Hello,
So far all the Excel stuff revolves around opening a file, writing values to it and saving it.
Is there a way to update the data in the Excel (while it's opened) automatically?
Thanks!
I've been using MonoDevelop and Make to execute some build taks on a C project under linux, but I decided to abandon Make and switch to NAnt since I am more proficient in writing C# programs than Make/shell scripts, so I decided to write a custom NAnt task in C# to replace my Makefile. So, how can I invoke GCC or other shell commands from C#?
I am doing some prototyping for a new desktop app i am writing in Python, and i want to use SQLite and an ORM to store data.
My question is, are there any ORM libraries that support auto-generating/updating the database schema and work with SQLite?
We have a Magento 1.5.0.1 store running at a hosting provider. Now, we need to migrate the same from that server to a new hosting provider. I had talk with a technical guy from the new hosting provider who told me to do following things.
Go into the cPanel Backup Wizard . Make a FULL BACKUP and download the zip file
Then upload that zip file on their server in my root folder.
Then tell them and they will do the restore.
My Concern :- Will everything work as expected. What about the connectionstrings and database and all. Will database be automatically created and work the same. Also, somewhere I read that ver 1.5.0.1 used older type of database which might not work on new MySQLs. Can this too have any impact. Should i proceed in the same manner or I need to take care of some additional things to ensure smooth running.
So whenever I write code I always think about the performance implications. I've often wondered, what is the "cost" of using a memcopy relative to other functions in terms of performance?
For example, I may be writing a sequence of numbers to a static buffer and concentrate on a frame within the buffer, in order to keep the frame once I get to the end of the buffer, I might memcopy all of it to the beginning OR I can implement an algorithm to amortize the computation.
I'm writing an application in C++ that runs as a system tray icon. When the application initially starts up the main dialog loads up and takes focus, which isn't the behavior I intend it to have. Is there a way to load the system tray icon without having the main dialog load up?
I have read this question and I'm still not sure whether it is possible to keep pointers to methods in an array in Java, if anyone knows if this is possible or not it would be a real help. I'm trying to find an elegant solution of keeping a list of Strings and associated functions without writing a mess of hundreds of 'if's.
Cheers
edit-
'functions' changed to 'methods', seems to bug people.
If writing a Java unit test with mocking using JMock, should we use
Mockery context = new Mockery()
or
Mockery context = new JUnit4Mockery()
What is the difference between the two, and when should we use which?
Hey, id like to make this as fast as possible because it gets called A LOT in a program i'm writing, so is there any faster way to initialize a C++ vector to random values than:
double range;//set to the range of a particular function i want to evaluate.
std::vector<double> x(30, 0.0);
for (int i=0;i<x.size();i++) {
x.at(i) = (rand()/(double)RAND_MAX)*range;
}
EDIT:Fixed x's initializer.
I'm writing an Apache module and want to get a string with the Apache name version and other details. Much like what gets added to outgoing headers, e.g.:
Server: Apache/2.2.13 (Win32)
I've tried code like this:
apr_table_get(request_rec->headers_out,"Server")
But that doesn't seem to work. Is there an API call I haven't found or am I doomed to get version resource data from httpd.exe?
Hi,
is it possible to pause the logger in log4c++, and by pause I mean to stop writing messages in the log file but not finalize the logger object or delete it.
thanks in advance
I want to collapse or expand sub-sequences of a list
e.g. ['A', 'B', 'D', 'E', 'H'] -> ['AB', 'DE', 'H'] and vice versa
currently I wrote some ugly code like:
while True:
for i, x in enumerate(s):
if x == 'A' and s[i+1] == 'B':
s[i:i+2] = 'AB'
break
else:
break
For people who asking 'why do that thing':
Actually I'm working on a optimizing compiler and this is the peephole part.
Writing pattern matching is a little annoying.
Hello,
I'm writing a stored procedure. This procedure has a case where if it is met, I want to stop executing the procedure and return -1. How do I do this? Currently, I'm trying the following:
IF @result <> 1
BEGIN
SELECT -1
END
However, SELECT is not a typical "return". As you can imagine I spend most of my time in code which is why i'm looking for something like a "return".
Thank you,
Hello,
I have 2 databases, one is MS Access DB from an old website, and the other one is MYSQL from the new Joomla+VirtueMart based website.
I need to migrate existing products from MS Access to MYSQL.
I thought of putting both on server and writing SQL queries in MYSQL workbench, untill I have a good script for that, but I'm very new to SQL, so I'd rather avoid that.
I there a better way and more efficient for that?
When writing a login system for a website, it is standard to use some combination of parameterized calls, sanitizing the user input, and/or escaping special characters to prevent SQL injection attacks.
Any good login system, however, should also hash (and possibly salt) every password before it goes into an SQL query, so is it still necessary to worry about SQL injection attacks in passwords? Doesn't a hash completely eliminate any possibility of an SQL injection attack on its own?
Don't know if this is possible, I am looking a writing social network-esque code but need a bit of help.
SELECT wall.Wid, wall.uid, wall.wcomment, wall.name, comment.wid, comment.comment,comment.wid
FROM wall
LEFT JOIN comment ON wall.Wid=comment.wid
WHERE wall.uid in (SELECT fid from friends where uid = 3)
Cheers guys
Hi,
Have You got any tutorials, books, any good resources to start creating mobile games using silverlight ?
Maybe any good resource on writing 2d games in silverlight for pc?
Ay way do You think that its worth learning it or any other technology would be better and have probably shinier future ?
I'm documenting code in Eclipse and have been using the /** followed by Enter alot to insert the Javadoc template. However this does not always work for some reason, it will create the template for writing comments but it won't automatically insert the @param and @return text. If I copy the exact same method to another class it will insert the full template.
It would be a big help if anyone could tell me why it won't do this in some situations.
I'm refactoring some client-server code and it uses the terms Response, Result & Reply for the same thing (an answer from the server). And although its not really that important it's become hard to guess which word to use while writing new code, so I'd like to unify the three terms into one and do the appropriate refactoring, but I'm not sure which word is the "best", if there is such a thing.
Any suggestions based on precedence and standards towards naming for this case?
I need to sort a 2 dimensional array of doubles on multiple columns using either C or C++. Could someone point me to the algorithm that I should use or an existing library (perhaps boost?) that has this functionality?
I have a feeling that writing a recursive function may be the way to go but I am too lazy to write out the algorithm or implement it myself if it has been done elsewhere. :-)
Thanks
I'm writing a linux driver and I would like to register a callback function to be invoked when the system goes to sleep. What is the api to do this?
Thanks.
