  • Help using mod_jk to forward to backend app server

    I had mod-jk working a while ago but after switching servers and modifying some files, it no longer works. I am using mod_jk-1.2.28 with JBoss 4.2.3 as the backend. In the JBoss server.xml file I have the AJP 1.3 connector defined on port 8009 and I am binding jboss to the server's new IP address. The app I am trying to forward to is deployed as: [TomcatDeployer] deploy, ctxPath=/ManualAlerts, warUrl=.../tmp/deploy/tmp8097651929280250028ManualAlertsApp.ear-contents/ManualAlerts-exp.war/ On the web server, I have worker.properties with a worker set for the JBoss address and port 8009. The mod-jk.conf has JkMount /ManualAlerts/* worker1. Shouldn't this forward all requests to the web server with the URL http://address/ManualAlerts/ to the backend app named ManualAlerts? In the mod-jk.log it shows connect to (XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX:8009) failed, and the app-server address is correct here, too. I cannot figure out what's causing the issue.

  • Poor Ruby on Rails performance when using nested :include

    I have three models that look something like this: class Bucket < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :entries end class Entry < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :submission belongs_to :bucket end class Submission < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :entries belongs_to :user end class User < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :submissions end When I retrieve a collection of entries doing something like: @entries = Entry.find(:all, :conditions => ['entries.bucket_id = ?', @bucket], :include => :submission) The performance is pretty quick although I get a large number of extra queries because the view uses the Submission.user object. However, if I add the user to the :include statement, the performance becomes terrible and it takes over a minute to return a total of 50 entries and submissions spread across 5 users. When I run the associated SQL commands, they complete in well under a second. @entries = Entry.find(:all, :conditions => ['entries.bucket_id = ?', @bucket], :include => {:submission => :user}) Why would this second command have such terrible performance compared to the first?

    Ok, what i'm trying to do here is to make the exact code found here here ordered list and make it so that it doesn't just not work when i try to add additional elements into the list. Also i'm planning on using the more effecient one linked to at the end but i cannot put it here so you'll have to find that link on your own sadly. Since i'm trying to use this for a knowledge base page i want to allow people to be able to search through the items on the page and go to the proper part(ie loading it into the viewing area) but it's not letting me even include a simple anchor in there. if there is anyway to do something similar or to edit it so that it'll include everything within the <li> that'd be great. I don't know if anyone out there has done something like this before, but if they have and wouldn't mind sharing the code with me i'd be extremely happy. If no one has but does know how to make it include everything within the <li> including text also a great thing to have. I imagine that i won't be the only person out there in this world with my exact query.

    I am unable to override attributes when using <include> in my Android layout files. When I searched for bugs, I found Declined Issue 2863: "include tag is broken (overriding layout params never works)" Since Romain indicates this works in the test suites and his examples, I must be doing something wrong. My project is organized like this: res/layout buttons.xml res/layout-land receipt.xml res/layout-port receipt.xml The buttons.xml contains something like this: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:orientation="horizontal"> <Button .../> <Button .../> </LinearLayout> And the portrait and landscape receipt.xml files look something like: <LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:orientation="vertical"> ... <!-- Overridden attributes never work. I made to .xhtml page tutorMenu.xhtml and student.xhtml. And want in dependecy from role include menu. For whole page I use layout and just in every page change content "content part" in ui:composition.   • Powershell - Using variables in -Include filter

