    I have a ASPX.NET DataGrid and im trying to USE a select LIKE 'X'% from a table that has 1 field called location. im trying to display the locations that start with a certain letter (example wxxx,axxx,fxxx,) in different columns in my data grid.     In my app I want show a list,and when user click in any list item ,some new items must be added to the same list.Now I use default ListField of bb and a vetcor to add or remove elements to or from it.Now I want the list to hold more than one row(an image and some text), i searched for it I got some good sample but it not suitable for me(http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1872160/how-to-customize-list-field-in-blackberry). I need a custom listfield which have atleast two rows and can be populated using a vector from the MainScreen class.I want only one object of custom class.If any one have idea please help.

    I have a Visual Studio 2003 web service project that I have to upgrade to Visual Studio 2008. After I have run the conversion wizard, I get this message: You have completed the first step in converting your Visual Studio .NET 2003 web project. To complete the conversion, please select your project in the Solution Explorer and choose the 'Convert to Web Application' context menu item. I got this message with another project, which was originally a "web site", rather than an ASP.NET "web application". It made sense to in that case (sort of). Why, however, would I not just want to have this project remain a web service project? Additionally, when I follow the instructions and select "Convert to Web Application" from the context menu, I don't get any feedback that anything has changed. Should it have? If so, what?

    Hi Guys, I simply want to create a fairly basic REST service, so that I can expose some of the data in my asp.net/SQL server application to the outside works, like this..... http://domain.com/api/offices - would return an xml set of office locations. http://domain.com/api/offices/15 - would return all the details of office 15. It's all fairly standard stuff (including basic authentication) but there seem to be several ways to achieve this using Microsoft technologies and I don't really know where to start. These seem to be the options... 1) WCF 2) ASP.NET MVC 3) ADO.NET Data Services 4) Rest Starter Kit project templates? Which of these is the easiest and most "up-to-date" solution to creating a web service?

I've seen fairly passionate comments from various people about which is best and have even found some differing comments from Microsoft. My web service should be fairly simple: I want to expose bus timetable information. I figure the resources I will be concerned about are Fares Timetables (routes, stops) What would be the most appropriate (i.e. not necessarily the easiest, most fun or your personal preference) technology to use out of WCF, ADO.NET Data Services or ASP.Net MVC?

    I created an implementation of LoggingHandler that implements SOAPHandler It should log whenever handleMessage triggers. [ And it is never called in my case ] then : MyService service = new MyService(); MyServicePort port = service.getPortType(); now I try this: BindingProvider bindingProvider = (BindingProvider)port; bindingProvider.getBinding().getHandlerChain().add(new LoggingHandler()); I do not see any request / response xml though. Can you suggest any solution? Maybe there's other way to see output and request xml s ?

    I have an iFrame like so: <iframe width="100%" frameborder="0" height="470" allowtransparency="true" name="productframe" id="productframe" style="border-bottom:1px solid #eee"></iframe> The iframe contains several line items drawn from a sql server db, and I can check any of the checkboxes I want to perform a task with - in this case delete them. I have a button in the parent document that says "Delete selected", and I'd like to be able to click this button and populate a hidden field in my parent page with the values of the selected checkboxes in the child iframe. My checkboxes look like this: <input id="Checkbox1" type="checkbox" value="47" title="Select this row" name="selectItem"/> I have an instance of jquery on my parent page so I can make use of jquery selectors, I just have no clue as to the syntax needed to do this. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me on this.

So in this case index=3 How can I pass this to awk?     How can I use grails domain classes (which is in groovy) in service layer which is in Java/Spring. When using the grails MVC, everything is fine as I can use controller to access domain objects and call CRUD and other dynamic methods on them. But, what I am wondering is is there a clean way to do it from Java - say the service layer. For example, I may want to develop a reporting framework where I need to use domain objects to access the DB. I Hope the question is clear. This should be a standard problem that everybody must have faced in a reasonably sized project. I am just wondering how it is solved..maybe I am missing something here. thanks.

  • Show extra info for Preference screens when CheckboxPreference summary field is not enough long?

