• Symfony: Weird routing issue

  Hi, I've got following URL in symfony (specifics not important): /frontend_dev.php/something/25/apple ... and a routing rule: /something/:id/:word The URL works fine when clicked through to on the site, but not when I type in the URL. Instead, symfony says: Unable to find a matching route to generate url for params "NULL". The weird thing is that I can navigate to this page and it works, but when hitting Enter in the browser address bar, it no longer finds it. Any thoughts on what might be the cause of something like this generally? I should also add that the URL was working fine when typed in the address bar earlier, but doesn't anymore, and I'm not sure what's there that might be interfering with it. Thanks in advance.

  Hi all, I got a Table which has two fields: Point, and Level, with some sample data as follows: ----------------------- Point | Level ----------------------- 10 | Level 1 20 | Level 2 30 | Level 3 40 | Level 4 Suppose that there is a user who has 25 points, to find the Level in which this user is in, the Select statement I used was: Select Level from Table where Point < 30 AND Point > 20; But the Select SQL ststament is a hard-copy one where you can see the ponts 30 and 20 are fixed. I want to alter the Select statement so that the new SQL Select statement can be applied to all users with different points, but I don't know how to do it.

  I am new to iphone development. I have parsed a youtube file and displaying its contents with the image in the table view. But the scrolling has become slower because of displaying image.So i want to display the image as the lazy tables program from apple docs.Since they have used navigation based application , their rootviewcontroller loads first and then the delegate class call the parsing ,and when they reload the table view, the contents are displayed. The data array count shows 25. I am using a view controller to display the tables on the present modal view, more over when i run my application, first delegate methods call the parsing. So when i click the youtube icon in my landing page it navigates to table view. So by this time data array count shows 0. I have created table view in interface builder and set the outlets to the file owner properly. Please help me out. I want to increasing the scrolling performance. Thanks.

  I'm facing an issue with file download with IE6-8 in non ssl environment. I've seen a lot of articles about the IE attachment download issue with ssl. As per the articles I tried to set the values of Pragma, Cache-Control headers, but still no luck with it. These are my response headers Cache-Control: private, max-age=5 Date: Tue, 25 May 2010 11:06:02 GMT Pragma: private Content-Length: 40492 Content-Type: application/pdf Content-Disposition: Attachment;Filename="file name.pdf" Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 I've set the header values after going through some of these sites KB 812935 KB 316431 But these items are related to SSL. I've checked the response body and headers using fiddler, the response body is proper. I'm using window.open(url, "_blank") to download the file, if I change it to window.open(url, "_parent") or change the "Content-Disposition" to 'inline;Filename="file name.pdf"' it works fine. Please help me to solve this problem

  I was reading through 2010 CWE/SANS Top 25 Most Dangerous Programming Errors and one of the entries is for Buffer Copy without Checking Size of Input. It suggests using a language with features to prevent or mitigate this problem, and says: For example, many languages that perform their own memory management, such as Java and Perl, are not subject to buffer overflows. Other languages, such as Ada and C#, typically provide overflow protection, but the protection can be disabled by the programmer. I was not aware that Java and C# differed in any meaningful way with regard to memory management. How is it that Java is not subject to buffer overflows, while C# only protects against overflows? And how is it possible to disable this protection in C#?

  I created a new Azure Website, using Umbraco as the CMS. I got a page up and going, and I already have a .co.nz domain with www.domains4less.com. There's a whole lot of stuff on the internet about pointing URLs to Azure, but that seems to be more of a redirection service than anything (i.e. my URLs still use azurewebsites.net once I land on my site).   I currently have code with an enum where one value is set and the rest are left to be set by the compiler using the previous value +1, or so I hope. Is this functionality within an enumerated type compiler dependant, an example is below to clarify. enum FUNC_ERROR_CODE { FUNC_SUCCESS, FUNC_ERROR_1 = 24, FUNC_ERROR_2, FUNC_ERROR_3 } Is it safe to assume that FUNC_ERROR_2 will have the value 25 and FUNC_ERROR_3 will have the value 26, regardless of compliler used. I'm coding this so as a function can return an integer value, 0 is always success and any other value can signify failure.

So I found, that the application is indeed vulnerable to injections because I can alter some of the insert statements.   Suppose you have a messaging system built in PHP with a MySQL database backend, and you would like to support searching for messages using arbitrary date strings. The database includes a messages table, with a 'date_created' field represented as a datetime. Examples of the arbitrary date strings that would be accepted by the user should mirror those accepted by strtotime. For the following examples, searches performed on March 21, 2010: "January 26, 2009" would return all messages between 2009-01-26 00:00:00 and 2009-01-27 00:00:00 "March 8" would return all messages between 2010-03-08 00:00:00 and 2010-01-26 00:00:00 "Last week" would return all messages between 2010-03-14 00:00:00 and 2010-03-21 018:25:00 "2008" would return all messages between 2008-01-01 00:00:00 and 2008-12-31 00:00:00 I began working with date_parse, but the number of variables grew quickly. • Blackberry: Simulator stuck up launching through JDE 5.x

  Hi, When i try to build my project in Blackberry JDE 5.0.0.25. It built successfully. And then when i click on Debug menu "Go" button, simulator is launching and stuck up lanching itself forever, does't come up the simulator screen normally and visible with apps showing. When i built the same project in Blackberry JDE 4.7, it built successfully and then click on "Go", launched the simulator normally and showed the app to play with it. Could someone guide me what should be problem? Do i need to set any settings specific to BB JDE 5.x? I have just the basic hello world empty screen in my project, so don't provide any code here.   Hi all, I'm on a verge of quitting my current job as a .NET programmer. i'm 25 years old and have been a .NET programmer in the past 5-6 years, but now i wonder if maybe i should take this opurtunity and try some other things, like RT\Embedded or Driver development. My pro\cons: i love .NET since you can write enterprise systems with it, learn cool development methodologies and practice many patterns i want to learn RT\Embedded\Driver since its at the heart of so many things and i'm feeling this is a black hole for me. My question are: Is making career leaps a good idea? How can i manage to get myself into a job in RT\Embedded as my whole Resume has c# written all over it. What should i bet my cards on this days? android? java? flash? silverlight? etc?

I understand that I could put this into a view with a request transaction around it, but I want this to work in the Admin, and via an API, etc. Not just with forms, or views. How is it possible?

The problem is I'm normally submitting a bunch of values normally like this: curl -d "firstname=bob&lastname=smith&age=25&from=kansas&someothermodelattr=val" -H "Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded" http://mysite/people.xml -i The problem with this is my controller will then have code like this: unless params[:firstname].nil? end unless params[:lastname].nil? end // FINALLY @person = People.new(params[:firstname], params[:lastname], params[:age], params[:from]) etc.. What's the best way to simplify this? My Person model has all the validations it needs. Is there a way (assuming the request has multi-model parameters) that I can just do: @person = People.new(params[:person]) and then the initializer can take care of the rest?
