  • Ruby: change each value in a hash with something like #collect for arrays?

    - by Adam Nonymous
    Hi! I'd like to replace each value in a hash with value.some_method. For example in a simple hash {"a" = "b", "c" = "d"} every value should be .upcase-d so it looks like {"a" = "B", "c" = "D"}. I tried #collect and #map but always just get arrays back. Is there an 'elegant' way to do this? Thanks in advance, Adam Nonymous UPDATE: Damn, I forgot: The hash is in an instance variable which should not be changed. I need a new hash with the changed values, but would prefer not to define that variable explicitly and then loop over the hash filling it. Something like new_hash = hash.magic {...} ;)

  • DocumentFragment not appending in IE

    - by bmwbzz
    I have a select list which, when changed, pulls data via ajax and dynamically creates select lists. Then based on the data used to create the select lists (a type), I pull more data via ajax if i don't have it already and create the options for the select list and store them in a fragment. Then I append that fragment to the select list. This is zippy in FF3 and Chrome but either doesn't append the options at all or takes a long time (minutes) to append the options in IE7. Note: I am also using jQuery. code from the success callback which creates the select lists: blockDiv.empty(); var contentItemTypes = new Array(); selectLists = new Array(); for (var post in msg) { if (post != undefined) { var div = fragment.cloneNode(true); //deep copy var nameDiv = $(div.firstChild); nameDiv.text(msg[post].Name); blockDiv[0].appendChild(div); var allSelectLists = blockDiv.find('.editor-field select'); var selectList = $(allSelectLists[allSelectLists.length - 1]); var blockId = msg[post].ID; var elId = 'PageContentItem.' + blockId; selectList.attr('id', elId); selectList.attr('name', elId); var contentItemTypeId = msg[post].ContentItemTypeId; selectList.attr('cit', contentItemTypeId); if (contentItems[contentItemTypeId] != null || contentItems[contentItemTypeId] != undefined) { contentItems[contentItemTypeId] = null; } selectLists[post] = selectList; } } var firstContentTypeId = selectLists[0].attr('cit'); getContentItems(firstContentTypeId, setContentItemsForList, 0); code to get the items for the options in the select lists. function getContentItems(contentTypeId, callback, callbackParam) { if (contentItems[contentTypeId] != null || contentItems[contentTypeId] != undefined) { callback(contentTypeId, callbackParam); return; } contentItems[contentTypeId] = document.createDocumentFragment(); Q.ajax({ type: "POST", url: "/CMS/ContentItem/ListByContentType/" + contentTypeId, data: "{}", contentType: "application/json; charset=utf-8", dataType: "json", error: function(xhr, msg, e) { var err = eval("(" + xhr.responseText + ")"); alert(err.ExceptionType + " ***** " + err.Message + " ***** " + err.StackTrace); }, success: function(msg) { var li; for (var post in msg) { if (post != undefined) { li = $('<option value="' + msg[post].ID + '">' + msg[post].Description + '</option>'); contentItems[contentTypeId].appendChild(li[0]); } } callback(contentTypeId, callbackParam); } }); } function setContentItemsForList(contentTypeId, selectIndex) { if (selectIndex < selectLists.length) { var items = contentItems[contentTypeId].cloneNode(true); selectLists[selectIndex].append($(items.childNodes)); selectIndex++; if (selectIndex < selectLists.length) { var nextContentTypeId = selectLists[selectIndex].attr('cit'); getContentItems(nextContentTypeId, setContentItemsForList, selectIndex); } } }

  • Why are $_POST variables getting escaped in PHP?

    - by George Edison
    When my PHP script receives data from an AJAX POST request, the $_POST variables are escaped. The really strange thing is that this only happens on my production server (running PHP 5.2.12 on Linux) and not on my local server (running PHP 5.3.1 on Windows). Here is the AJAX code: var pageRequest = false; if(window.XMLHttpRequest) pageRequest = new XMLHttpRequest(); else if(window.ActiveXObject) pageRequest = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); pageRequest.onreadystatechange = function() { } var q_str = 'data=' + " ' "; pageRequest.open('POST','unnamed_page.php',true); pageRequest.setRequestHeader("Content-type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); pageRequest.setRequestHeader("Content-length", q_str.length); pageRequest.setRequestHeader("Connection", "close"); pageRequest.send(q_str); Is there any reason this is happening? And how should I fix this so that it works on both servers?

