• Location accuracy of Google Analytics for Android

  When testing Google Analytics (version 2) for an Android project, I noticed that the Real Time map shows my location to be about 200 miles from my actual location. I'm running my project on a physical device, which leads me to believe that Google Analytics doesn't actually send any location information, but rather gets it from the phones IP address when the data is sent to Googles server. Is there any way to alter this behavior and provide my own location data using getLastKnownLocation() for example? Sending it as an actual Label/Action string would of course work, but that means I can't use Google Analytics fancy map feature to view where my users are coming from.

• How to get dataset to populate data into dbgrid in Delphi 6?

  I have created a DBGrid in Delphi 6 and tied it to a DataSource contained in a DataModule. The Dataset for that source in also located in the same module. In the OnShow event for the form, I activate the dataset and set a label equal to the rowcount for the dataset. This shows several hundred rows but nothing shows in the dbgrid. If I activate the dataset in the IDE, the grid populates with the expected data. Does anyone have any idea why this behaviour would change between the IDE and normal runtime? We are also using SDAC connection components. All 3rd party component choices are not mine to change. I can elaborate as necessary for clarification, but I mainly need troubleshooting ideas to start at.

• Simple iPhone tally method question

  Just trying to create a simple method that counts up 1 on the tally when the button is pressed. My knowledge is extremely limited and I am pretty sure that my problem is somewhere in the method implementation: -(IBAction) updateTally:(id) sender { NSString *text; int total = 0; total = total + 1; text=[[NSString alloc] initWithFormat: @"%i", total]; lblTally.text = text; } I have done the necessary interface declarations for the lblTally UILabel and the updateTally method. I suspect that there is some sort of an NSString/int/%i/%@ mixup that I am making but I'm not sure how to fix it. When I run the program as it currently is it displays a 0 in the lblTally label field on the iphone. When I press the button it then displays a 1 in that field. However, if I continue to press the button - nothing happens.

• JPanel superclass doesn't add the components of its subclasses..

  Well, I use a JFrame that adds two JPanels. Those JPanels are superclasses, because I find it easier to separate different areas of the GUI into different classes. But here's the problem: I add the (superclass) JPanel to the JFrame I set the layout of the superclass JPanel to new BorderLayout(); I add components in the subclasses, like this: JPanel panel = new JPanel(); panel.setLayout(new GridLayout(2,1)); panel.add(new JLabel("Label:"); panel.add(new JTextField(); add(panel, BorderLayout.NORTH); But it doesn't show. What do I do wrong? I've tried it without an additional JPanel in the subclasses, but it doesn't work either. I use jdk 1.6

• get data from gridview without querying database

  Hi there I am new at this so please bear with me... I have managed to get the following code to work...so when I click on the "select" link in each row of the gridview, the data is transfered to other label/textbox on the webpage. So far so good, the thing is that everytime I click on select...it goes and checks on the database for the data and there is a delay of a few seconds... I was hoping that the data, since it is already visible on the gridrows, is simply "picked up" and used on other labels/textboxes...without requerying the database. Is this possible ? • Can anyone explain why this behaviour might be happening in Windows Forms?

  I'm developing a Windows Forms Application. See attached image for the Interface. Now I've put a close button (X) in the Panel(say Panel2) which has Application Constants as label.The first combo box is in another panel(say Panel1). Now when I click on the X button in Panel 2 I want the Panel to be invisible and the combo box text to be blank. Simple enough. So I write Panel2.visible=false; comboBox1.SelectedIndex=-1; When I click on X, the text in combo box goes blank, then I have to click again for the Panel2 to go invisible. Then I changed the sequence comboBox1.SelectedIndex=-1; Panel2.visible=fasle; and this works smooth. Not sure why this might be happening? Is there anything that I might be doing with my form design/code to have such a behaviour?

