  very new to nhibernate. I'm a little confused on where features should live. I have the following solution 1) MyProject.Web ( web forms application) 2) MyProject.Domain( class lib) - nhibernate.config - product.hbm.xml So is it correct I should put the following method in a IHttpModule? ( i can't use a global asax as it's use by the CMS i'm running ) Where should the connectionString live? • Cast an instance of a class to a @protocol in Objective-C

  I have an object (a UIViewController) which may or may not conform to a protocol I've defined. I know I can determine if the object conforms to the protocol, then safely call the method: if([self.myViewController conformsToProtocol:@protocol(MyProtocol)]) { [self.myViewController protocolMethod]; // <-- warning here } However, XCode shows a warning: warning 'UIViewController' may not respond to '-protocolMethod' What's the right way to prevent this warning? I can't seem to cast self.myViewController as a MyProtocol class. Update Andy's answer below is close, but includes an unneccesary '*'. • Question about a http form GET method, using query arguments

  I am looking at a bug in WebSVN where when I get into a file log and click on compare, it looses the repository name as part of the request. The details are unimportant. However, I've tracked down the bug to a http form that looks like this: <form method="get" action="comp.php?repname=Binaries&amp;" id="compare"> .... <input type="hidden" name="KEY" value="VALUE"> Is this supposed to work? Will both the "repname" argument, specified as part of the URL, and the hidden value be sent? It seems Chrome 4.1 only sends the hidden argument, and removes the repname parameter altogether. Is this correct? I fixed it temporarily, pending more information, by adding another hidden field for repname with the same value, and now everything works, I'm just wondering if Chrome or WebSVN is in fault here.

• Best method to compress JSON string in term of performance and compress radio

  For a JSON string, contains all kinds of settings, numbers, string etc. Total JSON string fairly fall into 10k~50K range. I want to compress it before save to database. So I wonder which compress method should I choose, I am using c# 4, I know I can choose gzip and deflate but the compression radio is not good (although speed is good). More specific, compress can be a little slow (since only once) but should be small. Decompress should be lighting fast since decompress happens lots. Please give some advice.

Sorry for the lame example, but hopefully you get the idea. Is there a way to constrain the enum values that PeelFruit will accept? Obvisouly I could check them in the method with a switch or something, but it would be cool if there was a way to do it that is a) a bit more compact, and b) would cause a compile time error, not a run time error. • Javascript onclick stops working, multiple dynamically created divs.

  I have run into a strange problem, i am creating a lot of dynamically divs. And i recently found out that some of my divs doesn't fire the onclick event? All the divs are created using the same template, so why are some not working? Most of the time, its the 4-5 from the bottom. If you click on one of the others and then try again, you might get one of those to trigger. But only sporadically. • Recording object method calls to generate automated test.

  I have an object with large interface and I would like to record all its method calls done during a user session. Ideally this sequence of calls would be available as source code: myobj.MethodA(42); myobj.MethodB("spam", false); ... I would then convert this code to a test case to have a kind of automated smoke/load test. WCF Load Test can do this for WCF services and CodedUI test recorder can do this for UIs. What are my options for a POCO class? I am in position to edit application code and replace the object in question with some recording/forwarding proxy.

• Prefered method for looping sound flash as3

  Hi there, I'm having some issues with looping a sound in flash AS3, in that when I tell the sound to loop I get a slight delay at the end/beginning of the audio. The audio is clipped correctly and will play without a gap on garage band. I know that there are issues with sound in general in flash, bugs with encodings and the inaccuracies with the SOUND_COMPLETE event (And Adobe should be embarrassed with their handling of these issues) I have tried to use the built in loop argument in the play method on the Sound class and also react on the SOUND_COMPLETE event, but both cause a delay. But has anyone come up with a technique for looping a sound without any noticeable gap?

• PHP4 No Error When Missing Method is Called

  I have come across an annoying problem while writing some PHP4 code. I renamed the method of a class but I forgot to rename it where it was being called from. The annoying part is it was hard to track down where the problem was because no error was triggered. The script simply aborted leaving the web page partially rendered. Is it normal for this not to trigger an error or is there something wacky going on here? If this is normal is there a way to force this kind of thing to cause an error?