  • Why doesn't this code work correctly?

    - by MisterSir
    I'm working on a website that displays galleries, using jCarousel. But no matter what I try, I can't get it to work, and I need to finish this by today. I have a very urgent schedule. My code basically takes image URLs from a database and sends them to AJAX, which passes it to jCarousel which makes the gallery. But there are a few problems: It doesn't display correctly! I can only get the last item pulled from the database, and it displays on the bottom-most row. After the item pulled from the database is displayed, the first time I click on "prev" there's no scroll effect, and the item just disappears! Only if I click on "next" 2-3 times there's a scroll effect and the item remains visible. My items are always displayed at the end of the carousel! This is urgent.. Please help me fix this. about.html: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en-us"> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.4.4.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="/lib/jquery.jcarousel.min.js"></script> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/skins/tango/skin.css" /> <!--<style type="text/css"> #wrapper { width: 700px; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; } #carousel { margin-top: 120px; padding-left: 120px; } #side { padding-left: 550px; position: absolute; padding-top: 120px; } #hidden { color: #FFFFFF; } </style>--> <script type="text/javascript"> jQuery.easing['BounceEaseOut'] = function(p, t, b, c, d) { if ((t/=d) < (1/2.75)) { return c*(7.5625*t*t) + b; } else if (t < (2/2.75)) { return c*(7.5625*(t-=(1.5/2.75))*t + .75) + b; } else if (t < (2.5/2.75)) { return c*(7.5625*(t-=(2.25/2.75))*t + .9375) + b; } else { return c*(7.5625*(t-=(2.625/2.75))*t + .984375) + b; } }; function mycarousel_initCallback(carousel) { jQuery('#mycarousel-next').bind('click', function() { carousel.next(); return false; }); jQuery('#mycarousel-prev').bind('click', function() { carousel.prev(); return false; }); }; jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery('#mycarousel').jcarousel({ easing: 'BounceEaseOut', wrap: "first", initCallback: mycarousel_initCallback, animation: 1000, scroll: 3, visible: 3, buttonNextHTML: null, buttonPrevHTML: null }); jQuery('#mycarousel2').jcarousel({ easing: 'BounceEaseOut', animation: 1000, wrap: "first", initCallback: mycarousel_initCallback, scroll: 3, visible: 3, buttonNextHTML: null, buttonPrevHTML: null }); jQuery('#mycarousel3').jcarousel({ easing: 'BounceEaseOut', animation: 1000, scroll: 3, wrap: "first", initCallback: mycarousel_initCallback, visible: 3, buttonNextHTML: null, buttonPrevHTML: null }); }); var prevButton = null; function getObject(b, el) { var currbutton = b; var http; var url = "about.php"; var parameters = "d=carousel&cat=" + currbutton; try { http = new XMLHttpRequest(); } catch(e) { try { http = new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP"); } catch(e) { http = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } } function getServer() { if (http.readyState == 4) { var i = 0; var liArr = http.responseText; var built = liArr.split(", "); var li = document.createElement("li"); var ul1 = document.getElementById("mycarousel"); var ul2 = document.getElementById("mycarousel2"); var ul3 = document.getElementById("mycarousel3"); if (el != prevButton) { prevButton = el; while (ul1.hasChildNodes() ) {ul1.removeChild(ul1.lastChild);} while (ul2.hasChildNodes() ) {ul2.removeChild(ul2.lastChild);} while (ul3.hasChildNodes() ) {ul3.removeChild(ul3.lastChild);} } else return 0; while (i < (built.length) / 3) { li.innerHTML = built[i]; ul1.appendChild(li); i++; } while (i < ((built.length) / 3)*2) { li.innerHTML = built[i]; ul2.appendChild(li); i++; } while (i < (built.length)) { li.innerHTML = built[i]; ul3.appendChild(li); i++; } } } http.open("POST", url, true); http.setRequestHeader("Content-type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); http.setRequestHeader("Content-length", parameters.length); http.setRequestHeader("Connection", "close"); http.onreadystatechange = getServer; http.send(parameters); } </script> </head> <body> <span id="hidden"> </span> <div id="wrapper"> <div id="side"> <form name="cats"> <input type="button" value="Hats" onclick="getObject('hats', this);"/><br /> <input type="button" value="Pants" onclick="getObject('pants', this);"/><br /> <input type="button" value="Shirts" onclick="getObject('shirts', this);"/><br /> </form> </div> <div id="carousel"> <ul id="mycarousel" class="jcarousel-skin-tango"> </ul> <ul id="mycarousel2" class="jcarousel-skin-tango"> </ul> <ul id="mycarousel3" class="jcarousel-skin-tango"> </ul> <input type="button" id="mycarousel-prev" value="prev" /> <input type="button" id="mycarousel-next" value="next" /> </div> </div> </body> </html> I commented the CSS because I thought it was giving me trouble, but honestly I have no idea what the hell's going on with jCarousel. about.php: <?php echo "<img width='75' height='75' src='http://static.flickr.com/66/199481236_dc98b5abb3_s.jpg' />, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi, hi"; ?> Also, even if there are no other items than what is displayed, I'm still able to scroll back, but not forward, assumingly because my item is always placed at the end of the carousel. I know it looks like a lot of code but it's really not! My formatting takes a lot of lines, the commented CSS takes a lot, and a lot of the code is HTML and jCarousel configuration, and there's also the BounceEasing effect which takes a few lines. There's not much actual code! So as I said, this is urgent and I need this fixed. But I can't get it to work. Please help me! Thanks for your time! EDIT: I changed the code a bit, but it still does not work. I really need help on this one!! EDIT: I added document.createElement("li"); to each while loop. Now all my items are displayed, but they are displayed vertically and not horizontally on each row. Other than that all other problems are the same. EDIT: Oh and also, in the row my image displays, only the image is there. Maybe jCarousel doesn't accept img and text, I don't know.