    (again!) My final question for the night. I have a function which uses the Get-ChildItem to work out the newest file within a folder. The reason being I need to find the latest incremental backup in a folder and script an EXE to mount it. However, within this same folder there are multiple backup chains for all different servers: i.e. SERVER1_C_VOL_b001_i015.spi SERVER2_D_VOL_b001_i189.spi SERVER1_C_VOL_b002_i091.spi SERVER1_E_VOL_b002_i891.spi (this is the newest file created) I want only to look at SERVER1, look at only the C_VOL and look at only b001 - nothing else. I have all these seperate components: the drive letter, the Server Name, the b00X number stored in array. How then can I go and use the Get-ChildItem with the -Include filter to only look at: .spi SERVER1 C_VOL b001 Given I have all of these separate components in an array taken from a text file: Get-Content .\PostBackupCheck-TextFile.txt | Select-Object -First $i { $a = $_ -split ' ' ; $locationArray += "$($a[0]):\$($a[1])\$($a[2])" ; $imageArray += "$($a[2])_$($a[3])_VOL_b00$($a[4])_i$($a[5]).spi" } I then go onto try and filter then and then get stuck: $latestIncremental = Get-ChildItem -Path ${shadowProtectDataLocation}\*.* -Include *.spi | Sort-Object LastAccessTime -Descending | Select-Object -First 1 I have the .spi filtered, but how can I also just include the C (for volume), the number for the b00x and the server name.     One of my four Linux software raid arrays drops one of its two devices when I reboot my system. The other three arrays work fine. I am running RAID1 on kernel version 2.6.32-5-amd64. Every time I reboot, /dev/md2 comes up with only one device. I can manually add the device by saying $ sudo mdadm /dev/md2 --add /dev/sdc1.   • Apache2 Enabling Includes module causes svn access to quit working

    I have dav_svn installed to provide http access to my svn repos. The url is directly under root, eg mywebsite.com/svn/individual-repo. This setup has been working great for some time. Now, I need SSI (server-side includes) for a project, so I enabled this module with a2enmod include. Now, tortoisesvn can't access the repo; it always returns a 301 permanent redirect. Some playing with it reveals I can access it in a browser if I'm sure to include the trailing / but it still doesn't work in TortoiseSVN. I've looked at all of the faq's for this problem with TortoiseSVN and apache, and none of them seem to apply to my problem. Anyone have any insight into this problem? I'm running Ubuntu 9.10 with Apache 2.2.12. The only change I've made to my configuration is to enable the includes mod. Here's my dav_svn conf: <Location /svn> DAV svn SVNParentPath /home/matthew/svn AuthType Basic AuthName "Subversion repository" AuthUserFile /etc/subversion/passwd Require valid-user </Location> and here's the relevant part of my virtual host conf: <Location /svn> SetHandler None Order allow,deny Allow from all </Location> Edit: OK, I've discovered that the real conflict is between the include module and basic authentication. That is, if I disable the include module, browse to the subversion repo, enter my user/pass for the basic authentication, I can browse it just fine. It even continues to work after I re-enable the include module. However, if I browse with another browser where I'm not already authenticated, then it no longer works.

  • How can I get HAProxy backends to include a path

    When using HAProxy for virtual hosting, I can see how to use the Host from the header at the front end to decide what backend to route to. However, is it possible to make the back end be a URL which includes a path (not unlike what you would do with apache or nginx when setting up virtual hosting). http://www.techrawr.com/tag/haproxy/ - shows most of it. But what if the back ends were on the one server but with backend1 and backend2 as the servers?

I would like it to search through all the lines in column A, to find something that has that name in it, then it should count the number of people, and come out with the number (in how many) the "middle price" I want it to take the price of B (depending on where it found it called headphones) and take the average price of it. In secured, as I would like it to count how many of them (from the number, or from the beginning) that have "secured" as "no" and "yes." I would like to use this on several things. For what is marked in pink: Where would I find the average price of all the goods, and what the name of the particular item is? Same with the highest and lowest price. How can I do this?

  • Is there a way to legally create a game mod?

    Some questions about it: If I create a funny version of a copyrighted game and sell it (crediting the original developers) would it be considered a parody or would I need to pay royalties? If I create a game mod for my own personal use would it be legal? What if I gave it for free to a friend? Is there a general rule about it or it depends on the developer will? P.S.: I'm not talking about cloning games like this question. It's all about a game clearly based on another. Something like "GTA Gotham City" ;) EDIT: This picture that I found over the internet illustrate what I'm talking about: Just in case I was not clear: I never created a mod game. I was just wondering if it would be legally possible before trying to do it. I'm not apologizing piracy. I pay dearly for my games (you guys have no idea how expensive games are in Brazil due to taxes). Once more I say that the question is not about cloning. Cloning is copy something and try to make your version look like a brand new product. Mods are intended to make reference to one or more of its source. I'm not sure if it can be done legally (if I knew I wasn't asking) but I'm sure this question is not a duplicate. Even so, I trust in the moderators and if they close my question I will not be offended - at least I had an opportunity to explain myself and got 1 good answer (by the time I write this, maybe some more will be given later).

