• SSH is looking in the wrong place for the public/private key pair on Windows

  I'm trying to configure GIT on my Windows XP machine, but SSH keeps creating and looking for the public/private key pair in non-sensical places, e.g. /.ssh/id_rsa Is there a configuration file in the GIT Installation for Windows where I can switch this to my home directory, or another user defined place? By default, it offers to create new key pairs at //.ssh/id_rsa but that gives me the error "Could not create directory '//.ssh'." And when I'm able to find a directory I can create it in, GIT won't look there.

• How can I get the text color of a button using the Substance LaF?

  In my Java application I have to custom-paint a control and for that I need to use the same font colors as JButton. (Enabled an disabled) I don't want to to hard-code them, because the user can change the Substance skin at runtime. I'm aware of the ColorSchemes but I'm not sure how to proceed once I have the color scheme of the current skin. Also the Substance documentation says something about creating your own color scheme, but I just can't figure out the way to retrieve a certain color.

  Is there a good way to display the contents of a file as binary? I am creating a program that needs to save and load a 2D arrays from a files. When loading a saved file the result appears different. I need to be able to view the contents of the saved file in plain binary to tell if my problem in in my save or load function.   In my application I have a class which has properties of user-defined types like this: class MyType { public A MyProperty { get; set; } } class A { .....some methods and proeprties } for some operations that I need to perform from my main program, I create a List of MyProperty whenever creating object of MyType and pass it to my main program and there I perform different operation on these properties which reflects in there instances also. Is there any way by which I could get the object instance for any particular MyProperty from that property in the list.

• runModalForWindow throttles http requests

  I have url connection, which normally works fine NSURLConnection *connection = [[NSURLConnection alloc] initWithRequest:request delegate:delegate]; But when I create a modal window, no request ever receives response: [NSApp runModalForWindow:window]; If I comment this line out, thus creating a 'standard' window, everything works. I tried implementing all methods from NSURLConnectionDelegate, not a single of them called. I suspect this is something about 'run loops', but have little experience in this area. Does anybody have experience in this? Thank you

  Hi, I have a model with a version field - autocreate timestamp. When a model instance is being saved I want to create a new instance with a new timestamp instead of updating the old model instance. Is it possible? I thought of overriding the model save() method but I don't know how to create a new instance without creating a infinite save() loop. Thanks

  I have been playing around with creation of pdf documents for a project that I'm working on. I would like to store the generated pdf document in a SQL database and then later be able to retrieve this pdf as well. What are some suggestions for doing this? Can the document be stored in the database without physically creating the document on the server?
