  • Cisco 891w multiple VLAN configuration

    I'm having trouble getting my guest network up. I have VLAN 1 that contains all our network resources (servers, desktops, printers, etc). I have the wireless configured to use VLAN1 but authenticate with wpa2 enterprise. The guest network I just wanted to be open or configured with a simple WPA2 personal password on it's own VLAN2. I've looked at tons of documentation and it should be working but I can't even authenticate on the guest network! I've posted this on cisco's support forum a week ago but no one has really responded. I could really use some help. So if anyone could take a look at the configurations I posted and steer me in the right direction I would be extremely grateful.     I just started learning Common Lisp a few days ago, and I'm trying to build a function that inserts a number into a tree. I'm getting an error, * - SYSTEM::%EXPAND-FORM: (CONS NIL LST) should be a lambda expression From googling around, it seems like this happens when you have too many sets of parenthesis, but after looking at this for an hour or so and changing things around, I can't figure out where I could be doing this.     I'm a little confused about how to do something in HQL. So let's say I have a class Foo that I'm persisting in hibernate.     I am having a bear of a time getting this to work. I have a List(Of MyItem) called Items that have a OrderId property on them. From those items, I want to create a list of Orders. Some items will have the same OrderId so I want to try to group by OrderId. I then want to sort by date. Here's what I have so far: Public ReadOnly Property AllOrders() As List(Of Order) Get Return Items.Select(Function(i As MyItem) New Order(i.OrderID)) _ .GroupBy(Function(o As Order) New Order(o.OrderID)) _ .OrderBy(Function(o As Order) o.DateOrdered).ToList End Get End Property This, of course, doesn't compile, and I get the error: Value of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List(Of System.Linq.IGrouping(Of Order, Order))' cannot be converted to 'System.Collections.Generic.List(Of Order))' I've bolded the part where I think the problem is, but I have no idea how to fix it. Also, it used to work fine (except there were duplicate values) before I added the .GroupBy statement. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

  • Ranking - an Introduction

    © 2011 By: Dov Trietsch. All rights reserved Ranking Ranking is quite common in the internet. Readers are asked to rank their latest reading by clicking on one of 5 (sometimes 10) stars. The number of stars is then converted to a number and the average number of stars as selected by all the readers is proudly (or shamefully) displayed for future readers. SharePoint 2007 lacked this feature altogether. SharePoint 2010 allows the users to rank items in a list or documents in a library (the two are actually the same because a library is actually a list). But in SP2010 the computation of the average is done later on a timer rather than on-the-spot as it should be. I suspect that the reason for this shortcoming is that they did not involve a mathematician! Let me explain. Ranking is kept in a related list. When a user rates a document the rank-list is added an item with the item id, the user name, and his number of stars. The fact that a user already ranked an item prevents him from ranking it again. This prevents the creator of the item from asking his mother to rank it a 5 and do it 753 times, thus stacking the ballot. Some systems will allow a user to change his rating and this will be done by updating the rank-list item. Now, when the timer kicks off, the list is spanned and for each item the rank-list items containing this id are summed up and divided by the number of votes thus yielding the new average. This is obviously very time consuming and very server intensive. In the 18th century an early actuary named James Dodson used what the great Augustus De Morgan (of De Morgan’s law) later named Commutation tables. The labor involved in computing a life insurance premium was staggering and also very error prone. Clerks with pencil and paper would multiply and add mountains of numbers to do the task. The more steps the greater the probability of error and the more expensive the process. Commutation tables created a “summary” of many steps and reduced the work 100 fold. So had Microsoft taken a lesson in the history of computation, they would have developed a much faster way for rating that may be done in real-time and is also 100 times faster and less CPU intensive. How do we do this? We use a form of commutation. We always keep the number of votes and the total of stars. One simple division gives us the average. So we write an event receiver. When a vote is added, we just add the stars to the total-stars and 1 to the number of votes. We then recomputed the average. When a vote is updated, we reduce the total by the old vote, increase it by the new vote and leave the number of votes the same. Again we do the division to get the new average. When a vote is deleted (highly unlikely and maybe even prohibited), we reduce the total by that vote and reduce the number of votes by 1… Gone are the days of spanning lists, counting items, and tallying votes and we have no need for a timer process to run it all. This is the first of a few treatises on ranking. Even though I discussed the math and the history thereof, in here I am only going to solve the presentation issue. I wanted to create the CSS and Jscript needed to display the stars, create the various effects like hovering and clicking (onmouseover, onmouseout, onclick, etc.) and I wanted to create a general solution with any number of stars. When I had it all done, I created the ranking game so that I could test it. The game is interesting in and on itself, so here it is (or go to the games page and select “rank the stars”). BTW, when you play it, look at the source code and see how it was all done.  Next, how the 5 stars are displayed in the New and Update forms. When the whole set of articles will be done, you’ll be able to create the complete solution. That’s all folks!

