  • "Correct" way to playback user movement with xlib?

    I'm trying to figure out a way to make demos for a program I've written with xlib, and I came across this, but, according to the author page: This extension is not intended to support general journaling and playback of user actions. Does anyone know of any functions in xlib that are intended to support playback of user actions? Does it even exist? Or could I just use this without any real problems?

  • .Net Windows Services and InstallState file - is it really needed?

    I've got a number of managed code Windows Services for which we use the Frameworks InstallUtil tool to install into the service control manager. This tool creates a new file at install time with an extension of .InstallState. I have experimented with deleting this file and an uninstall still works fine afterwards. So my questions is, what is this file for and is there any reason I shouldn't delete it?

  • Enabling browser caching via java

    Good day, I am using CacheFilter to filter a certain path to my server (which outputs an image stream to the response stream). And I've configured it in my web.xml as follows: <filter> <filter-name>imagesCache</filter-name> <filter-class>com.samaxes.cachefilter.presentation.CacheFilter</filter-class> <init-param> <param-name>privacy</param-name> <param-value>public</param-value> </init-param> <init-param> <param-name>expirationTime</param-name> <param-value>2592000</param-value> </init-param> </filter> ... <filter-mapping> <filter-name>imagesCache</filter-name> <url-pattern>/my/path/*</url-pattern> </filter-mapping> Using my firefox, if I access my url via the address bar, it hits the server the first time but uses the cache during succeeding calls. However, if the url is inside my page ( i.e. <img src="..."/> ), it seems to hit the server all the time. [EDIT] After a few more testing, accessing my image via the address bar does not work all the time. But caching does seem to work more often with it than . As to whether it really, I am not sure. Additional Info: my path is something like /my/path?then=some&query=strings. Notice that it doesn't have an extension (i.e. gif, png, jpeg ) but it's mimetype is set properly ( image/gif, image/png, image/jpeg ). I am not sure if the lack of extension or the presence of the query strings have any impact. (Also, another note. though my url have query strings, I am using the same uri + query string over and over again with my tests). Any ideas why? Thanks

    Hello, I am using vim with fugitive extension http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2975 It has :Gdiff command which brings you into vimdiff mode, but what is the right/quick way to close/quit vimdiff mode? i.e. let's say I am editing file FooBar.txt under git repository, then firing up :Gdiff, review my changes in vimdiff and want to get back and continue editing FooBar.txt or any other file :) Thanks.

  • Why is the volatile qualifier used through out std::atomic?

    From what I've read from Herb Sutter and others you would think that volatile and concurrent programming were completely orthogonal concepts, at least as far as C/C++ are concerned. However, in GCC c++0x extension all of std::atomic's member functions have the volatile qualifier. The same is true in Anthony Williams's implementation of std::atomic. So what's deal, do my atomic<> variables need be volatile or not?

Now, I know that those comparisons are always stupid and made by fellows that feel that languages are a extension of their boring personality so, let me ask instead: can you give me the implementation of a widely known algorithm to deal with a data structure like red-black trees in both languages so I can compare?

    I recorded a script using the Selenium IDE extension for Firefox, and I would like to add the command waitForCondition. I see it takes two arguments: script and timeout. In Selenium IDE, I have 3 text fields for each command: the command name (I assume "waitForCondition"), the target, and the value. Where and how should I put the two arguments in this UI?

    Hey there, i have tried to render some files with HAML in Rails 3. But HAMl doesn`t work. My testfiles have the extension .html.haml. In the GEMFile i have written gem 'haml' and executed the bundle install When i call my testapp i become an error like this: Template is missing Missing template posts/index with {:locale=>[:en, :en], :formats=>[:html], :handlers=>[:rjs, :rhtml, :rxml, :builder, :erb]} in view paths "/Users/piet/Sites/blog/app/views" Hope, i become some help here. I need to be able to create virtual HID devices of all types, and have an app running in the background feed them events. Is there a way to do this in user-space, or must I venture into kernel land?

    I'm not sure I understand the difference between the html.erb files and erb files in the views for a Ruby on Rails application. (Similarly for haml files.) What are the dis/advantages of each (html.erb/haml or erb/haml) files? PS I'm not asking about the difference between the erb and haml files -- just appending the extension to an html file versus not appending it.

I've read/watched quite a few theming tutorials but none of them mentioned these files for theming, only the template.php.     When viewing a jpg or mp3 in Windows Explorer, the bottom pane shows metadata from the media file. Furthermore, for video and picture, the icon is shown as a preview of the media. Is there a way to add this kind of functionality to windows for custom file types that aren't supported by default in windows? Is there a certain sort of plugin or extension that must be written? If so, how is it implemented? Thank you.
