• Generating a Call Hierarchy for dynamicly invoked method

  Hello, Today's world of dynamic invoke, reflection and runtime injection just doesn't play well with traditional tools such as ctags, doxygen and CDOC. I am searching for a method call hierarchy visualization tool that can display both static and dynamic method invocations. It should be easy to use, light during execution and provide helpful detailed information about the recorded runtime session. Now I guess Callgrind could be considered a valid solution for the family C. What tool / technique could you suggest to create a call graph for both static and dynamic method invocation for JVM based bytecode? The intended end result is a graphical display (preferably interactive) which can show path from main() to each method that was invoked. During research for this post I stumbled upon javashot, it seems that this is the kind of approach I'm aiming at, I would prefer that this would be integrated into a kind of profiler or alike which than can be used from within my IDE (Eclipse, IntelliJ, Netbeans and alike). • Combine master-detail databinding

  I have created data sources from my objects in my project, some of which have other objects as members. When I want to bind a some objects to a data grid I would like to display some of the values from the member objects in the data grid as well but the examples I have come across seem to use an entire other datagrid or controls to display these member object values. How can I combine these values into one data grid? (Preferably without creating a wrapping class) Can I achieve this with LINQ somehow? Your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks P.S.   Hi I store dates in a core data entity attribute, I then display the date in the table cells. I want to group all the cells according to months and only display the relevant dates in the correct sections. I'm using sectionNameKeyPath of the NSFetchedResultsController, but I need to only use the month in the date to group. How can I achieve this? Would I need to create a new attribute and store just the month as a string or can I use NSPredicate? Please can anyone let me know if they have done this or give me some examples. Thanks

• MVC: Model View Controller -- does the View call the Model?

  I've been reading about MVC design for a while now and it seems officially the View calls objects and methods in the Model, builds and outputs a view. I think this is mainly wrong. The Controller should act and retrieve/update objects inside the Model, select an appropriate View and pass the information to it so it may display. Only crude and rudiementary PHP variables/simple if statements should appear inside the View. If the View gets the information it needs to display from the Model, surely there will be a lot of PHP inside the View -- completely violating the point of seperating presentation logic.

• iPhone modalView unwanted offset

  Hey, I have a UITabBarController with three view controllers (from three different types). On one of the view controllers, I want to display a modalViewController. Once a UIButton on the screen is pressed, I perform this action: AboutViewController *modalViewController = [[AboutViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"AboutScreen" bundle:nil]; [self presentModalViewController:modalViewController animated:YES]; like I always do in order to display a modal view... The problem is, that while the modal view is being displayed (while it is moving from the bottom of the screen), a 20 pixels grey strip is showing on the bottom of the screen (the same size as the status bar on the top). Once the modal view reaches its final location, the strip disappears. Needless to say this doesn't look good (to say the least). Does anybody know why this may happen? Thanks,

  I have created a simple blog application using Ruby on Rails, both of which I am new to. I am trying to get my most 'voted' posts to display in my /views/posts/index.html.erb view. Here are the basics. I have created a votes table and successfully allow a user to 'vote' for a post on the /views/posts/show.html.erb page. When they vote, it passes '1' to the votes table and I return the vote count via ajax to the same show page. Vote belongs_to :post and Post has_many :votes. I would like to display in /views/posts/index.html.erb the post title and the amount of times it has been voted for, ordered by posts with the highest vote count. Any ideas on how to do this?

I tried to display them by opening Google Docs Viewer with platformRequest. However it seems Google Docs Viewer uses ajax and many mobile browsers does not support it.   I am trying to put a maven2 project under continuous integration in hudson. The project uses selenium for some integration testing. Hudson is running on a headless linux. I am using xvfb to start a x server session for selenium. In order to run the tests, I need to export an environment variable named DISPLAY. e.g. export DISPLAY=:99 However, I don't want to set the variable on the box since it would affect all builds. I have tried to do a shell execute using the m2 extra steps plugin but it doesnt work since it is executed in a separate bash file, meaning that environment variables are not persisted. Is there a way to register the environment variable from hudson.

  Hi all, I want to make a program that would record audio data using PortAudio (I have this part done) and then display the frequency information of that recorded audio (for now, I'd like to display the average frequency of each of the group of samples as they come in). From some research I've done, I know that I need to do an FFT. So I googled for a library to do that, in C, and found FFTW. However, now I am a little lost. What exactly am I supposed to do with the samples I recorded to extract some frequency information from them? What kind of FFT should I use (I assume I'd need a real data 1D?)? And once I'd do the FFT, how do I get the frequency information from the data it gives me? Thanks a lot in advance.

