  • Best practice to include log4Net external config file in ASP.NET

    - by Martin Buberl
I have seen at least two ways to include an external log4net config file in an ASP.NET web application: Having the following attribute in your AssemblyInfo.cs file: [assembly: log4net.Config.XmlConfigurator(ConfigFile = "Log.config", Watch = true)] Calling the XmlConfigurator in the Global.asax.cs: protected void Application_Start() { XmlConfigurator.Configure(new FileInfo("Log.config")); } What would be the best practice to do it?

  • Include Unit tests in the same package as the source code in Java

    - by TheDelChop
Guys, I'm getting back into Java after a long stint in the Ruby world and I've got a question about JUnit tests and the source I'm testing. If I've got a package of graphics code for my company, lets call it com.example.graphics, should I include my tests in that package too or should they be included in a seperate package, like com.example.graphics.test? Thanks, Joe

  • Upgrading Entity Framework 1.0 to 4.0 to include foreign keys

    - by duthiega
    Currently I've been working with Entity Framework 1.0 which is located under a service façade. Below is one of the save methods I've created to either update or insert the device in question. This currently works but, I can't help feel that its a bit of a hack having to set the referenced properties to null then re-attach them just to get an insert to work. The changedDevice already holds these values, so why do I need to assign them again. So, I thought I'll update the model to EF4. That way I can just directly access the foreign keys. However, on doing this I've found that there doesn't seem to be an easy way to add the foreign keys except by removing the entity from the diagram and re-adding it. I don't want to do this as I've already been through all the entity properties renaming them from the DB column names. Can anyone help? /// <summary> /// Saves the non network device. /// </summary> /// <param name="nonNetworkDeviceDto">The non network device dto.</param> public void SaveNonNetworkDevice(NonNetworkDeviceDto nonNetworkDeviceDto) { using (var context = new AssetNetworkEntities2()) { var changedDevice = TransformationHelper.ConvertNonNetworkDeviceDtoToEntity(nonNetworkDeviceDto); if (!nonNetworkDeviceDto.DeviceId.Equals(-1)) { var originalDevice = context.NonNetworkDevices.Include("Status").Include("NonNetworkType").FirstOrDefault( d => d.DeviceId.Equals(nonNetworkDeviceDto.DeviceId)); context.ApplyAllReferencedPropertyChanges(originalDevice, changedDevice); context.ApplyCurrentValues(originalDevice.EntityKey.EntitySetName, changedDevice); } else { var maxNetworkDevice = context.NonNetworkDevices.OrderBy("it.DeviceId DESC").First(); changedDevice.DeviceId = maxNetworkDevice.DeviceId + 1; var status = changedDevice.Status; var nonNetworkType = changedDevice.NonNetworkType; changedDevice.Status = null; changedDevice.NonNetworkType = null; context.AttachTo("DeviceStatuses", status); if (nonNetworkType != null) { context.AttachTo("NonNetworkTypes", nonNetworkType); } changedDevice.Status = status; changedDevice.NonNetworkType = nonNetworkType; context.AddToNonNetworkDevices(changedDevice); } context.SaveChanges(); } }

  • Java regular expression: how to include '-'

    - by changed
I am using this pattern and matching a string. String s = "//name:value /name:value"; if (s.matches("(//?\\s*\\w+:\\w+\\s*)+")) { // it fits } This works properly. But if I want to have a string like "/name-or-address:value/name-or-address:value" which has this '-' in second part, it doesn't work. I am using \w to match A-Za-z_, but how can I include - in that?

  • Include pdbs in installer?

    - by Steve
Is there any reason to not include pdb files in an installer? I have C++ logging functionality that walks the stack, and reports line numbers and file names. It would be great if my customers could send me logs with this information. However, they would need the pdb files. Is there any downside (other than installer package size) to deploying them?

  • Get scanner to include but ignore quoted text?

    - by user1086516
Basically my problem is this, I need to parse text where , is the delimiter but anything in " " quotes should not be checked for a delimiter. Is this what the Scanner.skip method is for? I would check it myself but I don't understand how to write a regex pattern in java where the token is something in between two " ". I also want to include any quoted text in the proper token which was delimited by the valid ,.

  • Objective C: Include class and call method

    - by Nic Hubbard
I have built a class which has a few methods in it, once of which returns an array, lets call this class A. I have a second class, class B, which I would like to use to call the method from class A. But, now how do I call that method from class A and store what is returned in a var in class B? Do I have to initiate the class? I have made sure to include the .h file from class A into class B. Thanks for helping a newbie.

  • Include HTML file as embedded resource

    - by Stacey
A followup to another question I did, I've done some more digging but I am still coming up dry. Is there any way to include .HTML/.ASPX files as 'embedded resources' into an ASP.NET MVC application? I've found lots of examples of using string resources, but never other files entirely.

  • jQuery prevUntil() include start selector and end selecter

    - by Globalz
I would like to select the start and end selector for the prevUntil() or nextUntil() jQuery selector methods. If i implement these methods now, it grabs everything between the two selectors given. i.e. $('p').prevUntil('h1') will not include the p and h1 element, only those between them. How could I also select the p and h1 elements as well as though between? Thanks!

  • Include Obj-C++ header from C++ source file

    Consider the followng situation: MacFont.h struct MacFont : Font { // ... NSFont* font; }; MacFont will be implemented in MacFont.mm FontEngine.cpp: #if defined(OS_MAC) #include "MacFont.h" #elif // ... #endif //... In order to make it compiling, I should rename FontEngine.cpp to FontEngine.mm but I'm not allowed to. So what now?
