• Logitech Mouse stopped working after changing batteries!

  I just changed batteries for my optical wireless Logitech mouse, but it stopped working; When I put it on, it waits a second and then keeps the green light for few seconds. After that it just stops responding and doesn't show the light even if I'm moving it. Does this have something to do with batteries? I took new, so they're not empty. And I think it cannot be on batteries, because it keeps the light first, but then just stops responding. Please help, I would be very very thankfull. This makes me mad to use this mousepad :D EDIT: Wow, what an fast answer!! Thank you, but you wanted to know this mouse? I think it's Logitech M205, watched from Logitech site, because have not the original package anymore :S I couldn't find any buttons in receiver, but mouse has button called "reset". Is that the right one?

• Problem with wake after suspend using USB remote.

  Hi, I'm a linux newbie looking for some help. I'm currently setting up an XBMC HTPC using a laptop and 10.10 and all works great except for waking from resume using the power button on the remote. The suspend works from remote works fine as does the resume using the power button on the laptop. I've checked /proc/acpi/wakeup which initially showed the following. • SD card won't appear after upgrade to 13.10

  My SD card won't mount when I put it into my lap top, everything was fine before the upgrade. The information about the SD card appears just fine when I type "sudo fdisk l " it just says that it doesn't have a valid partition table. • USB keyboard not working under Windows 7 x64?

  I have two USB keyboards, one no-name cheap thing and an old Logitech. When I plug them in to my computer they pop up in Device Manager as an "Unknown device" and "USB-receiver", respectively. Both of them fail to install any drivers, neither automatically or through Windows Update. Both keyboards work perfectly on another computer I have with Windows Vista 32-bit. Can this be one of those cases where a device does not work in a 64-bit version of Windows? I doubt it though since I've never had that problem before with any device and I thought that basic things like keyboards would be kind of failsafe. I don't really know how to start debugging this issue. I've tried all the obvious, rebooting, changing the USB port, etc. Are there any generic x64 keyboard drivers you can use? Is there any way to find the manufacturer of the keyboard over USB? There is nothing written on it.

• Exim: Change sender address when sending mails out of local network

  We have a working exim setup at a site, where users can send and receive mails. We are trying to setup a server to send some warnings and errors using email to an address that is outside the local network. The problem is: The program that sends the mails sends them using the username it runs under and the local hostname of the server. This cause the mails to have a sender of format: [email protected]. Exim sends these mails to the ISP's SMTP server, which rejects the mails as they have an illegal or unverifiable sender (the internal address). I'm thinking I should configure exim to rewrite the sender when: - sender's domain is on the local network - receiver's domain is outside the local network I tried setting some kind of rewriting in the exim config, but did not manage to get it to work. I'd show what I have tried, but I ran out of time on the last visit to the site, and had to revert to the original version losing all the changes I tried.

• Serializing network messages

  I am writing a network wrapper around boost::asio and was wondering what is a good and simple way to serialize my messages. I have a message factory which can take care of dispatching the data to the correct builder, but I want to know if there are any established solutions for getting the binary data on the sender side and consequently passing the data for deserialization on the receiver end. Some options I've explored are: passing a pointer to a char[] to the serialize/deserialize functions (for serialize to write to, and deserialize to read from), but it's difficult to enforce buffer size this way; building on that, I decided to have the serialize function return a boost::asio::mutable_buffer, however ownership of the memory gets blurred between multiple classes, as the network wrapper needs to clean up the memory allocated by the message builder. I have also seen solutions involving streambuf's and stringstream's, but manipulating binary data in terms of its string representation is something I want to avoid. Is there some sort of binary stream I can use instead? What I am looking for is a solution (preferrably using boost libs) that lets the message builder dictate the amount of memory allocated during serialization and what that would look like in terms of passing the data around between the wrapper and message factory/message builders. PS. Messages contain almost exclusively built-in types and PODs and form a shallow but wide hierarchy for the sake of going through a factory. Note: a link to examples of using boost::serialization for something like this would be appreciated as I'm having difficulties figuring out the relation between it and buffers.

• Switch to another CPanel server, restore mailbox, how to stop Outlook POP3 pull mail data again.