  • How to get compatibility between C# and SQL2k8 AES Encryption?

    - by Victor Rodrigues
    I have an AES encryption being made on two columns: one of these columns is stored at a SQL Server 2000 database; the other is stored at a SQL Server 2008 database. As the first column's database (2000) doesn't have native functionality for encryption / decryption, we've decided to do the cryptography logic at application level, with .NET classes, for both. But as the second column's database (2008) allow this kind of functionality, we'd like to make the data migration using the database functions to be faster, since the data migration in SQL 2k is much smaller than this second and it will last more than 50 hours because of being made at application level. My problem started at this point: using the same key, I didn't achieve the same result when encrypting a value, neither the same result size. Below we have the full logic in both sides.. Of course I'm not showing the key, but everything else is the same: private byte[] RijndaelEncrypt(byte[] clearData, byte[] Key) { var memoryStream = new MemoryStream(); Rijndael algorithm = Rijndael.Create(); algorithm.Key = Key; algorithm.IV = InitializationVector; var criptoStream = new CryptoStream(memoryStream, algorithm.CreateEncryptor(), CryptoStreamMode.Write); criptoStream.Write(clearData, 0, clearData.Length); criptoStream.Close(); byte[] encryptedData = memoryStream.ToArray(); return encryptedData; } private byte[] RijndaelDecrypt(byte[] cipherData, byte[] Key) { var memoryStream = new MemoryStream(); Rijndael algorithm = Rijndael.Create(); algorithm.Key = Key; algorithm.IV = InitializationVector; var criptoStream = new CryptoStream(memoryStream, algorithm.CreateDecryptor(), CryptoStreamMode.Write); criptoStream.Write(cipherData, 0, cipherData.Length); criptoStream.Close(); byte[] decryptedData = memoryStream.ToArray(); return decryptedData; } This is the SQL Code sample: open symmetric key columnKey decryption by password = N'{pwd!!i_ll_not_show_it_here}' declare @enc varchar(max) set @enc = dbo.VarBinarytoBase64(EncryptByKey(Key_GUID('columnKey'), 'blablabla')) select LEN(@enc), @enc This varbinaryToBase64 is a tested sql function we use to convert varbinary to the same format we use to store strings in the .net application. The result in C# is: eg0wgTeR3noWYgvdmpzTKijkdtTsdvnvKzh+uhyN3Lo= The same result in SQL2k8 is: AI0zI7D77EmqgTQrdgMBHAEAAACyACXb+P3HvctA0yBduAuwPS4Ah3AB4Dbdj2KBGC1Dk4b8GEbtXs5fINzvusp8FRBknF15Br2xI1CqP0Qb/M4w I just didn't get yet what I'm doing wrong. Do you have any ideas? EDIT: One point I think is crucial: I have one Initialization Vector at my C# code, 16 bytes. This IV is not set at SQL symmetric key, could I do this? But even not filling the IV in C#, I get very different results, both in content and length.

