• Border-radius bug on <a> in IE9

  Seeing that <div> elements render border/border-radius correctly, but any <a> or <button> that has a background, border and border-radius set shows the background color or image as a square, and only the border is round. Tried setting <a> & <button> to display: block or display: inline-block but that didn't work. Is there a known workaround?   I want to dynamically udpate canvasOverlay property of jQuery jqPlot. This will provide the effect of a timeline in my jqPlot. This effect should be similar to the one shown in this jFiddle.   I'm trying to create a set of button which have an off or on state, much a checkbox without the check. Ideally I want the colour to change to represent the two different states off(red), green(on). • start /B doesn't start the task

  I'm currently launching an asynchronous job with PHP to perform some tests. To make it work, I found on SO some tips, like the use of popen and start: $commande = "testu.bat"; $pid = popen('start /B ' . $commande, 'r'); $status = pclose($pid); The testu.bat's folder is in my user PATH. This script performs some task, and to control it's execution, it should generates a log file, but I never get it. Whereas if I just remove the /B option, it works fine and I get my log file. Did I miss something about background execution? How can I catch the error informations when it is running in the background?

  I have a GWT + AppEngine application that lets users create online polls. I want to let the poll creator choose from a variety of themes for his poll. We will save the theme a poll creator chose on the server and whenever a poll respondent access the poll he will get the questions with the chosen theme. A theme for us means a set of 4-5 colors which we will use to style the poll page.   Here is my ToggleButton: <ToggleButton android:id="@+id/bSmenuTopItems" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="48dp" android:background="@drawable/master_button_selector" android:drawableLeft="@drawable/flame_icon" /> I have no text in this image, I need a ToggleButton due to Active State. EDIT: I think question was misunderstood. There is a drawable inside the Toggle Button (flame_icon) and it is set as background. I want it to be centered. There is no Text, just an image. I need a Toggle Button because I need to have an Active State when selected. There is only drawableLeft, drawableRight, drawableTop, etc. I want a draweableMiddle that doesn't seem to exisit.

• Datagridview retains waitcursor when updated from thread

  I have a DataGridView control in my Windows Forms Application. I am adding rows to the grid using a background thread. I change the form's cursor to Waitcursor when the process starts and back to Default when it ends. This works well for the form, but not for the grid. When the form's cursor is changed back to default, the grid's cursor does not change, although the cursor over the rest of the form does. Does this have anything to do with the fact that I am updating the grid from a background thread? (The cursor is being changed from the UI thread).

  Could you guys help me figuring out QuadCurveTo's 4 parameters , I tried to find information on http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/api/javafx/scene/shape/QuadCurveTo.html, but it's hard for me to understand without picture , I search on google about 'Quadratic Bezier' but it shows me more than 2 coordinates, I'm confused and blind now. I know those 4 parameters draw 2 lines to control the path , but how we know/count exactly which coordinates the object will throught by only knowing those 2 path-controller. • How to setup custom CSS based on account settings in a Django site?

  So I'm writing a Django based website that allows users select a color scheme through an administration interface. I already have middleware/context processors that links the current request (based on domain) to the account. My question is how to dynamically serve the CSS with the account's custom color scheme. I see two options: Add a CSS block to the base template that overrides the styles w/variables passed in through a context processors. Use a custom URL (e.g. "/static/dynamic/css//styles.css") that gets routed to a view that grabs all the necessary values and creates the css file. I'm content with either option, but was wondering if anyone else out there has dealt with similar problems and could give some insight as to "Best Practices".

  I am trying to change the color of the text of tabbar item,programmatically. Suppose I have some jquery code that states that if I mouseover an li, it gets a background color. However, if I mouseover the "Sub Item" list item, "Item 2" will be highlighted as well. How can I make it so that if the user mouses over "Sub Item" it only puts a background color on that and not on "Item 2" as well?

