  We have build a solution based on file based delivery using Spring-Integration. This works fine but we need to process many files. We are happy with Spring Integration but we want to scale up.   I look at ads and the jobs seem to overlap. A lot of software engineer jobs even say CS or related degree so it doesn't seem like a degree in CS = software engineer. It seems like a programmer or developer with experience can transition to the role or become an "engineer". Or is the engineer just the same job with a fancy name... Is there really a difference or is it just HR throwing names around?

  Ok, I wanting to database a small library. I've only had limmited experience with databeses, and vnone with queerying a websever. I'm going to want to retrieve information like title, Publisher, maybe author, desciption the simplest way i can think of dooing this is looking them up via the isbn. • Options to develop professionally with Microsoft tools and Technologies without spending a lot?

  I would like to develop applications for the Windows platform & at the very least I need a server based Windows OS (2008), SQL Server, IIS and Visual Studio. Looks like VS2010 professional alone will cost over $1K. Is there a cheaper option to get hold of Microsoft software? I remember long time ago there was an MSDN subscription option which allowed user access to server based OS and other server applications with restrictive licensing that was cost effective. I don't see that option anymore. Moreover, I am not a student & I understand Microsoft provides software at discounted rates for students. Any pointers? Many thanks.

  From my experience so far, it seems that if you write a script that makes lots of expensive calls close together, the functionality just "hangs", or you get inconsistent responses, and have to refresh the browser because sheets stop updating etc. Are there any docs or specs that clarify this, as releasing an app fr real-world use is not possible if users can expect it to work most of the time, and produce random results every now and then...
