    Hi All, To simplify, I have tree tables: products, products-vs-orders, orders products fields : 'ProductID', 'Name', 'isGratis', ... products-vs-orders fields : 'ProductID', 'OrderID' orders fields : 'OrderID', 'Title', ... Actually, I have a query like this: SELECT orders.OrderID, orders.Title, COUNT(`products`.`isGratis`) AS "Quantity", `products`.`isGratis` FROM `orders`, `products-vs-orders`, `products` WHERE `orders`.`OrderID` = `products-vs-orders`.`OrderID` AND `products-vs-orders`.`ProductID` = `products`.`ProductID` GROUP BY `products`.`PackID`, `products`.`isGratis` This query works and return this surch of result: OrderID, Title, Quantity, isGratis 1 My Order 20 0 1 My Order 3 1 2 An other 8 0 2 An other 1 1 How can I retrieve the count of products 'gratis' and 'paid' in to separate cols ?   • Bringing specific results to the front using one MySQL query.

    I'm setting up my geolocation feature which lists out all the countries in order of name. However, most websites have it set up where the popular countries (such as United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia) are at the front of the list (are shown first rather than in their assigned places). Is it possible to achieve this using the same MySQL query that I am already running to select them? SELECT * FROM `global_flags` ORDER BY `country` Is there a better alternative somewhere? Perhaps something that can reorganize the results after the database has already been queried? I don't want to exclude those results and then manually type them at the beginning because that would waste more space in the file.

  • In java can i have more than one class/object in a file?

    So the way i've been told to do things is you have your file and the file name is Classname.java and then the code is something like this: class ClassName { SOME METHODS main {} } and then thats all. I'd like to have two objects defined and used within the same .java file. (i don't want to have to put the other class in a difernt file just because i'd like to send this to someone and i want to avoid hasstle of atatching multiple files to an email [the lazy do make good programers though if you think about it]) is it possible to do this? do i have to do anything special and if so what? what are some mistakes i'm likely to make or that you have made in the past when doing this?

    Hi, I run a Ruby on Rails website that have multiple domain names. I have a "Website" table in the database that stores the configuration values related to each domain name: Website - domain - name - tagline - admin_email - etc... At the moment, I load the website object at the start of each request (before_filter) in my ApplicationController: @website = Website.find_by_domain(request.host) The problem is when I need to access the @website object from my models methods. I would like to avoid to have to pass @website everywhere. The best solution would be to have something similar to APP_CONFIG but per domain name. def sample_model_property - - "#{@website.name} is a great website!" end How would you do it?

I've looked through the nice example in this thread but it writes the remote file to a local file. I know I could compile it to code.o under src and the do "mv code.o ../bin" but that would yield an error if there were compile errors, right?   • What's the best way to implement one-dimensional collision detection?

    I'm writing a piece of simulation software, and need an efficient way to test for collisions along a line. The simulation is of a train crossing several switches on a track. When a wheel comes within N inches of the switch, the switch turns on, then turns off when the wheel leaves. Since all wheels are the same size, and all switches are the same size, I can represent them as a single coordinate X along the track. Switch distances and wheel distances don't change in relation to each other, once set. This is a fairly trivial problem when done through brute force by placing the X coordinates in lists, and traversing them, but I need a way to do so efficiently, because it needs to be extremely accurate, even when the train is moving at high speeds. There's a ton of tutorials on 2D collision detection, but I'm not sure the best way to go about this unique 1D scenario.

A running example is here at jsbin Why does this not work? I would expect the alert in findInState to yield 17 but instead it yields undefined. What am I doing wrong?

Memory I understand may be because of k being set to null(Even though I am not sure). But how come it is faster than for each.
