    I am trying to back up both the "Last Session" and "Current Session" files for Google Chrome in one command, but using a wildcard doesn't seem to work. I am trying with the following command rsync -e "ssh -i new.key" -r --verbose -tz --stats --progress --delete '/cygdrive/c/Users/jay/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data/Default/*Session' user@host:"/chrome\ sessions/" and get the following error rsync: link_stat "/cygdrive/c/Users/jay/AppData/Local/Google/Chrome/User Data/Default/*Session" failed: No such file or directory (2) What am I doing wrong?

  • dd-wrt and squid proxy

    I am now using linksys router with dd-wrt firmware & squid proxy from off-site (VPN) for anonymity. The problem is i have to configure proxy setting in my browser to access that proxy. What i would like to do is to get all my traffic pass through the router via squid proxy without configuring any setting in browser. I can't use openvpn due to port blockage in my country. My current squid proxy listen to port 443.

  • Fedora 8 upgrade PHP > 5.2.4

    One of my current company servers is using old Fedora 8 and web apps compatible with PHP 5.2.x. Currently the PHP version is 5.2.4. I would like to upgrade it minimum 5.2.5 so that Drupal-7 can be installed on that machine. The problem is, there are no more repository for Fedora 8, and maybe here someone could help. I can't risk upgrading the OS since I'm not linux expert, and if anything goes wrong I could be in trouble. thanks

I haven't worked with ruby on rails so I don't really know anything about the structure of the app. I want to load this onto an Ubuntu 8.04 AMI on Amazon EC2 and am looking for any information regarding the migration process such as: Do I copy over the entire folder defined as the application root in the mongrel config (for ex: /u/apps/myapp/current) or just certain folders?     Does anyone know if it is possible to have a DRAC5 make a screenshot of the console when Linux reboots (automatically) due to a kernel panic? Our current system doesn't reboot automatically when it panics, so we can manually make a screenshot using the DRAC when it crashes. However, I'd like to configure it so it will reboot automatically when a panic happens, but still be able to log the cause of the crash.

    in a directory with multiple sub directories I need to change filenames that have the "_" character to a another character "." example Current filename: ABC12345_DEF Change to filename: ABC12345.DEF I need to do this recursively through a directory tree. the last three characters of the filename are not always the same. using rename wildcards on either side of the "_" or "." doesn't work (plus I need to do this through several directories)

    I am a webdeveloper and my current working tools are: Terminal (ssh, tailing logs, grep, git, etc) Eclipse (PDT, Javascript, etc) Firefox (Developer Toolbar + Firebug) The problem is that I hate using the eclipse navigation tree. For me it is a lot easier to go to the Terminal and do something like this: $ eclipse /var/www/myproject/long/path/lib/Driver/Sql.php The annoying part is that the eclipse window is not focused after this command. I have to manually click on the eclipse window (using mouse... :@ grrr) Anyway to force eclipse to be focused?
