  • Lenovo System Update Breaks Windows Live

    Hey everyone, I've been racking my brain (and fingers from typing) trying to solve this issue to no avail. I have a Lenovo computer and I install their system update tool to install all my missing drivers. However after this tool is installed Windows Live 2011 breaks, it will no longer sign in giving error number 8e5e0247 all the solutions online haven't helped. It appears that a language setting somewhere gets set to en_ms, and I'm en_ca. My computer is running Windows 7 x64. When i try to sign onto messenger it gives an error that (with some research) means your locale or language is not supported, I've searched my computer for any reference to en_ms but find none. Also a few other things seem to have broken, When a UAC box comes up it is no longer able to identify the publisher of anything, and also the indexing service does not work (I'm not sure if the indexing issue is related, but the UAC issue happened right after installation), I had this issue before but I don't remember how I fixed it, I believe it had something to do with environmental variables. When it goes to sign in it gets as far as the "Loading contacts" then stops and goes back to the sign in screen. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks

  • Apache downloads php files instead of running their source

    I have just recently upgraded PHP 5.3 to 5.4 on my Debian Squeeze server. Now, instead of executing PHP files, Apache just downloads them, which is really bad. When I try to follow these steps, I get "broken packages" upon installing the libapache2-mod-php5 package. Also the answer tells me to add something to my httpd.conf, but it's empty.   • qt qmake mkspecs relative path

    Hello, when I compile Qt with Windows SDK 7.0, I use : configure.exe -shared -platform win32-msvc2008 -ltcg -no-dsp -no-vcproj nmake ...no error occured. But when I move or change name of my Qt folder, qmake.exe said me makespec is not defined, so I configure my QMAKESPEC to win32-msvc2008, I try again, but now it said me it cannot find mkspecs folder, it try to find this folder only where I compiled Qt (absolute path), I want qmake.exe use relative path : ../mkspecs/ not C:\qt-4.6.2\mkspecs. How can I solve this issue ?

  • Get Local IP-Address using Boost.Asio

    Hey, I'm currently searching for a portable way of getting the local IP-addresses. Because I'm using Boost anyway I thought it would be a good idea to use Boost.Asio for this task. There are serveral examples on the net which should do the trick. Examples: Official Boost.Asio Documentation Some Asian Page I tried both codes with just slight modifications. The Code on Boost.Doc was changed to not resolve "www.boost.org" but "localhost" or my hostname instead. For getting the hostname I used boost::asio::ip::host_name() or typed it directly as a string. Additionally I wrote my own code which was a merge of the above examples and my (little) knowledge I gathered from the Boost Documentation and other examples. All the sources worked, but they did just return the following IP: 127.0.1.1 (Thats not a typo, its .1.1 at the end) I run and compiled the code on Ubuntu 9.10 with GCC 4.4.1 A colleague tried the same code on his machine and got 127.0.0.2 (Not a typo too...) He compiled and run on Suse 11.0 with GCC 4.4.1 (I'm not 100% sure) I don't know if it is possible to change the localhost (127.0.0.1), but I know that neither me or my colleague did it. ifconfig says loopback uses 127.0.0.1. ifconfig also finds the public IP I am searching for (141.200.182.30 in my case, subnet is 255.255.0.0) So is this a Linux-issue and the code is not as portable as I thought? Do I have to change something else or is Boost.Asio not working as a solution for my problem at all? I know there are much questions about similar topics on Stackoverflow and other pages, but I cannot find information which is useful in my case. If you got useful links, it would be nice if you could point me to it.     Hi All, Looking at Thrift and Google Protocol Buffers to implement some quick RPC code. Thrift would be perfect if the generated C++ code compiled on windows (which is what I need). And of course, GPB creates RPC stubs, but no implementation. Is there a way to get Thrift Windows friendly? Or, even better, are there any RPC implementations available freely for generated C++ protobuf stubs (a Java counterpart would be nice too, but is not necessary). Thanks

  • Using tslib (touchscreen input) with DirectFB on embedded system (gumstix overo)

    I'm attempting to use tslib with DirectFB on the gumstix Overo. Everything seems to be compiled correctly, as when DirectFB starts up, I get messages saying "Started 'tslib Input' ... DirectFB/Input: tslib touchscreen 0 0.1 (tslib)" etc. However, I haven't been able to find any example code showing how one reads the X-Y coordinates of a touchscreen press. Is there any example code out there to initialize the touchscreen and return the coordinates of a touchscreen press? Thanks in advance, Ben

I don't want to use Rhino because the java dependency would make it too difficult to distribute. Has anyone compiled CoffeeScript from .NET or have any idea how it could be done?

I have looked into Qt and it doesn't look like it has support for iPhone. I have also looked at boost, and that looks like it can be compiled for the iPhone. I want my configure script to check if compiler supports C++11 or not.   • how to merge stripped symbols with binary?

    I compiled the Qt Framework with debugging enabled, but the script stripped the debugging symbols from the libraries and saved them as *.debug files -- just like here. Sadly I need these symbols inside the .so files, so I can continue working with them. There seems no way to teach my debugger to load external (non-PDB) symbols. So another way of solving my problem might be converting the .debug files to PDB format, which might also be a problem. Thank you very much!

  • Can't start gdb.exe in Qt Creator

    I have a project in Qt Creator that builds fine, but when I try to debug it I get this message: Adapter start failed Unable to start gdb 'C:\Qt\2010.02.1\mingw\bin\gdb.exe': Process failed to start: The directory name is invalid If I navigate to the debug build folder and directly run my compiled application, it will run fine, but obviously there's no debugging support. Additionally, gdb.exe is present at C:\Qt\2010.02.1\mingw\bin\gdb.exe, but Qt Creator can't seem to run it. How can I fix this problem?

  • Large data processing in x86 C# gives System.OutOfMemory exception

    I am processing XML coming from server which contains both images and data in one C# function (compiled 32 bit). When I try to parse this xml in memory it gives me System.OutOfMemory exception. Is there any way to avoid this error? My guess is, system cannot find contiguous block of 50-100MB memory. (my pc hv 8Gig ram and its quad core)