  • How does dereferencing of a function pointer happen?

    - by eSKay
    Why and how does dereferencing a function pointer just "do nothing"? This is what I am talking about: #include<stdio.h> void hello() { printf("hello"); } int main(void) { (*****hello)(); } From a comment over here: function pointers dereference just fine, but the resulting function designator will be immediately converted back to a function pointer And from an answer here: Dereferencing (in way you think) a function's pointer means: accessing a CODE memory as it would be a DATA memory. Function pointer isn't suppose to be dereferenced in that way. Instead, it is called. I would use a name "dereference" side by side with "call". It's OK. Anyway: C is designed in such a way that both function name identifier as well as variable holding function's pointer mean the same: address to CODE memory. And it allows to jump to that memory by using call () syntax either on an identifier or variable. How exactly does dereferencing of a function pointer work?

  • Collection wrapping a array is read-only. Possible to make it writeable without casting?

    - by Brian Triplett
    I have a Collection<T> property that wraps a array like T[] array; public Collection<T> Items { get { return new Collection<T>(array); } } When I attempt to assign to the collection via: T variable; Items[i] = variable; I get a NotSupportedException because the colleciton's IsReadOnly property is true. Turns out that this is a design choice by Microsoft. Does anyone know a workaround that does NOT involve enumeration? It could be done if the underlying data is not an array but I enjoy the performance gains because the data is fixed length.

  • How to check value of stored procedure output parameter

    - by Anna T
    I have a stored procedure that: A. inserts some rows into a "table variable" based on some joins B. selects all values from column x from that table into a string with comma separated values C. selects all from the "table variable" If I execute the procedure like this: EXEC CatalogGetFilmDetails2 2,111111; a table is returned as instructed per step C above. How can I execute it so that also the output parameter value is displayed? (see point B above). I need to check if it's calculated properly. And since the second parameter is of output type, meaning it's calculated inside the procedure, why is it mandatory to specify a value for it when executing the procedure? I normally use a random value for it, it anyway doesn't matter/impact the result. On the other hand if I try to execute it without the output parameter, it returns an error) Thank you very much! This is how the procedure starts: CREATE PROCEDURE CatalogGetFilmDetails2 (@FilmID int, @CommaSepString VARCHAR(50) OUTPUT) AS And this is how @CommaSepString is calculated: SELECT @CommaSepString = STUFF((SELECT ', ' + Categ FROM @Filme1 FOR XML PATH('')), 1,1,'')

  • Access: Reading deleted record buffer

    - by Michael Itzoe
    According to the Access (2003) documentation, when you delete a record, it's placed in a buffer, then the BeforeDeleteConfirm event is raised, then the AfterConfirmDelete ad Delete events. In my table if a record is deleted, I need to add one of its field values (a quantity value) to a field in another table. I tried setting the quantity to a private variable in the Current event, but as soon as I delete click delete, it looks like the Current event fires again and resets my variable. How can I access the value of a field in a deleted record?

  • Java regex replace multiple file paths in a large String

    - by Joe Goble
    So a Regex pro I am not, and I'm looking for a good way to do this. I have a large string which contains a variable number <img> tags. I need to change the path on all of these images to images/. The large string also contains other stuff not just these img's. <img src='http://server.com/stuff1/img1.jpg' /> <img src='http://server.com/stuff2/img2.png' /> Replacing the server name with a ReplaceAll() I could do, it's the variable path in the middle I'm clueless on how to include. It doesn't necessarily need to be a regex, but looping through the entire string just seems wasteful.

  • Magick++ Read Image with ICC colorspace

    - by FlashFan
    Hi guys I need to know how I can read an image which uses a separate ICC Color Profile. The image consists of 26'099'520 Bytes which is the result of 2480 width* 3508 height * 3 components per pixel. I tried it with the following code: Image * image = new Image(); Blob * blob = new Blob(imagedata.c_str(),imagedata.length()); image->read(*blob,Geometry(2480,3508),8,"RGB"); Blob * iccblob = new Blob(iccdata.c_str(),iccdata.length()); image->iccColorProfile(*iccblob); image->write("result.jpg"); But the colors are the same as when I don´t set the Icc-profile to the image. And the colors are wrong in both cases. Thanks for your help!

