    Hi all, I have a question about invoking air in air,please give me some advice. I want to use air technology in enterprise business,and I think widget manager(engine) like google desktop,vista sidebar is a good system entrypoint.so I look for a widget manager basing AIR,the widget manager can load air widget, and auto upgrade widget silently ,and have a cool user-interface like google desktop or vista sidebar or yahoo's. Any product existed and recommend?and if I need to implement myself,any idea or advice?How can I embed the widget interface into the manager(engine) interface seamless,how can I invoke the specified window(maybe not the init window) in the widget air application from the manager?   • Is there a workaround to the disappearing Perl/Tk text widget scrollbar for right justified content?

    I've come across a bug I believe in Perl/Tk 804.027 Text Widget (using Scrollable('ROText')). When I add a tag that selects all and apply the configuration change to justify to the right, the scrollbars do not show up. If I comment out the tagConfigure where I justify to the right, the scrollbars come back. Does anyone have a workaround or fix for being able to right justify a text widget's contents (includes text and embedded entry widgets) and still have functional horizontal scrollbars?

  • How to access localhost websites through http request from blackberry simulator?

    Hi Everybody I am developing a blackberry application and i wanted to access the websites from my localhost( local machine). I am running the application on blackberry simulator 8350. From my code i can browse request any website from internet and i am getting the response. When i am trying to give the url as localhost:8080/portal/index.php, its displaying me a erro message HTTP Error 404 description The requested resource (/portal/index.php) is not available. I am running my apache webserver on port 8080 over windows. How can i access my local machine website from blackberry simulator? Please help and guide me. Thanks SIA

    The developer documentation has seemed to have failed me here. I can create a static widget without thinking, I can even create a widget like the analogue clock widget that will update itself, however, I can not for the life of me figure out how to create a widget that reacts to when a user clicks on it. Here is the best code sample that the developer documentation gives to what a widget activity should contain (the only other hint being the API demos, which only creates a static widget): public class ExampleAppWidgetProvider extends AppWidgetProvider { public void onUpdate(Context context, AppWidgetManager appWidgetManager, int[] appWidgetIds) { final int N = appWidgetIds.length; // Perform this loop procedure for each App Widget that belongs to this provider for (int i=0; i<N; i++) { int appWidgetId = appWidgetIds[i]; // Create an Intent to launch ExampleActivity Intent intent = new Intent(context, ExampleActivity.class); PendingIntent pendingIntent = PendingIntent.getActivity(context, 0, intent, 0); // Get the layout for the App Widget and attach an on-click listener to the button RemoteViews views = new RemoteViews(context.getPackageName(), R.layout.appwidget_provider_layout); views.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.button, pendingIntent); // Tell the AppWidgetManager to perform an update on the current App Widget appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(appWidgetId, views); } } } from: The Android Developer Documentation's Widget Page So, it looks like pending intent is called when the widget is clicked, which is based off of an intent (I'm not quite sure what the difference between an intent and a pending intent is), and the intent is for the ExampleActivity class. So I made my sample activity class a simple activity that when created, would create a mediaplayer object, and start it (it wouldn't ever release the object, so it would eventually crash, here is it's code: @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); MediaPlayer mp = MediaPlayer.create(getApplicationContext(), R.raw.sound); mp.start(); } However, when I added the widget to the home screen, and clicked on it, nothing played, in fact, nothing played when I set the update timer to just a few hundred milliseconds (in the appwidget provider xml file). Furthermore, I set break points and found out that not only was it never reaching the activity, but no break points I set would ever get triggered. (I still haven't figured out why that is), however, logcat seemed to indicate that the activity class file was being run. So, is there anything I can do to get an appwidget to respond to a click? As the onClickPendingIntent() method is the closest I have found to a onClick type of method. Thank you very much.

    Hi there. I have a php web page that will randomize an image that is 158x154. I was able to get the android application to work, but would also like to get it to work as a widget. How the heck can I get a widget to pull information from the net? I got the widget to work and layout correctly with a black sample image. I have tried to look at the wiki sample, but it is a bit too complicated for my little brain to grasp.     I'm writing an application that will use plugins. In the plugin I want to include a widget that allows the options for that plugin to be setup. The plugin will also include methods to operate on the data. What is is the best way to include a widget in a plugin? Below is pseudo code for what I've tried to do. My original plan was to make the options widget: class myOptionsWidget(QWidget): “”” create widget for plug in options “”” …. Next I planned on including the widget in my plugin: class myPlugin def __init__(self): self.optionWidget = myOptionsWidget() self.pluginNum = 1 …. def getOptionWidget(self): return(self.optionWidget) Then at the top level I'd do something like a = myPlugin() form = createForm(option=a.getOptionWidget()) … where createForm would create the form and include my plugin options widget. But when I try "a = myPlugin()" I get the error "QWidget: Must construct a QApplication before a QpaintDevice" so this method won't work. I know I would store the widget as a string and call eval on it but I'd rather not do that in case later on I want to convert the program to C++. What is the best way to write a plugin that includes a widget that has the options? Brian

  • QT4 Designer - Implement Widget

    I'm currently trying to get into QT4 and figure out a workflow for myself. While trying to create a widget which allows the user to connect to a hostname:port some questions appeared. The widget itself contains a LineEdit for entering the hostname, a SpinBox for entering the port and a PushButton which should emit a connect(QString hostname, unsigned int port) signal. In QTDesigner I created the necessary Form. It is saved as a .ui-File. Now the big question is how could I implement the widget? Is there a place in QTDesigner where I could add my signal to the Widget? Where could I add custom Properties? I've learned in another tutorial, which showed how to create a Widget in C++, how signals, slots, Q_PROPERTIES etc are defined and added to the widget. But there is no sourcecode in QTDesigner. Another option would be to generate sourcecode using uic. But the header says, that another generate would overwrite any changes to the sourcefiles. So how can I create a QT-widget completely with my own signals, slots and properties by using the QTDesigner for creating the UI and not having to recode everything whenever the UI is changing. Is there some kind of Roundtrip-Engineering? If thats not possible: Whats the sense of creating a Widget with QTDesigner then?