• CSS navigation submenu and seperator

  I have created a navigation bar that is centered with CSS which works. Each li item is separated with a border which is a background image. When hovering on the nav items, the separator disappears because the hover changes the background (I guess) but I wonder how I can fix this, padding or margin can't work because it will just shift the li element. Second problem is that the sub menu items aren't displaying correctly and I have no idea why... • How to get ImageButton size within Android GridView?

  I'm subclassing ImageButton in order to draw lines on it and trying to figure out where the actual button coordinates are within my gridview. I am using onGlobalLayout to setup Top, Bottom, Right and Left, but these seem to be for the actual "square" within the grid, and not the actual button (see image). The purple lines are drawn in myImageButton.onDraw() using coords gathered from myImageButton.onGlobalLayout(). I thought these would be for the button, but they seem to be from something else. Not sure what. I'd like the purple lines to match the outline of the button so the lines I draw appear on the button and not just floating out in the LinearLayout somewhere. The light blue is the background color of the vertical LinearLayout holding the Textview (for the number) and myImageButton. Any way to get the actual button size? • Android Static Variable Scope and Lifetime

  I have an application that has a Service uses a ArrayList to store in the background for a very long time, the variable is initialized when the service started. The service is in the background and there will be frequent access to the variable (that's why i don't want to use file management or settings since it will be very expensive for a file I/O for the sake of battery life). The variable will likely to be ~1MB-2MB over its life tie. Is it safe to say that it will never be nulled by GC or the system or is there any way to prevent it? Thanks.

• Setting minimum threads in thread pool

  I have an application with 4 worker threads from the thread pool. It was waking up every 0.5 second. as written in msdn the thread pool monitors every 0,5 second to create idle threads. I set the nuber of minimum threads to 4 and it solved the problem - no more background activity all the time. My question is - I have another applicatiopn which has the same number of threads threads-4, but here setting min thread to 4 doesn't help but when setting min thread to 5 then the background monitoring stops. What might be the difference between 2 application with the same number of threads from the thread pool- 4 threads.On one setting min threads to 4 helps and the other only setting min threads to 5 helps?

• Shell Prompt Line Wrapping Issue

  I've done something to break my Bash Shell Prompt in OS X (10.5.7) Terminal. This is the PS1 that I had configured: PS1='\[\e[1;32m\]\h\[\e[0m\]:\[\e[1;34m\]\w\[\e[0m\]\$ ' As far as I can tell I have the color commands escaping correctly. However when I scroll up and down in my command history I often get line wrapping issues if the historic commands wrap onto multiple lines. I simplified my prompts to the following: PS1='\[\e[1m\]\h:\w\$ \[\e[0m\]' PS2='> ' And I still see something like: localhost:~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/knpmxpup.Defau lt/extensions/{1A2D0EC4-75F5-4c91-89C4-3656F6E44B68}$ expocd \{1A2D0EC4-7 5F5-4c91-89C4-3656F6E export PS1="\[ \e[1;32m\]\h\[\e[0m\]: cd Library/Appl ication\ Support/ I've also tried \033 instead of \e. I just included PS2 up there for information, I haven't changed that from the install default. If I completely remove the color codes then everything works fine, any ideas?

• Server Side code Pushing Data to client Browser while current thread is busy Comet (programming)

  Hello Friends, I am writing one simple web page with bunch of textboxes and a button control. Now when user finished editing the values on this text boxes user has to click the button and this button invoke heavily process intensive algorithm on server side code based on the data received from client (Textboxes) And it could some time takes up to 30 to 45 minutes to complete the whole operation so the current thread is still inside the button click event handler function. That background task only provides one event, and the web page subscribes to it to get some text data after each stage of processing I was wandering if there is any way I can keep user up-to-date with what is the current progress on that background task. I have div element to print the current status information So I am looking for some sort of reverse mechanism then "get" and "post". I have read some articles on the Comet (programming) but I can't find any easy or definitive answer Thanks in advance
