  I'm trying to upload an website to an online server programmaticly via C# and using FTP. example C:\website\wwwroot to "ftp://ftp.host.com/website/wwwroot" When I do this, the wesbite says "You do not have permission to view this directory or page." And if I just replaced the webconfig via FileZilla manually , the site starts working. I'm using the edtftp library for .NET Any ideas of whats going on ?

• Freshy Ubuntu 12.10 install (Newbie)

  Hi i just installed ubuntu 12.10 on my ssd(picture below) and i set up my home directory to the 1 TB disc(picture below). I want in general use the ssd as my root folder as u can see, and install only the apps which are necessary. Games and other stuff goes to the 1 TB disc, but this disc shows me in gparted a usage of 14 GB on a freshly install, whats wrong? What about the ssd, do i have to manually optimize things? thx Alex PS: What if i want to install a Game to my home folder, i heard sth. of a symbol link, how to do that?

  I get casually asked a lot to take a couple days to teach someone how to program. Most people really think they can learn what I know in a few days. When I tell them I have been doing this for many years and I can't teach them to be a programmer in a few days, they look at me like I am being a jerk and just don't want to help them. I think this is because when I say I am a programmer, or I programmed this. I truly think most people do not realize that I mean I wrote the code that makes it up. I think that they think I mean I configured it, like when you say, "I programmed my VCR." Does anyone else think this? Whats your experience?

  I have bought a new HP ENVY-4 ultrabook. It has an i5 processor, preinstalled windows7 and 2GB radeon graphics card. What happened was when I started using ubuntu it showed overheating. I ignored it but after a few days it burnt my laptop battery to 0% capacity. It was just one month old so I got the battery replaced for free. I tried installing linux mint but it also showed overheating. I tried fedora17 but it didn't installed fine. On windows it is running perfectly fine and it's not even heating a bit. Now anyone please suggest whats the problem with ubuntu and how can I overcome with it. I am a computer science guy so I can't work without linux and this machine is then like a waste for me.

• Isometric drawing "Not Tile Stuff" on isometric map?

  So I got my isometric renderer working, it can draw diamond or jagged maps...Then I want to move on...How do I draw characters/objects on it in a optimal way? What Im doing now, as one can imagine, is traversing my grid(map) and drawing the tiles in a order so alpha blending works correctly. So, anything I draw in this map must be drawed at the same time the map is being drawn, with sucks a lot, screws your very modular map drawer, because now everything on the game (but the HUD) must be included on the drawer.. I was thinking whats the best approach to do this, comparing the position of all objects(not tile stuff) on the grid against the current tile being draw seems stupid, would it be better to add an id ON the grid(map)? this also seems terrible, because objects can move freely, not per tile steps (it can occupies 2 tiles if its between them, etc.) Dont know if matters, but my grid is 3D, so its not a plane with objects poping out, its a bunch of pilled cubes.

Are there any materials or books to read about the topic? • GParted doesn't see any partition

  What I am trying to do couldn't be more logical I think. I have a 40gb drive with two partitions, Xp and Ubuntu. I have dual boot, everything boots and works perfectly. I have about 9gb free in the Windows partition When I run Gparted I only see 40gb unallocated space, booting from Gparted Live CD. What the hell is going on ? I've read everywhere this is a common problem, however it has no sense something like this remains unsolved by gparted developers, considering what I am trying to do is the very basic step anybody wanting to migrate from Windows to Linux would od Something like this honestly doesn't give anything else than frustration Could anybody on this forum be so kind to explain whats' going on ?   I've upgraded from Ubuntu 13.04 to Ubuntu 13.10, then ibus-avro for Bengali is not working. I've tried to reinstall ibus but no success. ibus-avro Icon is showing but not sure whats the problem. It should be working like this... The icon on top is showing properly, but it's not working. May be there are some communication problem. So currently after upgrade it's like this... As we can see the Bangla text is not appearing... I've tried these steps...But no hope. rm ~/.candidate-selections.json and sudo killall ibus-daemon ibus-daemon -vx Then /usr/bin/env gjs --include-path=/usr/share/ibus-avro /usr/share/ibus-avro/main-gjs.js

• Is wubi for Windows 8?

  My Dell laptop shipped with Windows 8. I installed Ubuntu 12.10(64 bit) through wubi installer, the installer worked fine till the reboot demanding screen. But after the reboot, my laptop boots to a black screen with the problem stated: " File: \ubuntu\winboot\wubildr.mbr Status: 0xc000007b Info: The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors. " I checked for the specified path in my c drive(windows 8) and i found the file there. Now, whats the problem. Is it the compatibility of wubi with windows 8 or something else?? Could anyone help
