    In Windows XP, installing the software 'Explorer Breadcrumbs' allows me to have an address bar similar to Windows 7 (directories are displayed as buttons that you can click to go to). With Explorer Breadcrumbs in Windows XP, I can open a directory in the address bar in a new window by ctrl-clicking or middle clicking the directory button. Is there a way to have this same functionality in Windows 7?

    Our company is moving to new offices in a couple of months, and I am responsible for looking after the move of the development servers in the company. most of the dev equipment is in 5, 42U cabinets + rack for switching/routing equipment. How do most people do this sort of thing? Move the cabinent whole or extract the indvidual components and move the racks empty. any advise on prep and shutdown before the move would be welcome

    Hi guys, I have 2 servers and I just moved most of the shares from server1 (SBS 2003 server) to server2 (Server 2003 Standard). However, in sharepoint there are a lot of links that refer to the old server by name, ie, \\server1\accounts. It is generated on the computer where access was attempted. The Subject fields indicate the account on the local system which requested the logon. I found on http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc787567(v=WS.10).aspx that the 4 means "Batch logon type is used by batch servers, where processes may be executing on behalf of a user without their direct intervention." which really doesn't shed any light on it for me. I checked the services and they are all logging in as local system or network service. Nothing for administrator. Anyone have any idea how I tell where these are coming from?     On my Ubuntu server, when I do everything now I do it as "root" user. So for example, logging into ftp filezilla, I enter "root" as username... Is this the way to do it, or should I create a users group and add priveliges to the users in that group? Don't know if I should create a new user or not, it works with root just fine, but I don't want any security flaws... Thanks

    I created a custom LDAP objectClass, but forgot a couple attributes before I added it to my OpenLDAP server. I followed the instructions on this Ubuntu doc page: https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/openldap-server.html I am running Ubuntu 12.04. So, how do I add a new MAY attribute to an objectClass that is already applied to the server? Specifically on OpenLDAP, but it would be good to know how for Novell eDirectory as well.

  • easiest way to automate all software installations for new users/computers?

    Basically, for every new user we have about 30 different installers that all need to be run manually after an install of windows which is tedious/time consuming. We can't simply ghost/image the computers as they come because of the wide variety of hardware being used (all laptops). What would you suggest to run through all the installers automatically without requiring me to sit and click 'next'.. 'next'.. 'continue'.. 'no dont install msn toolbar please'?
