• Find java classes implementing an interface

  Some time ago, I came across a piece of code, that used some piece of standard java functionality to locate the classes that implemented a given interface. I know the the functions were hidden in some non logical place, but they could be used for other classes as the package name implied. Back then I did not need it, so I forgot about it, but now I do, and I can't seem to find the functions again. Does anyone know where to find these functions? edit: I'm not looking for any IDE functions or anything, but rather something that can be executed within the java application.

  Hi, this should be pretty simple, but i forgot how to do it... I've got a Border on a canvas, and i want to be able to move it around. i could do this easily with the MouseDragElementBehavior. but i don't want smooth movment, i want to to jump on the Y axis in an offset of 30. and on the X in 193. And it's done in MVVM, so i guess i should implement it as a behavior, right? anyway, how do i do this?

• Invisible Delimiter for Strings in HTML

  I need a way to identify certain strings in HTML markup. I know what the strings are, but it is possible that they could be substrings of other strings in the document. To find them, I output a special delimiter character (currently using \032). On page load, we go through the HTML and record the location of the strings, and remove the delimiter. Unfortunately, most browsers show the delimiter character until we can find and remove them all. I'd like to avoid that if possible. Is there a character or string that will be preserved in the HTML content (so a comment wont work) but wont be visible to the user? It also needs to be something that is fairly unlikely to appear next to a string, so something like &nbsp; wouldn't work either. EDIT: Sorry, I forgot to mention that the strings will be in attributes, so any sort of tag wont work.

• Why wont my .NET 3.5 app run on fresh installation of windows7?

  In C:\Program Files\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework i see v3.0 and v3.5. I found that path in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\.NETFramework\InstallRoot which also has that path. In C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework i see versions from 1 to 3.5 My app was built in msvs2010rc1 targeting 3.5. In fact in my project files i see v3.5. So whats with this? Why cant i run it? -edit- The application crashes on double click. With no exception dialog. Ok i see the problem. Sorry guys :$. I hope this post serves as a reference to someone else. I completely forgot that my app uses SDL.NET and i am use to C++ telling me i have forgotten a DLL.

  As part of a rewrite of an old Java application into C#, I'm writing an actual Software Design Specification. A problem I run into is when a method is too simple to bother with a Sequence Diagram (it doesn't interact with other objects). As an example, I have a simple POJO called Item, containing the following method: public String getCategoryKey() { StringBuffer value = new StringBuffer("s-"); value.append(this.getModelID()); value.append("-c"); return value; } The purpose and the algorithm for the method needs to be documented. However, a sequence diagram is overkill. How would others document it? (I take no credit/blame for the given method, it's very old code and the author "forgot" to put their name in the Javadoc).

  Hello all As the title says, I want to truncate user-input text string based on the width and height of a designated container. My specification is to truncate the string, display some message like Read More at the end and when user clicks on it, the text slides down. UPDATE: Ah! Forgot one thing. • Fixing "Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction" for a 'stuck" Mysql table?

  From a script I sent a query like this thousands of times to my local database: update some_table set some_column = some_value I forgot to add the where part, so the same column was set to the same a value for all the rows in the table and this was done thousands of times and the column was indexed, so the corresponding index was probably updated too lots of times. I noticed something was wrong, because it took too long, so I killed the script. I even rebooted my computer since them, but something stuck in the table, because simple queries take a very long time to run and when I try dropping the relevant index it fails with this message: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction It's an innodb table, so stuck the transaction is probably implicit. How can I fix this table and remove the stuck transaction from it?

• Resharper: how to force introducing new private fields at the bottom of the class?

  Resharper offers a very useful introduce and initialize field xxx action when you specify a new parameter in a constructor like: Constructor (int parameter) The only (minor) nuisance is that it puts the new field at the beginning of the class - and I'm a fan of putting private parts as far away as possible from the prying eyes of strangers ;). If, however, you already have some private fields in the class, Resharper will put the new field "correctly" (note the quotes, I don't want to start a flame war over this issue) next to those, even if they are at the end of the class. Is there a way to force Resharper to always put new fields at the end of the class? UPDATE: OK, I forgot to mention I know about the "Type Members Layout in Options" feature, but some concrete help on how to modify the template to achieve fields placement would be nice.

• C++: Why don't I need to check if references are invalid/null?

  Hi all, Reading http://www.cprogramming.com/tutorial/references.html, it says: In general, references should always be valid because you must always initialize a reference. This means that barring some bizarre circumstances (see below), you can be certain that using a reference is just like using a plain old non-reference variable. You don't need to check to make sure that a reference isn't pointing to NULL, and you won't get bitten by an uninitialized reference that you forgot to allocate memory for. My question is how do I know that the object's memory hasn't been freed/deleted AFTER you've initialized the reference. What it comes down to is that I can't take this advice on faith and I need a better explanation. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks, jbu

What can be the issue? Almost forgot when I check in debug mText filed of that button in both cases, when it is displayeed and when it is not, it equals "".

• recv receiving not whole data sometime

  hi all, i have following issue: here is the chunk of code: void get_all_buf(int sock, std::string & inStr) { int n = 1; char c; char temp[1024*1024]; bzero(temp, sizeof(temp)); n = recv(sock, temp, sizeof(temp), 0); inStr = temp; }; but sometimes recv returning not whole data (data length always less then sizeof(temp)), only it's part. write side always sends me whole data (i got it with sniffer). what matter? thx. P.S. i know, good manner suggests me to check n (if (n < 0) perror ("error while receiving data), but it doesn't matter now - it's not reason of my problem. P.S.2 i've forgot - it's blocking socket.

