  • Visual Studio CLR project

    Hi, so I wanted to try my first CLR project in Visual C++. So I created console project, but since every tutorial I found about CLR programming was using C#, or windows forms, I just tried writing standart c++ Hello Word app using iostream (I think code isnt needed in this case) but I though it will give me some compile error, since iostream uses precompiled functions, and CLR app compiles into MSIL. I assumed that CLR programming using C++ means just using C++ syntax, but different functions for I/O and so. So, basicly, what I want to ask is, can any native console C++ app be compiled into MSIL and run by .NET framework?

  • visual studio localhost server can't locate file

    i have a very simple web project. just one htm file with some javascript that opens a file test.xml. the xml file is in the same folder as the htm file (and it is part of the project) but when i start the page (f5 or ctrl-f5) it can't find the xml. it starts as http://localhost:50586/main.htm when i do a folder list the test.xml file is right there. opening the page directly in firefox works fine and the script can read and extract data from the xml. how can i convince the development server that the xml is indeed there?? or better still: how can i turn the development server off entirely? for my purposes simply opening the page in my browser is all i need and that should happen from within vs of course.

  • Admin required for Visual Studio 2008 Setup Project

    I have a VS 2008 Setup Project that is installing a very simple application in the local user's App Folder. When the Setup Project runs, it is requiring the Admin to login to run it. How can I allow a Standard User to run the installation. There are no Prerequisites. The MSI file is the only file to be run (no Setup.exe). I have signed the msi with a certificate that is installed on the user's machine as Trusted. I just can't get rid of the Admin login requirement.

    Hi all, this is something that i don't want to program, but i was looking for a handy way of logging on to my web app. i'm building (and testing and running) my webapp over and over again, and here i've been provided a strong password. needless to say it's not so nice to enter my full user name + strong password 30 times a day. is there a nifty tool which lives in the background and when i open page localhost/mytestpage.aspx, it will say: "hey, let me type in michel and sdfs%^%gfhg in these two textboxes"?

    Hello everyone, i am designing a local database in .net with wpf as gui. I have added a new database, and added a new table. Through the TableAdapter i generated 2 statements ( 1 statement is a select stmt and 1 is a insert) , i insert name and firstname (id is auto generated).     I'm going a little nuts trying to understand the doc on impersonation and delegation and the question has come up what account my webservice is running under. I am logged as myDomainName\johna on my development workstation called JOHNXP. From Vstudio2005 I start my webservice via Debug and the wsdl page comes up in my browser. From Task Manager, I see the following while sitting at a breakpoint in my .asmx code: aspnet_wp.exe pid=1316 UserName=ASPNET devenv.exe pid=3304 UserName=johna The IIS Directory Security tab for the Virtual Directory that hosts my ws.asmx code has "Enable Anonymous access" UNCHECKED and has "Integrated Windows Authentication" CHECKED. So when the MSDN people state "you must configure the user account under which the server process runs", what would they be refering to in the case of my little webservice described above? I am quoting from: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa302400.aspx Ultimately, I want this webservice of mine to impersonate whatever authenticated domain user browses through to an invoke of my webservice. My webservice in turn consumes another ASMX webservice on a different server (but same domain). I need this remote webservice to use the impersonated domain user credentials (not those of my webservice on JOHNXP). So its getting a little snarly for me to understand this and I see I am unclear about the account my web service uses. I think it is ASPNET in IIS 5.1 on WinXP but not sure.