  • LsaAddAccountRights not working for me

    - by SteveL
    Using: Delphi 2010 and the JEDI Windows API and JWSCL I am trying to assign the Logon As A Service privilege to a user using LsaAddAccountRights function but it does not work ie. after the function returns, checking in Group Policy Editor shows that the user still does not have the above mentioned privilege. • Passing expression as a parameter in Call by reference

Is optimizing an enclosure something that the javascript interpretter does automatically? What does it do?

  • What is the easiest way to reference libraries in Qt projects?

    - by Jake Petroules
    I have two Qt4 Gui Application projects and one shared library project, all referenced under a .pro file with the "subdirs" template. So, it's like: exampleapp.pro app1.pro app2.pro sharedlib.pro Now, what I want to do is reference sharedlib from app1 and app2 so that every time I run app1.exe, I don't have to manually copy sharedlib.dll from its own folder to app1.exe's folder. I could set PATH environment variable in the projects window, but this isn't very portable. I've looked at putting the LIBS variable in the app1.pro file, but I'm not sure if that refers to statically linked libraries only - I've tried it with various syntaxes and it doesn't seem to work with shared libs.

  • java get file paths

    - by user283188
    hey everybody, I have a jsp page which contains the code which prints all files in a given directory and their file paths. The code is if (dir.isDirectory()) { File[] dirs = dir.listFiles(); for (File f : dirs) { if (f.isDirectory() && !f.isHidden()) { File files[] = f.listFiles(); for (File d : files) { if (d.isFile() && !d.isHidden()) { System.out.println(d.getName()+ d.getParent() + (d.length()/1024)); } } } if (f.isFile() && !f.isHidden()) { System.out.println(f.getName()+ f.getParent() + (f.length()/1024)); } } } The problem is that it prints the complete file path, which when accessed from tomcat is invalid. For example, the code spits out the following path: /usr/local/tomcat/sites/web_tech/images/scores/blah.jpg and I want it to only print the path up to /images ie /images/scores/blah.jpg I know I could just mess around with an actual string, ie splitting it or string matching, but is there an easier way to do it? Thanks

  • Changing text depending on rounded total from database

    - by NeonBlue Bliss
    On a website I have a number of small PHP scripts to automate changes to the text of the site, depending on a figure that's calculated from a MySQL database. The site is for a fundraising group, and the text in question on the home page gives the total amount raised. The amount raised is pulled from the database and rounded to the nearest thousand. This is the PHP I use to round the figure and find the last three digits of the total: $query4 = mysql_query("SELECT SUM(amountraised) AS full_total FROM fundraisingtotal;"); $result4 = mysql_fetch_array($query4); $fulltotal = $result4["full_total"]; $num = $fulltotal + 30000; $ftotalr = round($num,-3); $roundnum = round($num); $string = $roundnum; $length = strlen($string); $characters = 3; $start = $length - $characters; $string = substr($string , $start ,$characters); $figure = $string; (£30,000 is the amount that had been raised by the previous fundraising team from when the project first started, which is why I've added 30000 to $fulltotal for the $num variable) Currently the text reads: the bookstall and other fundraising events have raised more than &pound;<? echo number_format($ftotalr); ?> I've just realised though that because the PHP is rounding to the nearest thousand, if the total's for example £39,200 and it's rounded to £40,000, to say it's more than £40,000 is incorrect, and in that case I'd need it to say 'almost £40,000' or something similar. I obviously need to replace the 'more than' with a variable. Obviously I need to test whether the last three digits of the total are nearer to 0 or 1000, so that if the total was for example £39,2000, the text would read 'just over', if it was between £39,250 and £39,400 something like 'over', between £39,400 and £39,700 something like 'well over', and between £39,700 and £39,999, 'almost.' I've managed to get the last three digits of the total as a variable, and I think I need some sort of an if/else/elseif code block (not sure if that would be the right approach, or whether to use case/break), and obviously I'm going to have to check whether the figure meets each of the criteria, but I can't figure out how to do that. Could anyone suggest what would be the best way to do this please?

