybody, I have saved a site as tempalte (i.e. MyMarketing.stp) and added to sharepoint server using stsadm addtemplate command and after few days lost MyMarketing.stp file. Now it is available for creating top level sites as well. I want to get this site template back as MyMarketing.stp file. Is it possible to extract it from the server as MyMarketing.stp file? I've looked in Nant and Nantcontrib docs but no mention of encryption. I am considering going the route of creating my own Nant Task. Any suggestions?

    hi there, I find the LOC (lines of code) metric a simple but nice metric to get an overview of software codebase complexity (see also blog-entry 'implications of lines-of-code'). I wondered how many of you out there are using this metric as a centric part for retrospective (for removing unused functionality or dead code). I think creating awareness that more lines-of-code mean more complexity in maintenance and extension is valuable.

    Hello, I am creating an custom preference which contains an EditText. The problem is when user clicks the EdiText for input suggestion box opens up and EditText looses focus. When EditText is clicked again for input, no problem occurs until 'blank space' is entered, which results in suggestion box and hence loss of focus. What I mean by suggestion box is the box which pops up when entering text in EditText
