• How to place text on top of image in ReportViewer

  I feel very silly asking this, since it seems like it just should work, but I cannot make it work and cannot find anything in the documentation about this. The problem: I'm developing an application in Visual Studio 2010 that is utilizing ReportViewer, rendering the report locally. In the report designer, I place a textbox on top of an image. This looks fine in the designer, but when rendering the report, the textbox is rendered below the image. Now, before you suggest it, I have tried placing a textbox on top of a rectangle (or other control) with the BackgroundImage property set. This works. But: I cannot find a way to rescale the background image to fit the control. Setting a different dpi for the background image does nothing. Simply rescaling the image to a different resolution is not an option, since I eventually want to print the report. Does anybody have a solution to this?

• datetime command line argument in python 2.4

  I want to pass a datetime value into my python script on the command line. My first idea was to use optparse and pass the value in as a string, then use datetime.strptime to convert it to a datetime. This works fine on my machine (python 2.6), but I also need to run this script on machines that are running python 2.4, which doesn't have datetime.strptime. How can I pass the datetime value to the script in python 2.4? I have created a list of LocalValueBean objects and passed it as a list to jsp.. now here at jsp i need to print the label seperately and on hover to the label i need to show the value.. i need to exttract or to say get those values in jsp directly... i have also imported the org.apache.struts.util.LabelValueBean in my jsp but still its not working.. please let me know if you any ideas...

  I was wondering how to do this, consider the following classes public class Fruit { public string Name { get; set; } public Color Color { get; set; } } public class Apple : Fruit { public Apple() { } } How can I instantiate a new fruit but upcast to Apple, is there a way to instantiate a bunch of Fruit and make them apples with the name & color set. Do I need to manually deep copy?   Hi, I was going through an example from Programming in Ruby book. Thats fine. My question here is when i replace the parallel assignment with something like this, i1 = i2 i2 = i1+i2 I am not getting the desired output. My question here is, is it advisable to use parallel assignments? (I come from Java background and it feels really wierd to see this type of assignment) One more doubt is : Is parallel assignment an operator?? Thanks

• Python: Trying to get index of an intersection

  I have the following line of code: for i in [i for i,x in enumerate(catdate) if x == set(NNSRCfile['datetimenew']).intersection(catdate)]: print i I am trying to find the index of the intersection for the two components above. Both are lengthy lists that have several commonalities. The intersection part works perfectly; however, the for loop seems to output nothing. (ie: there is nothing that is printed). Python outputs no error, and when I run the code in IPython, I notice that i is equivalent to to the very last element in the list "catdate", instead of listing the indices of "catdate" that are equivalent to the intersection values. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  I'm starting learning rails, and having some troubles on configure cucumber to run my bdd tests. What I want is run cucumber features and this translate to cucumber features --format pretty I tried to do this editing the config/cucumber.yml file (on a rails project). Edited the line: default: <%= std_opts % features resulting on: default: <%= std_opts % --format pretty features But it make some erros happen: Using the default profile... All but one formatter must use --out, only one can print to each stream (or STDOUT) (RuntimeError) What I can do to make this option "--format pretty" default? Also, is there any other good option to put as default to make result more clear? Thank you.

  I have some servlets that act as individual URLs for populating a database for some dummy testing. Is it possible that I am trying to access the data to rapidly? I have this function call in a loop, so something like for i in hugelist: #try to get a value from the berkdb #do something with it I am running this with multiple datasets and this error only occurs with one of them, the largest one, not the others.

  The application that I'm currently working on has a funky set up for the invoices that they print. The form is the invoice that is printed out. I took a look at the Northwind DB and what it does is and it actually generates a report based on the record's information. What are the limitations of using Forms vs. Reports for printing out reports? One of the limitations that I've run into so far is that the printed page is jam packed with information (all required) to fit on a single page, yet there is lots of wasted space for some stuff since elements on the page don't shrink or grow due to what's inputted into the textboxes. How are invoices designed for your applications? How do you handle space restraints for creating invoices?

• How can I see what capybara found in a failing cucumber step?

  I started migrating from cucumber + webrat to cucumber + capybara. Now the behavior of "I should see " seems to be somewhat different. Most of these fail now, although I didn't change anything on the page. I replaced the snippet that should be found with some stuff that is on every page and for some text it works and for other text it doesn't. I can't find any pattern in what is found in the page's content and what is not. Webrat used to print what the page content is that it found, in case it did not contain the required phrase. Is there anyway to have capybara show what text it got from the page in which it tried to find the text?

• Code jumps out of a jar and runs? What is causing this?

  I am trying to get a sample program working with JUNG, a graphing tool in Java. I downloaded and referenced all the .jar files in eclipse so my project hierarchy looks like this: In Test.java I have the following code: public class Test { static public void main() { System.out.print("Hello"); }} For some reason though when I try to run it as a Java Application by right clicking on Jung test in the project hierarchy I am presented with a bunch of classes. My Test.java isn't on the list so if I just leave it as ** and press ok it starts running a program that is dynamically adding nodes and vertexes to a graph. I can't seem to figure out what code its actually executing. I know java but stuff like this with the jar files seems to be getting lost on me. Any ideas? Thanks

  I'm looking for a tool with which I can annotate source code. I have some 3rd party source code (JavaScript) I need to understand and I don't want to change it (add inline comments) so that line numbers can stay intact (for communication with others), I can avoid accidentally changing something and my annotations stand out compared to the authors comments. Normally I would print the whole thing out an scribble on it, but the code is too long for that and I need to share it per email. I would be great if one could do some like that including being able to create "links" between so places in the code, possibly even visually with a lines or arrows.

• Track/Display Array Index As Part Of Cout (C++)

  Hi, I have a command line C++ program that lets you enter basic information about a person (ID number, name, age, etc.) and I want to output to a console in the following manner: ------------------------------------------------------------------- Index ID # First Name Last Name Age ------------------------------------------------------------------- 0 1234 John Smith 25 The person objects are stored in an array of Persons and I've overload the ostream (<<) operator to print out all of the fields like you see. The dashed lines and header come from a displayHdg() function. Anyhow, I have not been able to figure out how to get the proper index value for the array. Ideally, I'd like to generate the indices for each line, but all my attempts have failed. The array is looped through and each object printed in the main() function, and the ostream is overloaded in a person class, so I tried to use global variables as well as static variables, and all of those produce incorrect numbering (i.e. show 0, 1 the first time (for 2 objects), then change to 1, 2 on the next display). Any ideas?