    On a MVC 2 website what I want to do is get a list of products / CategoryId. From that list, create a list of distinct CategoryId's. Then randomly pick a categoryId from the second list and use it to get all the products for that categoryId. I then want to store that CategoryId so that I don't display those products on the next run. I don't need any code examples to start. What I'm wondering is that I think I would put this code in a class in my model (Dll) and store the list of displayed CategoryId's in session. Is this a good solution or should I go another way?     I'm trying to hook up URL dispatch with PLT Scheme. I've taken a look at the tutorial and the server documentation. I can figure out how to route requests to the same servlets. Going to localhost:8080/posts/test goes to a PLT "file not found" page (with the above code, I'd expect it to go to a page that says "review-post test"). It feels like I'm missing something small and obvious. Can anyone give me a hint?

My current code is shown below - I'm not 100% on the logic of it, but I feel it should work, however it isn't giving me the required result.     Is there a way to determine if an instance of a org.apache.poi.hwpf.model.ListData belongs to a numbered list or bulleted list? I am using Apache Poi's org.apache.poi.hwpf.HWPFDocument class to read the contents of a word document in order to generate HTML. I can identify the list items in the document by checking to see that the paragraph I am working with is an instance of org.apache.poi.hwpf.model.ListData. I can not find a way to determine if ListData belongs to a bulleted list or a numbered list.

I thought of adding the following to my CustomCollectionEditor class, but this doesn't work. public CustomCollectionEditor(Type type, List<Type> types_) : base(type) { types = types_.ToArray(); } It would be ideal if I could mark up which classes the CustomCollectionEditor needed to be aware of in the DisplayList class somehow.

    If a specific release date is not available (as I suspect it is not), can you provide resources for tracking how close it is to the desired feature set that allows release. I'm not necessarily asking for a percentage gauge, or X of Y features completed list. A list of bugs marked in whichever section of the perl RT instance that's tracking Rakudo bugs would meet my criteria, even more so if the list is dynamic (I.e. it's a list of bugs tagged in some manner, not a static list of ticket numbers). If there are only a few planned features left to be finished/tested before it's considered ready for final testing, listing those would also be sufficient.

    Folks, I want to create a webpage with three panes (frameLeft, frameMiddle, frameRight) The content on leftmost pane is a list from file list.html Upon clicking on an item in the leftmost pane, it loads the corresponding html file (call it listLvl2.html) in the middle pane. This is also a list. Clicking further on an item in the middle pane should load the corresponding html file in the third frame (lets call it content.html) I have made an index.html file with three frames. frameLeft loads list.html. I have coded list.html so that every link opens in the target="frameMiddle" . This works well The issue is opening content.html in frameRight. What should I put as the target in my listLvl2.html links so that they open in frameRight? I tried putting it as frameRight, but instead, it opens in a new window. I guess that is because for listLvl2.html , frameRight is not defined.

Row Store and Column Store. Row store does exactly as the name suggests – stores rows of data on a page – and column store stores all the data in a column on the same page. These columns are much easier to search – instead of a query searching all the data in an entire row whether the data are relevant or not, column store queries need only to search a much lesser number of the columns. How to Ignore Columnstore Index Usage in Query In summary the question in simple words “How can we ignore using the column store index in selective queries?” Very interesting question – you can use I can understand there may be the cases when the column store index is not ideal and needs to be ignored the same. You can use the query hint IGNORE_NONCLUSTERED_COLUMNSTORE_INDEX to ignore the column store index. The SQL Server Engine will use any other index which is best after ignoring the column store index. 2012 Storing Variable Values in Temporary Array or Temporary List SQL Server does not support arrays or a dynamic length storage mechanism like list. Absolutely there are some clever workarounds and few extra-ordinary solutions but everybody can;t come up with such solution. Additionally, sometime the requirements are very simple that doing extraordinary coding is not required. Here is the simple case. Move Database Files MDF and LDF to Another Location It is not common to keep the Database on the same location where OS is installed. Usually Database files are in SAN, Separate Disk Array or on SSDs. This is done usually for performance reason and manageability perspective. Now the challenges comes up when database which was installed at not preferred default location and needs to move to a different location. Here is the quick tutorial how you can do it. UNION ALL and ORDER BY – How to Order Table Separately While Using UNION ALL If your requirement is such that you want your top and bottom query of the UNION resultset independently sorted but in the same result set you can add an additional static column and order by that column.   • Python string manipulation

