  • java serial I/O: handling USB serial connection/disconnection in a robust manner

    - by Jason S
    I'm using rxtx for serial I/O handling in Java with an FTDI2232H that provides a USB comm port. It works great, with one exception: if I unplug the USB cable, so that the COM port disappears at runtime, it spews exceptions left and right: java.io.IOException: No error in nativeavailable at gnu.io.RXTXPort.nativeavailable(Native Method) at gnu.io.RXTXPort$SerialInputStream.read(RXTXPort.java:1427) at gnu.io.RXTXPort$SerialInputStream.read(RXTXPort.java:1339) and when I re-plug the cable in again, it does not recover. Is there any way to get rxtx to work properly with USB comm port connection/disconnection? (I've tried to post to the rxtx mailing list but for some strange reason I cannot send messages even though I am subscribed to the list. I've emailed the list admin and have gotten no response.) If not, is there another serial I/O framework that does?

  • Novell Netware 6 and C#

    - by user317744
    Hi, I don't know if anyone has any expertise with Novell Netware or not, but I situation where one of my clients is getting a weird error trying to move a file to a netware share. The situation is pretty complicated but I'll try and outline it as best I can. 1) The application is running as a service 2) The file to be moved is a local file in an accessible location (to the service) 3) The file is being moved with FileInfo.MoveTo(). 4) The MoveTo is throwing an IOException and the message is "a device attached to the system is not functioning". I'm at a loss as to explain what might be happening. On a side note, it seems that running a small test program interactively using the same method (FileInfo.MoveTo) to the same location works fine so it seems to be associated with the service itself. Any help would be hugely greatful. Thanks. Kristofor Wilson

  • XMPP TLS connection with SslStream

    - by Marcom
    I am trying to create a simple xmpp client that connects to Gtalk. The first part of the handshake seems to work. Ror the TLS handshake I created a client SslStream, connected to the intended server (talk.google.com) and successfully got authenticated . The first SSlStream.Read is to receive the greeting reply, it went fine . I do a SslStream.write to send my first command, but when i do my Sslstream.Read() to get the reply , i get this error."System.IO.IOException: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine." Can anyone point me to the right direction? I am using code very similar to the example on msdn http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.net.security.sslstream.aspx except that I switch from a Network stream to a Sslstream when TLS is negotiated. netStream.Flush(); sslStream = new SslStream(netStream, true, new RemoteCertificateValidationCallback(ValidateServerCertificate), null ); sslStream.AuthenticateAsClient("talk.google.com");

  • How to add custom SOAP header in Spring WS using Axiom and XmlBeans

    - by java_pill
    I'm using Spring WS 1.5.8, XmlBeans for marshalling/unmarshalling and AxiomSoapMessageFactory. My app. needs a custom SOAP header. The data that needs to be in the SOAP Header is a XmlBean (i.e sessionContext in the code below). How can I construct the SOAP Header with this XmlBeans XmlObject element in it? I've mentioned the code of my WebServiceMessageCallback that I'm using and executing this code results in "'Content is not allowed in prolog.' error. Thanks, public void doWithMessage(WebServiceMessage message) throws IOException, TransformerException { SoapMessage soapMessage = (SoapMessage) message; SoapHeader header = soapMessage.getSoapHeader(); StringSource headerSource = new StringSource(XmlBeanUtils.getValue(sessionContext) ); transform(headerSource, header.getResult()); }

  • problem with my texture coordinates on a square.

    - by Evan Kimia
    Im very new to OpenGL ES, and have been doing a tutorial to build a square. The square is made, and now im trying to map a 256 by 256 image onto it. The problem is, im only seeing a very zoomed in portion of this bitmap; Im fairly certain my texture coords are whats wrong here. • Disposables, Using & Try/Catch Blocks

    - by Aren B
    Having a mental block today, need a hand verifying my logic isn't fubar'ed. Traditionally I would do file i/o similar to this: FileStream fs = null; // So it's visible in the finally block try { fs = File.Open("Foo.txt", FileMode.Open); /// Do Stuff } catch(IOException) { /// Handle Stuff } finally { if (fs != null) fs.Close(); } However, this isn't very elegant. Ideally I'd like to use the using block to dispose of the filestream when I'm done, however I am unsure about the synergy between using and try/catch. This is how i'd like to implement the above: try { using(FileStream fs = File.Open("Foo.txt", FileMode.Open)) { /// Do Stuff } } catch(Exception) { /// Handle Stuff } However, I'm worried that a premature exit (via thrown exception) from within the using block may not allow the using block to complete execution and clean up it's object. Am I just paranoid, or will this actually work the way I intend it to?