  • Does Chrome include ANGLE for WebGL?

    I would like to try out WebGL on a laptop with an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000, WinXP/32, DirectX 9.0c. Some time ago I have gotten it to work with Firefox and software rendering. However, I heard about ANGLE and that some versions of Chrome support it. So I installed Chrome 11, canary build. Does that support ANGLE? Do I somehow need to activate it? Because, all WebGL pages that I tried with canary build say something like: "Failed to initialize WebGL"

  • does windows incremental backup include system state backup?

    I'm managing my very small office server with windows server 2008. since I have only one server, and the user group is really small. I made the first hdd into 2 partitions. one (C:) for windows and Active directory, another (D:) for tomcat and database. I'm doing incremental back C: and D: daily to hdd2 (E:) using windows server backup. is it enough to let me do fully restore my server in case of disaster? I ask this because I have read there is also a system state backup, and I also have to do that periodically in order to get AD back? isn't it with incremental/full backup I can do full bare-metal recovery?

    For my .bashrc I have a lot of small snippet files in .config/bash, like 10-prompt.sh and so on. In my actual .bashrc, I just have the following: configdir="$HOME/.config/bash" for file in "$configdir"/*.sh do source "$file" done I'd like to do the same for my .vimrc, but I am not that confident in VimL that I could write that. How would the snippet for .vimrc look like that includes all the snippets in a given subfolder? Ideally, I'd like to make a .vim/rc/ folder where I can put my snippets into.

  • Getting More Performance out of a MacBook Pro

    So I've got a mid-2009 MacBook Pro 13". Integrated GPU so not a games machine but fast enough for doing .Net development in VMs. I love the little thing and wanted to give it a Christmas present so thought I'd mod it up a bit and give it a boost. I'm thinking of swapping out the stock 5400rpm HD with a faster hybrid drive (has 4GB RAM and spins at 7200rpm) but was wondering if any of you had tried or knew of anything else I could change/upgrade/mod to squeeze more out of my laptop. Before you answer though, please be aware that I'm not sure I can run to putting in the 8GB of RAM Apple have suggested :-( Thanks in advance.

  • Why do most routers not include local DNS?

    I need to change my firewall/router, and I'd prefer something with built-in DNS to resolve queries on the local subnets. I've got a mixed Linux/Windows system, often with only one computer turned on, and I frequently have problems resolving local names. I don't want to keep a Linux box permanently on just for DNS, and I'd prefer to have DNS in my router appliance, which is always on. I search Google for this occasionally but never find anything. You always get the obvious answers - it's not possible, put everything in /etc/hosts, NetBIOS, dedicated box, etc. So what am I missing? Why don't "cheap" routers let you do this? I'm pretty sure that Cisco kit does this. Almost all cheap routers will let you do MAC address reservation, to let them assign static IP addresses for DHCP. So why can't they simply do DNS as well for everything on the local subnets, just passing through remote domains to the ISP?

  • Bind include all zones in a folder

    I have a webapp that acts as a DNS manager, writing all zones to "/var/named". I would like to be able to configure named to load all zones in that folder, without explicitely having to tell it which zone goes to which file. Is that remotely possible? The reason for this is that i will be having a lot of zones added/deleted and a lot of records for each of them. I was thinking for using a database for that, but the idea of doing 500 record inserts scares me (it needs to be snappy). It's easier to write to a file. Any suggestions?

    thinking about blocking all '.info' domains on a server running netqmail-1.06 I saw the instructions for the badmailfrom-wildcard patch http://tomclegg.net/qmail-bmf-wildcard specifically mention qmail-1.03 and make no mention of netqmail-1.06. I searched around to see if this patch is already included but didn't find any information in the netqmail changelog http://www.qmail.org/netqmail/CHANGES or anywhere Tried using it by putting '.info' into the badmailfrom file and restarted qmail without error, it seems to be working. Can anyone confirm that this functionality is included in netqmail-1.06?
