  • Setting the value (selected option) of a dijit.form.Select widget

    I have a dijit.form.Select widget. It's tied to a data store, if that matters. It's filled with several options already. All I want to do is programmatically set its value. I can get its value using myWidget.attr('value') but if I try to do myWidget.attr('value', 5) for example (where 5 is one of the valid values), all it does is reset the widget to select the very first option, no matter what value I give it. This seems to be a bug, and there aren't any tests or documentation which show how to accomplish what I want to. But is there some way, even if it's a dirty hack? I'm using Dojo 1.4.0. Note that dijit.form.Select is the new name for dojox.form.DropDownSelect. edit: I even tried resetting the widget with all new options, but it ignores the option which has selected = true and just selects the first option. There must still be a way though.

    I have one label field and three buttons with the name of red, yellow, blue. If I click the red button then the label field font color should be change to red; similarly if I click the yellow button then the font color should change to yellow; likewise according to the button color the color of font should change in the label field.     Hello all, I have this really annoying problem: In my widget, i would like to change the background by code. I noticed on the Google doc than I can easily change the background of an Imageview: remoteViews.setImageViewResource(R.id.my_iv, R.drawable.my_bg); Ok, too easy, i want to change now the Linear layout.. What I read about the remoteview id that I can change a Bitmap, Int, Bool, String, etc... but not a drawable. So i guess i cannot use: remoteViews.setBitmap(R.id.my_ll,"setBackgroundDrawable",BitmapFactory.decodeResource(context.getResources(), R.drawablemy_bg)); I am totally disapointed and tried a last idea: views.setInt(R.id.my_ll,"setBackgroundResource",R.drawable.my_bg); But The logcat told me: android.widget.RemoteViews$ActionException:view: android.widget.LinearLayout can't use method with RemoteViews: setBackgroundResource(int) I am totally lost and I really don't know what to do...     I'm having a problem accessing the contents of an XML document. My goal is this: Take an XML source and parse it into a fair equivalent of an associative array, then store it as a persistable object. the xml is pretty simple: <root> <element> <category_id>1</category_id> <name>Cars</name> </element> <element> <category_id>2</category_id> <name>Boats</name> </element> </root> Basic java class below. However, I have been at this for days now. I can never seem to get all child nodes, or the name / value pair. When I print out the vector as a string, I usually end up with results like this: [{ = root, = element}] and that's it. No "category_id", no "name" Ideally, I would end up with something like [{1 = cars, 2 = boats}] Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Hello! I'm seeking for solution how to isolate widget included by partial to main site. Issue appear when user access site with https. Ie 6,7 shows security confirmation dialog (part of website resources are not in secure zone). First of all I download twitter widget on our side, also I download all CSS and pictures. Then I patched widget JS to point onto downloaded resources. But still has not luck with security warning :( I guess the reason of this issue is AJAX request to twitter, but there is no idea how to sole it. (Just to create some kind of proxy on our side).   • How to highlight clicks in app widget?

    Hi everyone, I have an app widget which runs neatly. However, I am unable to highlight a click on a linked item. I've seen it in the standard app widgets like 'Music' and 'Power Control', for instance. Moreover, I've also been studying the Music app widget's source at album_appwidget.xml. The only thing I could think of is the LinearLayout defined at lines 23-35 which states android:clickable="true" Unfortunately, this does not work for me. So does anyone have a hint on how to highlight a click on an app widget? I've tried the LinearLayout, TextView and Button. None of them displayed a border as a highlight. Thanks in advance, Steff

    I am attempting to implement the Google Translate Widget where you include a piece of javascript code into your page and it gives you a language dropdown. This was very straightforward however, it does not work in Firefox. It works in IE, Safari, Chrome. Has anybody experience this problem and is there any workaround? With some research, it seems that people said that it used flash. However, I don't have any flashblock installed or anything like that.   • How do you save images to a Blackberry device via HttpConnection?

    My script fetches xml via httpConnection and saves to persistent store. No problems there. Then I loop through the saved data to compose a list of image url's to fetch via queue.     Since I updated jQueryUI to 1.8 I found a couple of issues in our implementations and I could fix it myself without waiting for a fix on their end if I could find out how to subclass a specific method of the datepicker widget so I call the parent code and then execute my code. I was reading on $.widget but I just can't wrap my head around how that is suppose to work. I tried something like this: $.widget("ui.datepicker", { _showDatepicker: function(input) { alert('Yo'); $.datepicker.prototype._showDatepicker.apply(this,arguments); alert('Hey!'); } }); And all sorts of other variations and beging to think I just don't understand the 'extendability' of jQueryUI or it just can't be done.     I'm building a form (not modelForm) where i'd like to use the SelectMultiple Widget to display choices based on a query done during the init of the form. I can think of a few way to do this but I am not exactly clear on the right way to do it. I see different options.     Hi, I am developing a Blackberry app which should be able to access a DB. Here is my development environment and the tools I am using: Eclipse (Galileo) IDE with the Blackberry plugin installed. Blackberry OS 5.0 SQLAnywhere's DB 11 with UltraLiteJ (I am targeting Blackberrys running OS 4.1 and above) I have successfully executed a sample project for building a Blackberry application that uses the UltraLiteJ DB, following the tutorial in the UltraLiteJ documentation*. The tutorial creates, populates and retrieves data from the DB using java code. Now, I want to be able to access the tables and view data in them from the Eclipse IDE. Something similar to the FireFox plugin for SqlLite or say the Enterprise Manager for Sql Server 2005 which is a DB Explorer providing access to the StoredProcedures, Views, DB Diagrams etc. for a Database.   • Retrieving Gtk::Widget's relative position: get_allocation() doesn't work

    I need to retrieve the position of a Gtk::Widget relative to its parent, a Gtk::Table. Most sources (e.g. http://library.gnome.org/devel/gtk-faq/stable/x642.html) say that one needs to call Gtk::Widget::get_allocation(). However, the returned Gtk::Allocation object always contains x = -1, y = -1, width = 1, height = 1. I have to note that this happens before the Gtk::Table object is actually exposed and rendered. A call to show_all_children() or check_resize(), which I would expect to recalculate child widget geometry, doesn't help. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I tried with a runnable and calling .invokeLater or .invokeAndWait but I still get the same behavior, and even if I get dirty like above using synchronized it still doesn't work. Does anyone know how I can display each label at a time? Thank you!

The problem I have is the following: when I promote the content of a QScrollArea to my widget, the scroll features doesn't works; I haven't any scroll bar or I can't see any result when I use the method 'ensureVisible(..)'.     My current code is this: int volume = Alert.getVolume(); // reads 100 Alert.setVolume(0); It DOESN'T change the volume setting, like it would be supposed to do :( Even calling Alert.mute(true) doesn't produce any good effect. Audio.setVolume(0) also doesn't work! I'm running this on a Curve 8310. I have another software installed though that successfully manages to lower the volume setting a lot...so I suppose I'm doing something wrong. Any idea?

  • I'm getting a ServerException when I try to send objects from a BlackBerry to a Server via a webserv

    I'm trying to send an array of objects wrapped in an array object wrapper to a WS via JSR172 WS calls. Using the generated stub, I'm able to download objects from the server, but I'm not able to upload objects to the server. This currently happens on all simulators in house. This is all the information I can get out of the server exception: javax.xml.rpc.JAXRPCException: java.rmi.ServerException: Server cannot handle the message because of some temporary condition. Here are the server specs: Windows 7 IIS 7 or 7.5 .NET 3.5 for the WS code written in C#. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, or knows where to look, I'd love to know. Thanks!