• Lazy loading? Better avoiding it?

  I just read about this design pattern: Lazy Load. And, since in the application i'm working on i have all the classes in one folder, i was wondering if this pattern could just make me avoiding the include() function for every class. I mean: It's nice to know that if i forgot to include a class, PHP, before falling into an error, trough an __autoload() function try to get it. But is it fine enough to just don't care about including classes and let PHP do it by your own every time? Or we should write __autoload() just in case it is needed?

• What would happen to GC if I run process with priority = RealTime?

  I have a C# app which runs with priority RealTime. It was all fine until I made few hectic changes in past 2 days. Now it runs out of memory in few hours. I am trying to find whether it is a memory leak I created of this is because I consume lot more objects than before and GC simply cant collect them because it runs with same priority. My question is - what could happen to GC when it tries to collect objects in application with RealTime priority (there is also at least one thread running with Highest thread priority)? (P.S. by realtime priority I mean Process.GetCurrentProcess().PriorityClass = ProcessPriorityClass.RealTime) Sorry forgot to tell. GC is in Server mode

• How can I use EF in windows forms to insert new data ?

  Hi Maybe it's simple question, but it's my first time with EF + win app so ... I'm building win app with EF by adding edmx as data source then drag and drop the tables to get navigator and binding source .. when I press the add button in the navigator it allows me to enter new data but when I save the context I get NULL data for all fields except the auto increment field ( the ID field ).... What should I do to save many entries ...? DO I have to loop over all the entities in the binding source and add them to the context ?? Thanx in advance Update: I forgot to say that when i use data grid view it adds the items correctly but with "Details" it didn't ..

• Error after switching from .NET 3.5 to 4

  Application.Run(new Main()); This line gives TypeInitializationException was unhandled after I switched from 3.5 to 4 framework. Why is this? Edit: Forgot to mention this is a Winforms C# application. Okay so I have SQLite .NET referenced. I tried this on a project created on .NET 4 by default and didn't give me any error so I assumed it wasn't about SQLite .NET http://sqlite.phxsoftware.com/ Please note v2.0.50727 this is the runtime version of the DLL which seems to be causing the problem. • Problem with variable argument function in C++

  I'm trying to create a variable length function (obviously, heh) in C++, and what I have right now works, but only for the first argument. If someone could please let me know how to get this working with all the arguments that are passed, I would really appreciate it. • Can I have fixed typed ArrayList in C#, just like C++?

  I have an ArrayList which contains fixed type of objects. However everytime I need to extract an object a particular index, I need to typecast it to my user defined type from object type. Is there a way in C# to declare ArrayList of fixed types just like Java and C++, or is there a work around to avoid the typecasting everytime? Edit: I apologize I forgot mentioning that I require the datastructure to be thread-safe, which List is not. Otherwise I would have just used a normal Array. But I want to save myself from the effort of explicitly locking and unlocking while writing the array. So I thought of using ArrayList, synchronize it, but it requires typecasting every time.

  I'd like to play around 3d in Flash and I'm wondering how sophisticated objects can i load from 3D Max... cos as i read it's possible to load something from 3d Max I've read that popular 3d engine is Away3d (many tutorials), so if there is nothing better... i'd like to focus on it. I've forgot to mention that i'm not familar with Flash, but the best way to learn something is to do something interesting with it... :) Main question: Can I load object from 3ds and link parts of this object to some actions in Flash. Better example: I'd like to load a Car and when user click on car's door i'd like to show some informations, about those door, or pass this event outside for example to any other application in PHP, Java etc... and when he click on car mask i'd like to raise other event... That is, I need to change the html (class, id) of the input elements (username, password) of a login form provided by sfDoctrineGuardPlugin.   Hi Alls, I would like to build a small python script that basicaly does the reverse of grep. I want to match the files in a directory/subdirectory that doesn't have a "searched_string". So far i've done that: import os filefilter = ['java','.jsp'] path= "/home/patate/code/project" for path, subdirs, files in os.walk(path): for name in files: if name[-4:] in filefilter : print os.path.join(path, name) This small script will be listing everyfiles with "java" or "jsp" extension inside each subdirectory, and will output them full path. I'm now wondering how to do the rest, for example i would like to be able if I forgot a session management entry in one file (allowing anyone a direct file access), to search for : "if (!user.hasPermission" and list the file which does not contain this string. Any help would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks

• DB2 increase bufferpool size and compressed tables not equal better performance. Why?

  Hi, I’m working on tuning and increasing the performance of my IBM DB2 version 9.7 database. I’ve been searching around the net for the last couple of days and learned that if I created my tables in COMPRESS mode and created one more bufferpool and set both of them to access 1024mb, then the performance in my queries should increase because of the less I/Os to the disks. However, when I run my time analysis, the performance Decrease. I added the new additions to my regular database with the indexes I’ve used all the time. Each time I search google I come up with the statement that: Increased bufferpool size and several bufferpools AND a table compression SHOULD prove to get better performance. I’m very puzzled about the total unexpected result. Are there some tuning mechanisms I’ve forgot or does anyone have a explanation for this odd behavior? Sincerely Mestika
