  • Determining line orientation using vertex shaders

    Hi, I want to be able to calculate the direction of a line to eye coordinates and store this value for every pixel on the line using a vertex and fragment shader. My idea was to calculate the direction gradient using atan2(Gy/Gx) after a modelview tranformation for each pair of vertices then quantize this value as a color intensity to pass to a fragment shader. How can I get access to the positions of pairs of vertices to achieve this or is there another method I should use? Thanks

  • Oracle SQL: How to use more than 1000 items inside an IN statement

    I have an SQL statement where I would like to get data of 1200 ep_codes by making use of IN. When I include more than 1000 ep_codes inside IN statement, Oracle says I'm not allowed to do that. To overcome this, I tried to change the SQL code as follows: SELECT ... FROM ... WHERE ... AND ep_codes IN (...1000 ep_codes...) OR ep_codes IN (...200 ep_codes...) The code was executed succesfully but the results are strange. Is it appropriate to do that using OR between INs or should I execute two separate codes as one with 1000 and the other with 200 ep_codes?

    When i upload a excel file, i have used COM() to open and automate converting it to xml. It works fine, But when i run it, it always shows the message from Microsoft Excel: A file named ''' already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it? I can choose between Yes No and Cancel. normally i would choose Yes. But i dont want users to click on Yes each time. Can i disable this? Please inform me if any relevant codes need to be posted.     I have JPanel wrapped in JScrollPane and I want the rectangle to be drawn always on the same position = moving with scrollbars wont affect the visibility of the rectangle.     I'm having trouble with Twitter's implementation of an oauth_bridge_code for the @anywhere api. I've seen a few walkthrough's on how to use this functionality but I can't seem to get the request to work for me. I'm using Ruby on Rails with the oauth gem.   • audio onprogress in chrome not working

    Hi I am having a problem getting onprogress event for the audio tag working on chrome. it seems to work on fire fox. http://www.scottandrew.com/pub/html5audioplayer/ works on chrome but there is no progress bar update.   • How to replicate PS multiply layer mode

    Does anybody know of a good way to replicate Photoshop's multiply layer mode using either an image or CSS? I'm working on a project that has thumbnails that get a color overlay when you hover over them, but the designer used a layer set to multiply and I can't figure out how to produce it on the web. The best thing I've come up with is either using rgba or a transparent png, but even then it doesn't look right.

    In a CD collection program, I have each artist's country of origin stored in the main database and want to display a map of the world which: Colour-codes each country depending on the number of CDs by artists in that country Allows clicking on each country to filter a list of CDs to only ones by artists in that country This is a heavily simplified version of what I'm trying to do, but if I can at least get this far the rest should be easy enough to figure out. So far the closest thing I've found to what I'm trying to do is here: http://www.synergetechsolutions.com/blog/analytics-world-map-control Ideally I don't want to be embedding Flash in my program though, and the only other solutions I've found all involve SVG which I haven't managed to get working in practice outside of a web browser control (and I DEFINITELY don't want to be embedding a browser in the forms). Something in pure managed code and either GDI+ or WPF would be preferable. Are there any existing components that would get me started, or can anyone suggest how to approach it from scratch?

  • How secure are GUIDs in terms of predictability?

    We're using .NET's Guid.NewGuid() to generate activation codes and API keys currently. I wonder if that poses a security problem since their algorithm is open. .NET Guid uses Win32 CoCreateGuid and I don't know it's internals (possibly MAC address + timestamp?). Can someone derive a second GUID out of the first one, or can he hit it with some smart guesses or is the randomness good enough so search space becomes too big? Generating random keys have the problem of collision, they need a double check before adding to a database. That's why we stuck with GUIDs but I'm unsure about their security for these purposes. The first part is fairly simple: SELECT Recipient, Count(*) EmailCount FROM Messages GROUP BY Recipient ORDER BY Recipient Which gives me: Recipient EmailCount [email protected] 2 [email protected] 3 [email protected] 2 How can I get the most recent status code too?