    I am trying to learn how to make a simple app in android. As background information I have only programmed in C language, no OOP. Currently I am trying turn on the camera using the indications from Android Developer site but some minor changes: - no button for capturing image. - no new activity. • CRM 2011 XAML Workflows in VS 2012

    - by AlexR
    I'm writing this knowing there's another topic like this to be found here the answer provided however does not make much sense to me and whatever I tried doesn't seem to work so I'm seeking clarification. The situation is as follows: * New CRM 2011 toolkit solution * New project added for Xaml workflow * Adding CRM "Workflow" activity causes error The error: It shows a redbox "Could not generate view for Workflow" The Exception: System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. --- System.IO.IOException: Cannot locate resource 'workflowdesigner.xaml' I have VS 2012 SP2 with the latest (June) CRM SDK Toolkit installed. I did a clean install of the toolkit so it's not "upgraded" to prevent any old assemblies being referenced. I tried the things from the referenced question and moved the assemblies over and also re-referenced the latest assemblies to make sure everything works fine. I also tried downloading a workflow XAML created in CRM and opening but it gives the same error. I also opened the "example" workflow XAML solution in the SDK, again same result.

  • JSF 2.0: java based custom component + html table + facelets = data model not updated

    - by mikic
    Hi, I'm having problems getting the data model of a HtmlDataTable to be correctly updated by JSF 2.0 and Facelets. I have created a custom Java-based component that extends HtmlDataTable and dynamically adds columns in the encodeBegin method. @Override public void encodeBegin(FacesContext context) throws IOException { if (this.findComponent("c0") == null) { for (int i = 0; i < 3; i++) { HtmlColumn myNewCol = new HtmlColumn(); myNewCol.setId("c" + i); HtmlInputText myNewText = new HtmlInputText(); myNewText.setId("t" + i); myNewText.setValue("#{row[" + i + "]}"); myNewCol.getChildren().add(myNewText); this.getChildren().add(myNewCol); } } super.encodeBegin(context); } My test page contains the following <h:form id="fromtb"> <test:MatrixTest id="tb" var="row" value="#{MyManagedBean.model}"> </test:MatrixTest> <h:commandButton id="btn" value="Set" action="#{MyManagedBean.mergeInput}"/> </h:form> <h:outputText id="mergedInput" value="#{MyManagedBean.mergedInput}"/> My managed bean class contains the following @ManagedBean(name="MyManagedBean") @SessionScoped public class MyManagedBean { private List model = null; private String mergedInput = null; public MyManagedBean() { model = new ArrayList(); List myFirst = new ArrayList(); myFirst.add(""); myFirst.add(""); myFirst.add(""); model.add(myFirst); List mySecond = new ArrayList(); mySecond.add(""); mySecond.add(""); mySecond.add(""); model.add(mySecond); } public String mergeInput() { StringBuffer myMergedInput = new StringBuffer(); for (Object object : model) { myMergedInput.append(object); } setMergedInput(myMergedInput.toString()); return null; } public List getModel() { return model; } public void setModel(List model) { this.model = model; } public String getMergedInput() { return mergedInput; } public void setMergedInput(String mergedInput) { this.mergedInput = mergedInput; } When invoked, the page is correctly rendered with a table made of 3 columns (added at runtime) and 2 rows (as my data model has 2 rows). However when the user enter some data in the input fields and then click the submit button, the model is not correctly updated and therefore the mergeInput() method creates a sequence of empty strings which is rendered on the same page. I have added some logging to the decode() method of my custom component and I can see that the parameters entered by the user are being posted back with the request, however these parameters are not used to update the data model. If I update the encodeBegin() method of my custom component as follow @Override public void encodeBegin(FacesContext context) throws IOException { super.encodeBegin(context); } and I update the test page as follow <test:MatrixTest id="tb" var="row" value="#{MyManagedBean.model}"> <h:column id="c0"><h:inputText id="t0" value="#{row[0]}"/></h:column> <h:column id="c1"><h:inputText id="t1" value="#{row[1]}"/></h:column> <h:column id="c2"><h:inputText id="t2" value="#{row[2]}"/></h:column> </test:MatrixTest> the page is correctly rendered and this time when the user enters data and submits the form, the underlying data model is correctly updated and the mergeInput() method creates a sequence of strings with the user data. Why does the test case with columns declared in the facelet page works correctly (ie the data model is correctly updated by JSF) where the same does not happen when the columns are created at runtime using the encodeBegin() method? Is there any method I need to invoke or interface I need to extend in order to ensure the data model is correctly updated? I am using this test case to address the issue that is appearing in a much more complex component, therefore I can't achieve the same functionality using a facelet composite component. Please note that this has been done using NetBeans 6.8, JRE 1.6.0u18, GlassFish 3.0. Thanks for your help.