• Hiding a dropdown menu without it flashing with prototype

  I have a number of dropdowns and divs that are hidden when the page loads and can be toggled with a click or mouseover, but some of them flash b/c the javascript does not run in time. I have their display initially set to block and then I use javascript/prototype to find the element and hide it. I have tried loading these "hider" functions using dom:loaded but there is still flashing. This is an example of a dropdown prototype initialization funtion.   I have a bunch of datatemplates I use to display various sql-views in an ItemsControl. I don't know which datatemplate i'm going to use until run-time. (every view has different columns) Next to that, I made a generic dynamic datatemplate for all those views that don't need anything special. When I display the view I want to first look in all the available datatemplates if there is one that matches, else use the default dynamic datatemplate. My question is how can I 'search' a datatemplate by name in code? Usercontrol is also possible. Thanks, Elger

It has a few different modes, each of which require an external process to be launched, during which the icon is simply highlighted, and appears to be frozen. I want to use the -setImage method (or reasonable facsimile) to display something along the lines of a "spinner" commonly seen in web applications and all over OS X. Is there any native method for accomplishing this (e.g. some instance of NSProgressIndicator?) or must I manually display an animation by cycling through a set of images? In either case, how would I implement?

• UITableView resizing rows problem

  Hi All, Hope to get solution to this problem. I have been stuck on it since a long time now. I have a a tableView which has custom labels drawn upon the cell using CGRect. I receive the data from a web service in arrays. Initially i display a line of data on the cells. When the user selects a cell, I call reloadsRowAtIndexPath to increase the height of selected row. In the process, cellForRowAtIndexPath gets called again. I keep track of this by a flag, and when cellForRowAtIndexPath gets called again, I display the two more lines of data from arrays, on the cell. What i am getting is all overlapping data on one other. I tried to remove already placed labels in didSelectRowAtIndexPath, but to no avail. Please help me on this Thanks in advance.

  How can I see which commits are actually going to be pushed to a remote repository? As far as I know, whenever I pull master from the remote repository, commits are likely to be generated, even if they're empty. This causes the local master to be 'forward' even if there is really nothing to push. Now, if I try (from master): git cherry origin master I have an idea of what's going to be pushed, though this also display some commits that I've already pushed. Is there a way to display only the new content that's going to be pushed?

  Hi, I have following this blog in setting Xvfb in my ubuntu environment: http://corpocrat.com/2008/08/19/how-to-install-xvfb-x11-server-in-linux-server/ So I did this: Xvfb :1 -screen 0 800x600x24& My question is does Xvfb only allocate memory during initialization? i.e. just enough for a display of 800x600x24? So as I have more and more programs (different programs or same program multiple times) display to the Xvfb , it does not allocate more memory? Thank you.

• SignalR recording when a Web Page has closed

  I am using MassTransit request and response with SignalR. The web site makes a request to a windows service that creates a file. When the file has been created the windows service will send a response message back to the web site. The web site will open the file and make it available for the users to see. I want to handle the scenario where the user closes the web page before the file is created. In that case I want the created file to be emailed to them. Regardless of whether the user has closed the web page or not, the message handler for the response message will be run. What I want to be able to do is have some way of knowing within the response message handler that the web page has been closed. This is what I have done already. It doesnt work but it does illustrate my thinking. On the web page I have $(window).unload(function () { if (event.clientY < 0) { // $.connection.hub.stop(); $.connection.exportcreate.setIsDisconnected(); } }); exportcreate is my Hub name. In setIsDisconnected would I set a property on Caller? Lets say I successfully set a property to indicate that the web page has been closed. How do I find out that value in the response message handler. This is what it does now protected void BasicResponseHandler(BasicResponse message) { string groupName = CorrelationIdGroupName(message.CorrelationId); GetClients()[groupName].display(message.ExportGuid); } private static dynamic GetClients() { return AspNetHost.DependencyResolver.Resolve<IConnectionManager>().GetClients<ExportCreateHub>(); } I am using the message correlation id as a group. Now for me the ExportGuid on the message is very important. That is used to identify the file. So if I am going to email the created file I have to do it within the response handler because I need the ExportGuid value. If I did store a value on Caller in my hub for the web page close, how would I access it in the response handler. Just in case you need to know. display is defined on the web page as exportCreate.display = function (guid) { setTimeout(function () { top.location.href = 'GetExport.ashx?guid=' + guid; }, 500); }; GetExport.ashx opens the file and returns it as a response.