  My problem is, I need a background image, a sprite(with animation) on left edge, another sprite(with animation) at other edge, a number count animation 1-2-3 at middle. I got all these when I wrote all in same file.(like [self addChild:label], [self addChild:sprite].., But in this it needs touch enables for both sprites separately, and touchDisabled to the remaining screen. So thought of writing in different files. But now it is not working. I kept one sprite, background image, numbercount in one file and another spritr in other file. Either I am getting the second sprite or the (sprite+background+numberCount) is displayed. This is my problem. plz give me solution. Thank You

• Extjs 3.4 - Button Icon does not show or does not center

  I want to fill a button with an icon I created but whatever I have tried just seems to put the icon either half cut off and way left, or it doesn't show at all. I've been trying different combinations of CSS and the icon, iconcls, cls button options. I was following the Ext 3 buttons example page but that doesn't seem to display anything for me... • Specifying default value for django hidden form field - bone DRY?

  So let's say at the last minute (in the view) I decide I want to specify a default for a field and make it hidden, like so: form.fields['coconut'] = forms.ModelChoiceField(label="", widget=forms.HiddenInput(), queryset=swallow.coconuts.all(), initial=some_particular_coconut) My question is this: Do I really need to specify queryset here? I mean, I already know, from initial, exactly which coconut I'm talking about. Why do I also need to specify that the universe of available coconuts is the set of coconuts which this particular swallow carried (by the husk)? Is there a way I can refrain from specifying queryset? Simply omitting causes django to raise TypeError. If indeed it is required, isn't this a bit damp?

• Textbox is disabled after adding text dynamically in codebehind

  Can't quite work out what is happening but The background is that I am dynamically adding table rows in a web page and some of the cells hold controls such as dropdowns etc. One of the columns pulls a size into it. However the column I am having issues with is the next column which takes the text from teh previous dropdown and shows the appropriate price. On doing htis however the textbox which is being created appears to turn into a label as I cannot select or adjust the text that has been put in there. var gotPrice =(from a in getPrice.Sizes where a.Size1 == Size.SelectedValue select a).First(); TextBox Price = new TextBox(); Price.Width = 100; PriceField.Controls.Add(Price); PriceField.Text = gotPrice.RackRate.ToString(); I have tried then calling .Enabled but still the text box is not editable. any help appreciated.

The problem is, if the first few chars match something and then you enter a char that should "break" any match, it just keeps the drop down in place with the results for the last matched char... make sense? • How to properly align textboxes on a webpage with labels

  Hi, this is a CSS / design question. I have three textboxes that i want to be center aligned on a web page. Then i want a label description to the right of each one.   Hi Is it possible to have to make a html for helper in asp.net mvc 2.0 have a default value of "empty string" Like if I do this Html.TextBoxFor( u => u.ProductName) would render to <input id ="ProductName" name="ProdcutName" type="text" value="Jim" /> Now I don't want the textbox to display jim. I want it to display nothing. <input id ="ProductName" name="ProdcutName" type="text" value="" /> I tried to do this Html.TextBoxFor( u => u.ProductName, new { @value = " "}) but that seems to do nothing. So how can I do this. I hope you can do something like this otherwise I think these new helpers have a great flaw since now I need to use like javascript to remove them since I hardly ever want a default value in the textbox especially when I have a label right beside the textbox saying what it is.

Adding either resulted in compiler warnings and runtime errors. I've tried the explicit syntax as described here but haven't found the right combination yet.

• How to set the component size with GridLayout? Is there a better way?

  Hello guys, I am working on a larger GUI with Java and I am becoming angry on Layout Managers. I have a "Settings-Panel" with a variable number of JComponents in it (Labels, Buttons, JSpinners, JSliders,...). I just want the following: JLabel <- JComponent JLabel <- JComponent JLabel <- JComponent ... My Panel has a size of 500px, so that there is enough space for a lot of components. Unfortunatly the GridLayout always stretches the size of the Components to the whole Panel, even if I set a MaximumSize for every component. It looks stupid if there are only two buttons each with a height of 250px. I tried flow Layout, but i cannot figure out a way to make new lines properly. I tried BoxLayout.Y_AXIS, but the Components are always centered, and Label and Component are not in the same line. Does anybody know a good and short way with LayoutManagers to handle this properly?