    I have situation when you can enabled/disable modules for my Android application. For this I use a CheckboxPreference screen. This is all good, but the summary field gets cut off if longer descriptions are added than 2 lines. Suppose I have 4-5 lines of description available for each module, I would like to display this in a helper window. I tried to bind a click event to the CheckboxPreference, but that fires for the whole line, so not only when the checkbox is clicked, and more, where ever you click on the line the checkbox is toggled. So now I am wondering if this can be fixed. So if the user needs more info, just taps the text and the helper opens up, and if want to toggle the settings it taps the checkbox. How would you do it? I am open to other ideas too, if they do work.

  • Does Google provide any Android tutorials that teach how to implement a Service?

    I apologize in advance for the "newbie" nature of this question. Here is my predicament: I'm brand new to android and developing in general. I'm using android's SDK with eclipse Galileo. I've followed several tutorials to create different layouts. I've even learned recently how to use radio buttons and verify which ones were selected. Now I need to create a service that downloads and updates an xml file within the application. I've tried to locate a simple tutorial for services on Google's developer site but so far, so bad. If they exist could somebody point me in the right direction? On the other hand, I've been told Google's tutorials are a little out dated. Is that true? If so, are there any other tutorials that would hand-hold (and possibly over-explain) how to use a service to a true newbie for free (like google)? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Hi everybody, I have a strange problem sometimes when I try to merge a data table with a typed dataset my data table is filled in with a stored procedure and when I checked the content of this table it is ok, everything is in there straight after I merge it with my core typed dataset like this : MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Clear(); MyTypedDataSet.TheTable.Merge(MyDataTable); and now if i check the table in the dataset everything is ok except only one single field on one single row which is DBNull, that makes no sense because the source data table contains the good integer vaue.     We're in the process of replacing an old (5+ years) Windows service application built with VS2005 that makes an HTTP GET call. There are several things that make this difficult (such as the web server is on the customer's network and we can't connect directly to it) and, unfortunately, we'd prefer not to take down the running system to replace it with a WinForm version that can be monitored by Fiddler. The new code appears to be doing everything correctly, but, alas, it is failing to authenticate. Is there a way to configure Fiddler (2.2.9.1) to intercept HTTP calls from a Windows service?

  • Are there any OSGi web service / SOAP clients out there?

    I'm looking for any webservice client that can be run inside an OSGi container and connect to a simple web service using SOAP, doesn't sound so hard does it? Oh, and it has to work under Java 1.5, so the JRE jax-ws wont be present. The problem is I've tried a few solutions now, and although each solution works in standard Java using it from within OSGi doesn't. the springsource JAX-WS bundles seem to have dependency issues the CXF bundles get me as far as calling the service, but then can seem to find the stub methods in the proxy Is there anyone out there who has successfully created an OSGi webservice client?

  • How do I tell which account is trying to access an ASP.NET web service?

    I'm getting a 401 (access denied) calling a method on an internal web service. I'm calling it from an ASP.NET page on our company intranet. I've checked all the configuration and it should be using integrated security with an account that has access to that service, but I'm trying to figure out how to confirm which account it's connecting under. Unfortunately I can't debug the code on the production network. In our dev environment everything is working fine. I know there has to be a difference in the settings, but I'm at a loss with where to start. Any recommendations?

  • Why can't I expose an interface in a .NET asmx web service?

    I have a .NET web service (using asmx...have not upgraded to WCF yet) that exposes the following: public class WidgetVersion1 : IWidget {} public class WidgetVersion2 : IWidget {} When I attempt to bind to the web service, I get the following serialization error: Cannot serialize member WidgetVersion1 of type IWidget because it is an interface. I have tried adding various attributes to the IWidget interface (XmlIgnore, SoapIgnore, NonSerialized), but they are not valid on an interface. Does anyone know why I am unable to expose the interface? I assume WSDL does not support interfaces, but couldn't .NET get around this by simply not serializing the interface? Are there any ways around this apart from removing the IWidget interface from the WidgetVersion1 and WidgetVersion2 class definitions?
