  What do people think is the best JSF framework or library for a saving state longer than request scope (but w/o using session scope) that is backbutton/new window safe -- i.e. you have a "wizard"/multi-page form. For example, MyFaces has the 'SaveState' tag (http://bit.ly/8QHmX5) that allows you to maintain state across pages by saving state in the view's component tree. Any comments on SaveState (pros/cons) or suggestions for any better framework or library for this capability?

• Drawing connected lines with OpenGL

  I'm drawing convex polygons with OpenGL. I then do the same thing but use GL_LINE_LOOP. The problem I have is the lines are not always connected. How could I ensure that the lines are always connected? In the photo below, Iv highlighted in green, the corners that are connected and in red, those that are not. Everything works fine until I either click on a pin or change the map to a different view(satellite/road)... when I do either of these, my pins will revert back to the classic red color.   Is JavaScript allowed to call a remote web page during a click event? When viewing the click in firebug, the call turns red (i.e. error) but I can't see the error because the page redirects. So is it allowed to call a remote website (in my case, its a 1x1 image using a standard url like http://www.example.com/becon).

  I have a large tree structure on which several threads are working at the same time. Ideally, I would like to have an individual mutex lock for each cell. I looked at the definition of pthread_mutex_t in bits/pthreadtypes.h and it is fairly short, so the memory usage should not be an issue in my case. However, is there any performance penalty when using many (let's say a few thousand) different pthread_mutex_ts for only 8 threads?

  Hi there, I'm creating a set of input fields and using javascript's .style.backgroundColor = "red" to change the colour of any invalid fields. In Chrome, there is no problem. However, in Firefox, as soon as I touch the backgroundColor (even if I set it to white) then I get these strange shadow effects.   I am using BGHUDAppKit for an outline view within a HUD-style (black) NSPanel. As such the text in my outline view cells is light gray or white. Unfortunately this means that when I hover to bring up a tooltip for a cell's value, it shows up as light gray text on yellow, which is illegible. How can I set the text color for the tooltip, or is there a way that I can modify the control itself (without changing its appearance) to work better with the tooltip mechanism?

• Cannot debug in visual studio 2008

  I recently reopened a project and on trying to debug the breakpoint only shows as a red circle and gives the following message "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document" I notice there are no PB files in the bin directory. I presume I need to rebuild the debug files. Does anybody know how to go about this? Any help much appreciated.