  • VS2010's "Public Property <PropertyName> As <DataType> vs. Public var

    - by Velika2
    In VS2008, I used to type Public Property <PropName> As <dataType> and hit the Enter key and the IDE editor would automatically expand it out to a full blown property block. Now, from what I understand, a new feature of 2010 is that the compiler automatically "expands" the short syntax above into the same IL code that you would get with the full property GET AND SET sub methods that were are accustomed to seeing before in the editor. But functionality, how the heck is this any different than just having a Public class level variable? If the only diff is what it compiles to and if otehrwise there is no functional difference, isn't the new way less efficient than the old since it involves more code than just having a class level memory variable? Public as I thought that if you weren't going to have code behind your properties that they were essentially the same. I guess the diffrenece is that they just added the keyword "Property" but functionality, their is no diff, eh?

I'm using the following code to generate a sparkline chart in the div #traffic_bos_ss: //Display Visitor Screen Size Stats $.getJSON('models/ucp/traffic/traffic_display_bos.php', { type: 'ss', server: server, api: api, ip: ip, }, function(data) { var values = data.views; //alert(values); $('#traffic_bos_ss').sparkline(values, { type: "pie", height: "100%", tooltipFormat: 'data.screen - {{value}}', }); }); The JSON string fetched: {"screen":"1220x1080, 1620x1080, 1920x1080","views":"[2, 2, 61]"} For some reason Sparklines does not process the variable values. When I alert the variable it outputs "[2, 2, 61]". Now the jQuery code does work when I replace the snippet: var values = data.views; with var values = [2, 2, 61]; What am I doing wrong?

    This is my code: <html> <head> <title>scoreboard</title> <script> function calculate() { var sum=0; var total=0; for (var i=0; i < document.questions.group1.length; i++){ if (document.questions.group1[i].checked){ sum = parseInt(document.questions.group1[i].value) total = parseInt(total + sum);}} for (var i=0; i < document.questions.group2.length; i++){ if (document.questions.group2[i].checked){ sum = parseInt(document.questions.group2[i].value) total = parseInt(total + sum);}} for (var i=0; i < document.questions.group3.length; i++){ if (document.questions.group3[i].checked){ sum = parseInt(document.questions.group3[i].value) total = parseInt(total + sum);}} alert(total) } </script> </head> <body> <form name="questions"> A:<br> answer a1: <input type="radio" name="group1" value="0"> answer a2: <input type="radio" name="group1" value="1"> answer a3: <input type="radio" name="group1" value="2"> answer a4: <input type="radio" name="group1" value="3"><br> B:<br> answer b1: <input type="radio" name="group2" value="0"> answer b2: <input type="radio" name="group2" value="1"> answer b3: <input type="radio" name="group2" value="2"> answer b4: <input type="radio" name="group2" value="3"><br> C:<br> answer c1: <input type="radio" name="group3" value="0"> answer c2: <input type="radio" name="group3" value="1"> answer c3: <input type="radio" name="group3" value="2"> answer c4: <input type="radio" name="group3" value="3"><br><br> <input type="button" value="total" onclick="calculate()"> </form> </body> </html> How can I replace 'group[x]' in my code by a variable, so the three for-loops are replaced by one (because in reality there are a lot more questions and answers) ?