  • Java servlet and UTF-8 problem

    - by Gabriele
    I have some problem with UTF-8. My client (realized in GWT) make a request to my servlet, with some parametres in the URL, as follow: http://localhost:8080/servlet?param=value When in the servlet I retrieve the URL, I have some problem with UTF-8 characters. I use this code: protected void service(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response) throws ServletException, IOException { request.setCharacterEncoding("UTF-8"); String reqUrl = request.getRequestURL().toString(); String queryString = request.getQueryString(); System.out.println("Request: "+reqUrl + "?" + queryString); ... So, if I call this url: http://localhost:8080/servlet?param=così the result is like this: Request: http://localhost:8080/servlet?param=cos%C3%AC What can I do to set up properly the character encoding?

  • Handling hundreds of actions in Struts2

    - by Roberto
    Hi all, I've inherited a struts 1 web application where, in order to reduce the number of Action classes (I guess this is the reason), lots of actions are mapped inside a single Action class, like: public XXXAction() throws Exception{ actions = new Hashtable(); actions.put("/XXX/main/load", new Integer(0)); actions.put("/XXX/main/save", new Integer(1)); ...... } public ActionForward executeAction(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form, HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) throws IOException, ServletException { try { switch (((Integer) actions.get(action)).intValue()) { case 0: loadXXXMain(); break; case 1: ....... and so on (in some Action classes I have almost one hundred of these small actions). Now I'm looking at migrate to struts2 and I would like to have a cleaner and better solution to handle this, maybe without having a single Action class for each of these small classes. What do you suggest? I don't like this solution, but I don't like having hundreds of Action classes.... Thanks! Roberto

  • I am having trouble using FileReader to write a txt file to an array (Java), what am I doing wrong?