  Hi, We switch from a linux CPanel server to another CPanel server, all the setting and file is restore back to the new Linux CPanel server. E.g [email protected] , inside the server I got 100mails. It had been downloaded to my Outlook, my outlook also got 100 mails inside. After I switch to new server, the 100 mail in the old server had been transfer to new server. However, when I open my Outlook, it start to download the 100 mails again, that means I got 200 mails in my mailbox and it is duplicated. How can I stop Outlook to download. The time stamp, receiver and sender is exactly the same. We want to keep a backup in the server, because we don't have a physical server to keep the mail. That why we would like to transfer the mailbox to the new server. Anyone have solution to stop Outlook download again?

• Wireless connection disconnects and reconnects with a Netgear WNA1000

  Ever since I made the permanent switch from Vista to Ubuntu i've had wireless connectivity problems. From watching the network manager when it disconnects it seems like it turns off the receiver for some reason. Could it be bad drivers? I used their install software and the site doesn't really offer driver downloads. The adapter is a Netgear WNA1000 if memory serves, and I don't know much about the router except that it's a Motorola Surfboard. • No surround sound over HDMI

  I have my Pioneer receiver hooked up to my AMD HD4600m which supports audio output over HDMI. I used to work fine, however, after a recent driver update, it will only output stereo sound. It used to output 5.1 surround sound perfectly. Windows does not seem to recognize the device as capable of 5.1. In the past, 5.1 was given as an option in the configuration window, like this: I can not get it to properly recognize the capabilities of the device. I have tried uninstalling the relevant audio device in device manager, and I have also completely removed and reinstalled the display driver. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

• Creating deterministic key pairs in javascript for use in encrypting/decrypting/signing messages

  So I have been searching everywhere and havn't been able to find anything with the sufficient information I need.. so Im a bit stumped on this one at the moment What I am trying to do is create a public/private key pair (like PGP) upon a users account creation, based on their passphrase and a random seed. The public key would be saved on the server, and ideally the private key would never be seen by the server whatsoever. The user could then sign in, and send a message to another user. Before the message is sent, the senders key pair would be re-generated on the fly based on their credentials (and maybe a password prompt) and used to encrypt the message. The receiver would then use their own re-generated private key to decrypt said message. The server itself should never see any plaintext passwords, private keys or readable messages. Bit unsure how on how I could go about implementing this. Iv been looking into PGP, specifically openPGP.js. The main trouble I am having is being able to regenerate the key-pair based off a specific seed. PGP seems to have a random output even if the inputs are the same. Storing the private key in a cookie or in HTML5 storage or something also isnt really an option, too unreliable. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Synced audio ouput on multiple machines? VLC? hardware solutions?

  I'm wondering if there is any software or hardware solutions to synced audio or audio and video across multiple computers or devices on a network. I've seen Sonos, and it might be a good solution, but it's also a very expensive solution. I'd like to be able to play something with realtime audio output on one PC, but hear it on speakers throughout the house, being it the home theater receiver, or another computer in another room. I saw a solution using the apple iport express, but the latency was unacceptable for anything other than just music. I'd like to avoid running audio wires with baluns to a bunch of amplifiers scattered all over the place when I have cat5 run everywhere. Is anyone familiar with using this kind of process for whole home audio? The latency is a big deal for me, if I've got video attached to the sound (e.g. watching a hockey game)

  I've been struggling with this "simple" task for more expirienced people, I'm stuck for 2 days now need help. I've changed things arround like zillion times now, finally I stumbled upon this spring JMS tutorial. What I want to do, Send a message and receive it. I've been also reading this book chapter 8 on messaging. It really nicely explains 2 type of messaging and there is nice example for publish-and-subscribe type but now example for point-to-point messaging( this is the one I need). Once you’ve done this, methods on the MessageConsumer enable you to either query the Destination for messages or to register for message notification. Can somebody please direct me towards right direction, is there a tutorial which explains in details how to receive message from the queue?I have the working send message code, didn't post it here because this post is too long as it is.