  • C++ Sentinel/Count Controlled Loop beginning programming

    - by Bryan Hendricks
    Hello all this is my first post. I'm working on a homework assignment with the following parameters. Piecework Workers are paid by the piece. Often worker who produce a greater quantity of output are paid at a higher rate. 1 - 199 pieces completed $0.50 each 200 - 399 $0.55 each (for all pieces) 400 - 599 $0.60 each 600 or more $0.65 each Input: For each worker, input the name and number of pieces completed. Name Pieces Johnny Begood 265 Sally Great 650 Sam Klutz 177 Pete Precise 400 Fannie Fantastic 399 Morrie Mellow 200 Output: Print an appropriate title and column headings. There should be one detail line for each worker, which shows the name, number of pieces, and the amount earned. Compute and print totals of the number of pieces and the dollar amount earned. Processing: For each person, compute the pay earned by multiplying the number of pieces by the appropriate price. Accumulate the total number of pieces and the total dollar amount paid. Sample Program Output: Piecework Weekly Report Name Pieces Pay Johnny Begood 265 145.75 Sally Great 650 422.50 Sam Klutz 177 88.5 Pete Precise 400 240.00 Fannie Fantastic 399 219.45 Morrie Mellow 200 110.00 Totals 2091 1226.20 You are required to code, compile, link, and run a sentinel-controlled loop program that transforms the input to the output specifications as shown in the above attachment. The input items should be entered into a text file named piecework1.dat and the ouput file stored in piecework1.out . The program filename is piecework1.cpp. Copies of these three files should be e-mailed to me in their original form. Read the name using a single variable as opposed to two different variables. To accomplish this, you must use the getline(stream, variable) function as discussed in class, except that you will replace the cin with your textfile stream variable name. Do not forget to code the compiler directive #include < string at the top of your program to acknowledge the utilization of the string variable, name . Your nested if-else statement, accumulators, count-controlled loop, should be properly designed to process the data correctly. The code below will run, but does not produce any output. I think it needs something around line 57 like a count control to stop the loop. something like (and this is just an example....which is why it is not in the code.) count = 1; while (count <=4) Can someone review the code and tell me what kind of count I need to introduce, and if there are any other changes that need to be made. Thanks. [code] //COS 502-90 //November 2, 2012 //This program uses a sentinel-controlled loop that transforms input to output. #include <iostream> #include <fstream> #include <iomanip> //output formatting #include <string> //string variables using namespace std; int main() { double pieces; //number of pieces made double rate; //amout paid per amount produced double pay; //amount earned string name; //name of worker ifstream inFile; ofstream outFile; //***********input statements**************************** inFile.open("Piecework1.txt"); //opens the input text file outFile.open("piecework1.out"); //opens the output text file outFile << setprecision(2) << showpoint; outFile << name << setw(6) << "Pieces" << setw(12) << "Pay" << endl; outFile << "_____" << setw(6) << "_____" << setw(12) << "_____" << endl; getline(inFile, name, '*'); //priming read inFile >> pieces >> pay >> rate; // ,, while (name != "End of File") //while condition test { //begining of loop pay = pieces * rate; getline(inFile, name, '*'); //get next name inFile >> pieces; //get next pieces } //end of loop inFile.close(); outFile.close(); return 0; }[/code]

  • Background-image won't change using jquery in IE6

    - by slav
    There is a panel on my page with no default background-image css. On load it is set with jquery to an initial image, waits for 10 seconds then loads a random image out of some predetermined images. There are previous and next buttons which allow you to cycle through the images. In ie6 the initial image loads and then a random image also loads after 10 seconds, however pressing prev/next causes the background to become white and the images aren't loaded. With alerts I was able to find that it's still keeping track of the position and url of the image it's supposed to load, but just won't load it. Here is the code below. <script type="text/javascript"> var facts = new Array(); var position; $(document).ready(function() { <xsl:for-each select="$currentPage/ancestor-or-self::node[@level=1]/../node[@nodeName='Fun Fact Folder']/node"> facts[<xsl:value-of select="position()" />] = '<xsl:value-of select="." />'; </xsl:for-each> if(window.location.pathname == "/homepage.aspx" || window.location.pathname == "/") { $(".fun_facts_bg").css("background-image", "url(images/fun_fact_homepage.JPG)"); setTimeout("randomFact()",10000); } else { randomFact(); } }); function randomFact() { $("a.previous_button").css("display", "block"); $("a.next_button").css("display", "block"); position = Math.ceil(Math.random() * (facts.length - 1)); changeFact(0); } function changeFact(increment) { position = checkPosition(position, increment); $(".fun_facts_bg").css("background-image", "url(" + facts[position] + ")"); } <xsl:text disable-output-escaping="yes">&lt;!--//--&gt;&lt;![CDATA[//&gt;&lt;!-- function checkPosition(currentPos, increment) { currentPos = currentPos + increment; if (currentPos &gt; facts.length - 1) { currentPos = 1; } else if (currentPos &lt; 1) { currentPos = facts.length - 1; } return currentPos; } //--&gt;&lt;!]]&gt;</xsl:text> </script> <a class="previous_button" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="changeFact(-1);"> <a class="next_button" href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="changeFact(1);">