    - by deliriumtremens
    Scanner s = null; try { s = new Scanner(new BufferedReader(new FileReader("rates.txt"))); for (int i=0; i<9; i++){ while(s.hasNext()){rates[i] = s.next();} System.out.println(rates[i]); } }catch (IOException e){ System.out.println(e); } finally { if (s != null) { s.close(); } } When I run this code, it reads the last chunk of characters in my txt file, places them in rates[0], sticks null in 1-8, then puts that same last chunk in rates[9]. Here are the code i use to get the images from the web and display accordingly. if (xmlURL.length() != 0) { try { URL url = new URL(xmlURL); SAXParserFactory spf = SAXParserFactory.newInstance(); SAXParser sp = spf.newSAXParser(); /* Get the XMLReader of the SAXParser we created. */ XMLReader xr = sp.getXMLReader(); /* * Create a new ContentHandler and apply it to the * XML-Reader */ xr.setContentHandler(myExampleHandler); /* Parse the xml-data from our URL. */ xr.parse(new InputSource(url.openStream())); /* Parsing has finished. */ /* * Our ExampleHandler now provides the parsed data to * us. */ ParsedExampleDataSet parsedExampleDataSet = myExampleHandler.getParsedData(); } catch (Exception e) { } } if (s.equalsIgnoreCase("wallpapers")) { Context context = helloAndroid.this.getBaseContext(); for (int j = 0; j <= myExampleHandler.filenames.size() - 1; j++) { if (myExampleHandler.filenames.elementAt(j).toString() != null) { helloAndroid.this.ed = myExampleHandler.thumbs.elementAt(j) .toString(); if (helloAndroid.this.ed.length() != 0) { Drawable image = ImageOperations(context, helloAndroid.this.ed, "image.jpg"); file_info = myExampleHandler.filenames .elementAt(j).toString(); author = "\nby " + myExampleHandler.authors.elementAt(j) .toString(); switch (j + 1) { case 1: ImageView imgView1 = new ImageView(context); imgView1 = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.image1); if (image.getIntrinsicHeight() > 0) { imgView1.setImageDrawable(image); } else imgView1 .setImageResource(R.drawable.empty_wallpaper); tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.filename1); tv.setText(file_info); tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.author1); tv.setText(author); imgView1 .setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View view) { // Perform action on click Intent myIntent1 = new Intent( helloAndroid.this, galleryFile.class); Bundle b = new Bundle(); b.putString("fileID",myExampleHandler.fileid.elementAt(0).toString()); b.putString("page", "1"); b.putString("family", s); b.putString("fi",myExampleHandler.folder_id.elementAt(folder).toString()); b.putString("kw", keyword); myIntent1.putExtras(b); startActivityForResult( myIntent1, 0); } }); break; case 2: ImageView imgView2 = new ImageView(context); imgView2 = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.image2); imgView2.setImageDrawable(image); tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.filename2); tv.setText(file_info); tv = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.author2); tv.setText(author); imgView2 .setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(View view) { // Perform action on click Intent myIntent1 = new Intent( helloAndroid.this, galleryFile.class); Bundle b = new Bundle(); b.putString("fileID",myExampleHandler.fileid.elementAt(1).toString()); b.putString("page", "1"); b.putString("family", s); b.putString("fi",myExampleHandler.folder_id.elementAt(folder).toString()); b.putString("kw", keyword); myIntent1.putExtras(b); startActivityForResult( myIntent1, 0); } }); break; case 3: //same code break; } } } } } private Drawable ImageOperations(Context ctx, String url, String saveFilename) { try { InputStream is = (InputStream) this.fetch(url); Drawable d = Drawable.createFromStream(is, "src"); return d; } catch (MalformedURLException e) { e.printStackTrace(); return null; } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); return null; } } public Object fetch(String address) throws MalformedURLException, IOException { URL url = new URL(address); Object content = url.getContent(); return content; }

  • 'Programming by Coincidence' Excercise: Java File Writer

    - by Tapas
    I just read the article Programming by Coincidence. At the end of the page there are excercises. A few code fragments that are cases of "programming by coincidence". But I cant figure out the error in this piece: This code comes from a general-purpose Java tracing suite. The function writes a string to a log file. It passes its unit test, but fails when one of the Web developers uses it. What coincidence does it rely on? public static void debug(String s) throws IOException { FileWriter fw = new FileWriter("debug.log", true); fw.write(s); fw.flush(); fw.close(); } What is wrong about this?

  • Freemarker template not found

    - by brock
    Hi, I'm currently trying to get Freemarker to work with my application using Spring. No matter what I try I keep getting template not found. I am not sure if I have the configuration set up properly, but it never finds my template. Here is my spring bean config: <bean id="freemarkerConfig" class="org.springframework.web.servlet.view.freemarker.FreeMarkerConfigurer"> <property name="templateLoaderPath" value="/WEB-INF/freemarker/"/> </bean> Whenever I try to call getTemplate on the freemaker configuration it always sends back a template not found error. So if I do configuration.getTemplate("testTemplate.ftl") it always throws an IOException. I'm not sure if anyone has an idea of what I'm doing wrong. Thanks for all your help!