  Hi, I'm trying to do something which really ought to be quite easy, but it's driving me crazy. I'm trying to launch an activity when a home screen widget is pressed, such as a configuration activity for the widget. I think I've followed word for word the tutorial on the Android Developers website, and even a few unofficial tutorials as well, but I must be missing something important as it doesn't work. • BroadcastReceiver not reading stored value from SharedPreferences

  In my app I have a broadcast receiver that turns on GPS upon receiving a set string of text. In the onLocationChanged method, I want to pass the GPS data and a value from my shared preferences to a thread in a string. I have the thread writing to log and can see all the GPS values in the string but the last value from my shared preferences is just showing up as 'prefPhoneNum' which I initialised the string to at the beginning of the receiver class. • WCF service using duplex channel in different domains

  I have a WCF service and a Windows client. They communicate via a Duplex WCF channel which when I run from within a single network domain runs fine, but when I put the server on a separate network domain I get the following message in the WCF server trace... The message with to 'net.tcp://abc:8731/ActiveAreaService/mex/mex' cannot be processed at the receiver, due to an AddressFilter mismatch at the EndpointDispatcher. Check that the sender and receiver's EndpointAddresses agree. So, it looks like the communication just work in one direction (from client to server) if the components are in two separate domains. The Network domains are fully trusted, so I'm a little confused as to what else could cause this? • JOptionPane opening another JFrame

  So I'm continuing my fight with this : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2923545/creating-java-dialogs/2926126 task. Now my JOptionPane opens new window with envelope overfiew, but I can't change size of this window. Also I wanted to have sender's data in upper left corner, and receiver's data in bottom right. How can I achieve that ? There is also issue with OptionPane itself. After I click 'OK' it opens small window in the upper left corner of the screen. What is this and why it's appearing ? • Kindle Fire: PopupMenu$OrientationChangeListener leak

  I have a little popup menu that anchors on a button in the action bar. This works well on 3.0/3.1 Xoom and Galaxy tabs, and a 4.1 Nexus 7. However, on a 7" Fire HD (this one), I get an error about a leaked intent receiver when exiting the application. The error occurs only if the menu was not opened during that run. There is no mention of OrientationChangeListener in the one copy of the source I've found; I suspect Amazon has a different implementation. Questions: Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone know of a workaround or a fix? (Where) can I find Amazon's source code? Finally, (shudder) how important is it that I don't leak a receiver on application exit? • Create and Share a File (Also a mysterious error)

  My goal is to create a XML file and then send it through the share Intent. I'm able to create a XML file using this code FileOutputStream outputStream = context.openFileOutput(fileName, Context.MODE_WORLD_READABLE); PrintStream printStream = new PrintStream(outputStream); String xml = this.writeXml(); // get XML here printStream.println(xml); printStream.close(); I'm stuck trying to retrieve a Uri to the output file in order to share it. I first tried to access the file by converting the file to a Uri File outFile = context.getFileStreamPath(fileName); return Uri.fromFile(outFile); This returns file:///data/data/com.my.package/files/myfile.xml but I cannot appear to attach this to an email, upload, etc. If I manually check the file length, it's proper and shows there is a reasonable file size. Next I created a content provider and tried to reference the file and it isn't a valid handle to the file. The ContentProvider doesn't ever seem to be called a any point. Uri uri = Uri.parse("content://" + CachedFileProvider.AUTHORITY + "/" + fileName); return uri; This returns content://com.my.package.provider/myfile.xml but I check the file and it's zero length. How do I access files properly? Do I need to create the file with the content provider? If so, how? Update Here is the code I'm using to share. • Failure connecting to Dell MD3200i from XenServer 6.2 pool

  This question also asked at Citrix Forums http://forums.citrix.com/thread.jspa?threadID=332289 I have a MD3200i that is currently working fine with my Xen5.6 pool, but I cannot get a connection to the new 6.2 pool to work. I previously had a problem with a 6.0 upgrade (which is why the old pool is still on 5.6), but rolled back rather than fix it as it wasn't urgent at the time. This install is on new machines - I tried 6.1 first (which had the same problems) then 6.2 was released the second day after installation so I switched to that. I've not installed anything from the Dell resource DVD at this point - I can't find anything saying I should, and everything I have read suggests it shouldn't be necessary. I can ping all 8 ip addresses from both servers in the pool, iscsiadm -m discovery works fine, I can login to the nodes and iscsiadm reports the sessions active correctly. I've added the required sections to multipath.conf, but multipath -ll reports DM multipath kernel driver not loaded immediately after boot. • Different Versions of an application in same java application server

  Hi, We are utilizing citrix netscalar with more than 20 glassfish java application servers. Unfortunately we have to remove previous application before deploying a new version of it since we have same context for these two different application. This error-prone process leads some problems due to lack of attention in builds or other problems. In an urgent case, we simply want to redirect to all traffic to previous application. What is the best practice to run different version of an application in a substantial number of servers in same time? Thanks