  Hi, i have a fileupload control from which i need the path of a text file. After selecting the file,i need to open the file for reading the data from the text file.For this, i used the following code to open the text file. fp=File.OpenText(FileUpload2.PostedFile.FileName) This is working fine in my system.The FileUpload2.PostedFile.FileName statement gives the path of the file.The File.OpenText method opens the selected file.But when i run my project in IIS,it gives the following error: "File.OpenText is not declared." The FileUpload2.PostedFile.FileName statement is not retrieving the path, it retrieves only only the filename.what could be the reason?

  When running FindBugs on my project, I got a few instances of the error described above. Namely, my overriding versions of equals cast the RHS object into the same type as the object in which the overriding version is defined. However, I'm not sure whether a better design is possible, since AFAIK Java does not allow variance in method parameters, so it is not possible to define any other type for the equals parameter. Am I doing something very wrong, or is FindBugs too eager? A different way to phrase this question is: what is the correct behavior if the object passed to equals is not the same type as an LHS: Is this a false, or should there be an exception? • Watin ContainsText method fails to find text in FireFox

  The ContainsText method finds the text only in specific area in the html but fails to find id in other parts of the page. • C# progress bar not synced with download (WebClient class)

  Hi, I am coding a system which has a small FTP module included inside, it's not the main feature at all, but needed... I must link the progressbar with the WebClient class event DownloadProgressChangedEventHandler and AsyncCompletedEventHandler, the progressbar increment is ok, and the ASyncCompletedEventHandler launch a MessageBox (as intended), the problem is that the progress bar see to load too slow... problem : My MessageBox pop at 100% (launched by the event handler), BUT when the MessageBox pop my progress bar is only at +-80% (but the .VALUE is really 100), the first though I had was that they have added a "smooth" effect in Windows Vista which slow down the progressbar relatively to it's true value. If any of you have experienced the same problem thanks for your help.

So when you do: EffectOptions options = new EffectOptions (null); which constructor would be called, and why? I could test this myself but I want to understand how the overload resolution system works (not sure if that's what it's called).

• Executing certain code for every method call in C++

  I have a C++ class I want to inspect. So, I would like to all methods print their parameters and the return, just before getting out. The latter looks somewhat easy. If I do return() for everything, a macro #define return(a) cout << (a) << endl; return (a) would do it (might be wrong) if I padronize all returns to parenthesized (or whatever this may be called). If I want to take this out, just comment out the define. However, printing inputs seems more difficult. Is there a way I can do it, using C++ structures or with a workaroud hack?

  I am making an HttpWebRequest at a url similar to this: "http://mysite.com/search?query=my+search+string" Problem is, the Uri class escapes it with %, and the site I'm making the request against can't handle the escaped characters. (I have no control to fix the site) So tried this [Obsolete] constructor: new Uri(myUriString, true); But it did not seem to make any difference, when debugging, my Uri still got escaped. I am running this on a Mac with Mono, but I have not tried it on standard .Net on Windows to see if it has the same behavior. Is there another way to get around this issue?

I plan to use hazelcast to share the control logic (e.g. current counter) I see they provide BlockingQueue & ExectorService but I have no idea how to use in my case.   Hello, I'm using System.Diagnostics.Process to execute an svn command from a windows console application. This is the configuration of the process: svn.StartInfo.FileName = svnPath; svn.StartInfo.Arguments = string.Format("copy {0}/trunk/ {0}/tags/{1} -r head -q --username {3} --password {4} -m \"{2}\"", basePathToRepo, tagName, message, svnUserName, svnPassword); svn.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = false; svn.Start(); svn.WaitForExit(); My problem is that those arguments, which include the svn credentials, are sent (I suppose) in an unsecure way. Is there a way to send these arguments in a secure way using the Process class? Thanks!

  I have a line number of a Java source file and want to get the sourounding method for that line number programatically. I looked into ANTLR which didn't help me much. Janino (http://www.janino.net) seems promising, I would scan and parse (and if necessary compile) the code. Then I could use JDI and ReferenceType.locationsOfLine(int lineNumber) Still I don't know how to use JDI for doing this and didn't find a tutorial that goes anywhere in this direction. Maybe there is some other way that I am completely missing.

However it runs in other thread and it does not change the usr_OK param before IF block begins. I've tried thread.join byt the application freezed and i do not know what to do else. Please help me...how can i wait for WCF method to return param usr_OK.
