• Ubuntu says FAT16, windows says NTF?

  I created a partition on USB harddisk in windows and it reports to be an NTFS partition. Yet in ubuntu 9.10 fdisk says it a FAT16 partition. If I mount with -t ntfs I see nothing, but if I mount without it I see all the files. Can anyone tell me whats going on here? Windows computer disk management definately says its NTFS, and a quick look at the raw data suggests it is NTFS, as I know the FAT16 very well.

  i am creating a video in Camtasia Studio 6. I created a callout in timeline, In timeline its showing that this callout will hide after 5 seconds. When i play the movie the callout is not hiding but if i click on the timeline anywhere after the callout and play the video the callout is hidden. Whats going on???

• Copy XP local profile to new domain user profile

  I just rolled out a new domain controller. I want to join all the PCS to this new domein (the PCs were never on a domain just a regular workgroup). When I join a PC to the new domain it creates a new profile. How can I migrate (or whats an easy way) the local profile to this new domain profile? Can I keep all settings, desktop layout, outlook 2003 settings etc while doing this?

• CAS auth fails while migrating wordpress-mu from apache to IIS

  Having an issue migrating a wordpress-mu installation that I have running with cas authentication enabled (using wpcas and phpcas 1.1.0) from apache on an ubuntu machine to IIS on a windows 2008 machine. While CAS authed fine under linux, I'm getting a "CAS Authentication failed! You were no authenticated." page that pops up whenever I enter in a correct login. Anyone know whats up or if there are some logs I can look at to get more info?

  I have a Nexus One phone and when I record video the container seems to be 3GP. When I try to playback using VLC I'm getting no audio, and an error saying that there is nothing I can do because VLC does not support the "samr" codec. Is there really nothing I can do to watch my videos on VLC? If not, whats the alternative? I really like VLC specifically because I never have to download codecs...

I have a centos 5.2 server and running df -h i get this: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/mapper/VolGroup00-LogVol00 672G -551M 638G 0% / /dev/hda1 99M 12M 82M 13% /boot tmpfs 2.0G 0 2.0G 0% /dev/shm that space wasn't even near 10% usage the last time it showed a correct value, i'm at a loss with whats going on. • Squid on Linux Windows Pass through authentication

  We are setting up a new proxy based on squid on an ubuntu server, and would like to have pass through authentication work for the Windows/Internet Explorer client. We have put the line into the squid.conf for squid_ldap_auth, but this prompts for a username and password in internet explorer. It does work ok once the user puts it in.   I would like to install linux ubuntu next to my primary windows 7 OS. I found that wubi ubuntu installer which helps you with simple installation/uninstallation of ubuntu. But the wiki says that wubi uses a virtual disk. Is that similar to virtually running the OS? I really dont want my primary system to slow down because of that.