    I'm trying to split a string into a int list for further processing. But somehow I can't remove certain whitespaces in between elements of the list. The string x is supposed to have a length of 1000 instead of 1019. I tried reading the documentation for python and saw the function strip() for stripping whitespaces from strings. However, it only works for trailing and leading whitespaces. How should I go about removing these whitespaces and also how do I convert a str list to a int list?   • How can I play compressed sound files in C# in a portable way?

    Is there a portable, not patent-restricted way to play compressed sound files in C# / .Net? I want to play short "jingle" sounds on various events occuring in the program. System.Media.SoundPlayer can handle only WAV, but those are typically to big to embed in a downloadable apllication. MP3 is protected with patents, so even if there was a fully managed decoder/player it wouldn't be free to redistribute. The best format available would seem to be OGG Vorbis, but I had no luck getting any C# Vorbis libraries to work (I managed to extract a raw PCM with csvorbis but I don't know how to play it afterwards). I neither want to distribute any binaries with my application nor depend on P/Invoke, as the project should run at least on Windows and Linux. I'm fine with bundling .Net assemblies as long as they are license-compatible with GPL. [this question is a follow up to a mailing list discussion on mono-dev mailing list a year ago]

    When you write a Windows Phone application you will most likely consume data from a web service somewhere. If that service returns data to you in a sort order that you do not want, you have an easy alternative to sort the data without writing any C# or VB code. You use the built-in CollectionViewSource object in XAML to perform the sorting for you. This assumes that you can get the data into a collection that implements the IEnumerable or IList interfaces.For this example, I will be using a simple Product class with two properties, and a list of Product objects using the Generic List class. Create a phone:PhoneApplicationPage.Resources section in your Windows Phone page that looks like the following:<phone:PhoneApplicationPage.Resources>  <local:Products x:Key="products" />  <CollectionViewSource x:Key="prodCollection"      Source="{Binding Source={StaticResource products},                       Path=DataCollection}">    <CollectionViewSource.SortDescriptions>      <scm:SortDescription PropertyName="ProductName"                           Direction="Ascending" />    </CollectionViewSource.SortDescriptions>  </CollectionViewSource></phone:PhoneApplicationPage.Resources>The first line of code in the resources section creates an instance of your Products class. The constructor of the Products class calls the InitCollection method which creates three Product objects and adds them to the DataCollection property of the Products class. Once the Products object is instantiated you now add a CollectionViewSource object in XAML using the Products object as the source of the data to this collection. A CollectionViewSource has a SortDescriptions collection that allows you to specify a set of SortDescription objects. Each object can set a PropertyName and a Direction property. As you see in the above code you set the PropertyName equal to the ProductName property of the Product object and tell it to sort in an Ascending direction.All you have to do now is to create a ListBox control and set its ItemsSource property to the CollectionViewSource object.   • How to convert ByteString to [Word8] in Haskell?

    I am dealing with ByteStrings and at this one place I need to use [Word8] but I have a ByteString. How do I convert a ByteString to [Word8] list? I tried unpack function from ByteString library but it returned a [Char] list rather than [Word8] list. Do I need to take this step and convert it first to [Char] list and only to [Word8] list? If so, how do I do that. Please advise the most efficient method! Thank you!

I am trying to changing backround colour of some rows on listbox.I have 2 list that one has all names and it shown on listbox.And second list has some same value with first list.I want to show that when clicking button it will search in listbox and in second list then will change colour where found value. I may search in list box like for (int i = 0; i < listBox1.Items.Count; i++) { for (int j = 0; j < students.Count; j++) if (listBox1.Items[i].ToString().Contains(students[j].ToString())) { } } But I dont know which method to change appearances of row.Any help?
