  • Cisco vlan entry missing in vlan.dat, but appears in running-config

    One of our vlan's (ID: 104) stopped working suddenly and computers on that vlan failed when trying to obtain a dhcp ip address. On the Cisco switch if we do show vlan, this command is supposed to shows the vlans in the vlan.dat file. We notice it has every other vlan except the one that is now missing. If we show the running-config or even the startup config, they DO show the missing vlan (as if everything is fine), but that vlan doesn't take effect. We tried deleting the "missing" vlan using clear vlan 104, but it says No subinterface configured for vLAN Identifier 104, so it's already missing. Recreating the vlan, saving and rebooting still doesn't add it into the vlan.dat or make the vlan work. The switch is in vtp server mode. Our startup config is here: http://pastebin.com/RHxxTG5p Any ideas appreciated.

  • zero-config CGI enabled web server

    To serve static content of a directory over http, one can simply navigate to that directory and type: python -m SimpleHTTPServer 11111 which will start a http server on port 11111. This hack is nice because it requires zero-config: no stand-alone web server, no config files at all. Is it possible to extend this example, or have an alternate way to achieve this goal, but also have CGI support? The final goal is to have a quick and lazy way of serving a web site from a certain directory. The site has static content (HTML pages, images), but also a CGI script. The CGI script must work properly when accessed via browser. Of course I could setup a virtual host in apache, allow CGI inside it etc. But that's not a zero-config approach.

  • Excel: Edit the XML inside an XLSX file

    An Excel XLSX file is a zip archive containing several XML files. I tried to extract all the XML files, and edit xl\connections.xml using an XML editor. That's because I have to change 20+ connections to point to a different server. When I open the edited archive in Excel, it refuses the changes and repairs the file. Is there a way to edit the XML files inside an XML archive?

    Iam running Zend with Apache and got to see a strange behaviour.... If i type http://127.0.0.1 in my browser url, it works fine, but after typing: http://localhost, i will get a file download window, saying file type as: application/x-httpd-php And in my httpd.conf file, i have the following under VirtualHost *:80 definition: ServerName localhost DocumentRoot E:\zend\Apache2\htdocs\my_project\public Directory E:\zend\Apache2\htdocs\my_project\public Perhaps some configuration problem... can anyone guide me..

    I am writing the documentation for our companies software developed with vs2012. I need to add xml examples to the summary of each class, due to xml instantiation of objects. We are using sandcastle to create the documentation (company choice), and I want to be able to review my xml comments without building the help file every time. Is there an application that anyone would recommend where I can view how the xml renders before I build the help file?   • Changing IIS URL Rewrite config location

    Hi When used at site level, the IIS7 URL Rewrite 2 module saves its configuration in the web.config file of that site. I'm using Sitecore CMS, and best practice is to store any web.config customisations in a separate config file for ease of upgrading, staging/production setups etc. Is there any way to specify a different config file for IIS7 redirects? I know that application-level rewrites are stored in ApplicationHost.config, but I have several sites running on the server and would like to keep them separated. Thanks, Adam

    I am looking for a way to programmatically obtain the path to the app.config file from within a Windows Service executable. The build process changes App.config to program-name.exe.config and I could do something like: var configFile = Path.Combine(AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory, "program-name.exe.config"); However, I'm looking for some way of obtaining the config file name at runtime that doesn't involve hard coding the exe name into the application. ConfigurationManager has some way of doing it, so it must be possible.

    As you all know, when you build a project with an app.config file it gets copied to the bin directory and renamed $(targetFileName).config. Is it possible for it to be called something else? For example if my executable is called myApplication.exe, can I have the config file called settings.config as opposed to myApplication.exe.config? Cheers

    Quick Question Is it possible to have more than 1 config file in a windows service? Or is there some way I can merge them at run time? Scenario Currently I have two config files containing the below contents. After I build and install my Windows Service, I can't get my custom XML Parser class to read the content because it keeps pointing to the wrong config file, even though I am using a few lines of code to ensure it gets the right name of the config file I need to access. ALSO When I navigate to the folder in which the service is installed, there is only sign of the normal APP.Config file, and no sign of the custom config file. (I have even set the normal ones properties to "Do Not Copy" and the custom ones properties to "Copy Always").     Hi Pro's, which parser (java) would you recommend for parsing GPX data? Im looking for a one that is very intuitive to use and should not need too much RAM (it seems that DOM requires too much, doesn't it?). I have no idea about parsing xml, so it is time for me to learn this ;-) My documents are not very huge and are always read twice(a point for DOM), but I don't want to keep as few things as possible in RAM. What would you do in this situation? Which one would you coose and why?

  • Need help with some IIS7 web.config compression settings.

    Hi folks, I'm trying to configure my IIS7 compression settings in my web.config file. I'm trying to enable HTTP 1.0 requests to be gzip. MSDN has all the info about it here. Is it possible to have this config info in my own website's web.config file? Or do i need to set it at an application level? Currently, I have that code in my web.config... <system.webServer> <urlCompression doDynamicCompression="true" dynamicCompressionBeforeCache="true" /> <httpCompression cacheControlHeader="max-age=86400" noCompressionForHttp10="False" noCompressionForProxies="False" sendCacheHeaders="true" /> ... other stuff snipped ... </system.webServer> It's not working :( HTTP 1.1 requests are getting compressed, just not 1.0. That MSDN page above says that it can be used in :- Machine.config ApplicationHost.config Root application Web.config Application Web.config Directory Web.config So, can we set these settings on a per-website-basis, programatically in a web.config file?     I'm building a Windows Service app that has configuration data stored in App.Config. However, I noticed that when I build my application a AppName.Exe.Config is generated. Can someone tell me the relationship between these two files? Is the AppName.Exe.Config file what I install with my Windows Service app, instead of the app.config? Thanks - Randy
