  I am very new to Javascript. I am running to a problem and don't know how to solve it. Could you please help? Basically, I want to create some textboxes and checkboxes in a form. Then I have to validate those fields, and add the values of the checkboxes if they are selected. One of the textboxes asking for how many semesters attended, and 3 checkboxes with value of 100, 1000, and 750. Whichever checkbox is selected, it should multiply its value to the number of semesters attended. For example if the first two checkboxes are selected then totalCost = (100+1000)* semester.   According to Netsh Commands for Wired Local Area Network (LAN) in Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2, netsh should provide commands such as netsh add profile filename="profile.xml" interface="Local Area Connection" but that's an unknown command for my netsh. Even if I enter netsh show /? it shows me only two options: 'show alias' and 'show helper'. Maybe some library/modules or something is missing? I tested with admin permissions in PowerShell.

• WPF HwndHost keyboard focus

  The chart area in the screenshot is a HwndHost control which hosts a native Win32 window (with it's own registered WNDCLASS) implemented in C++/CLI and drawn with Direct2D. The HwndHost is hosted in a WPF Border control. The problem I have is that I can't set the keyboard focus to the hosted Win32 window. I want the focus to move to the hosted Win32 window when the used clicks on the chart area. I tried calling SetFocus on WM_LBUTTONDOWN, but that screws app the focus in the rest of the application. Currently, even if I click on the Win32 window, the focus remains on the tree-view on the left, and if I press the up/down cursor keys, the tree-view will get them, not the chart window. How do I make the hosted Win32 window receive keyboard input from when the user clicks on the chart area, until it clicks on another control (like the tree-view, or the toolbar)?

• Running a custom VirtualPathProvider with a PreCompiled website

  Hi, currently I have a custom VirtualPathProvider in a Asp.net MVC web application. This VirtualPathProvider checks the Area from the route "/{Area}/{Controller}/..." and uses the NameSpace.{Area}.Main.dll module to return the views that are contained in that assembly as Embedded Resources. This works great and I don't have to deploy any ascx, js, css files. Now my problem is this: I would like to precompile the aspx and ascx files in the assembly and instead of having the views as embedded resources I would have the view class with all the Response.Write and dings and dongs. I can precompile the views using the aspnet_compiler but I keep getting an error when ever the ViewEngine tries to find the view and fails. My main goal is to have a way for the first time usage of a certain view/usercontrol would be faster and don't wait for the compilation to happen. This is a requirement since the application could be grouped into plugins and this plugins be deployed into the Bin directory. Any thoughts? With best regards Carlos Sobrinho

  I have two areas: ControlPanel and Patients. Both have a controller called ProblemsController that are similar in name only. The desired results would be routes that yield /controlpanel/problems = MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController and /patients/problems = MyApp.Areas.Patients.Controllers.ProblemsController. Each has routes configured like this: public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "**Area Name Here**_default", "**Area Name Here**/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional } ); } where **Area Name Here** is either ControlPanel or Patients. When I go to /patients/problems/create (for example), I get a 404 where the routing error says: A public action method 'create' was not found on controller 'MyApp.Areas.ControlPanel.Controllers.ProblemsController'. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

• How to extend WPF hit testing zone for a Path object.

  Wpf hit testing is pretty good but the only method I found to extend the hit zone is to put a transparent padding area around your object. I can't find any method to add a transparent area arround a Path object. The path is very thin and I would like to enable hit testing if the user clicks near the path. I can't find any method to extend the path object with a transparent area like the image below : I tried to used a partially transparent stroke brush but I ran into the problem described here : http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1412833/how-can-i-draw-a-soft-line-in-wpf-presumably-using-a-lineargradientbrush I also tried to put an adorner over my line but because of WPF anti-aliasing algorithms, the position is way off when I zoom in my canvas and interfere with other objects hit-testing in a bad way.   Here's the situation: I've got two partial views. One has a form. What needs to happen is when the form is posted via an AJAX request, if the operation succeeds, the area with the second partial is repopulated with the content. However, if the posted data was invalid, the original partial is repopulated with an error message. I'm using jQuery and the ajaxForm plugin to handle the form posts and responses. Would it be "wrong"/bad coding/wtf-worthy to conditionally use $.html() to replace the content in one area when it's a 200, and a different area if it's a 500? To me, this idea smells, but I'm not sure how else to accomplish the goal.

• Bejeweled Blitz - How does it assert there is always a move?

  I have been playing Bejeweled Blitz for a while now. Yes, it is an addiction. In thinking about the game, I have observed that on some boards, the bottom runs dry (no moves) leaving only the top part of the board playable. Frequently that part of the board drys up, and one is left with moves in area cleared by the last move. The board never runs completely dry, so clearly the program is doing some sorts of calculation that allows it to choose what to drop to prevent it from running dry. I have noticed in this 'mode' that it is very common for the algorithm to drop jewels which causes more non-dry area to appear in the horizontal area. Perhaps less frequent is a drop which seems designed to open up the bottom part of the board again. So my question is "How would one go about designing an algorithm guarantee that there is always a move available.?"

  I have a series of points which I will turn into a line on a graph. What I want is to give the area under the graph a gradient fill. It would look somewhat similar to a Bloomberg graph like this; My question really has three parts; First, how should I fill only the area under the graph? Second, how do I fill that with a gradient? Finally, if I have multiple lines on the same graph any area under more than one line should have a greyscale gradient fill, how would you set this up? My biggest problem is deciding on the data structures to use, I could use many multiple sided shapes (One for each line/ data series) and then tell the brush to draw; Transparent if it's not in any shape The colour of one series if it's in one shape (Alpha relative to height to give grad) Black if it's in multiple shapes (Alpha relative to height to give grad) Then I'd draw the shapes' boundaries in white afterwards.   I am having a probelm with the z-index of my sortable object not being above my droppable. If you visit http://clareshilland.unknowndomain.co.uk/. Press Ctrl + L to bring up the login screen. Enter the username clare and the password shilland. It will then load in the admin bar and if you click manage gallery. A pop down thumbnail view will appear with all the photos from that gallery. The issue is that when you drag the 'polaroids' from the grid to the delete area they are under the delete area. I tried putting the delete area inside the same div as the grid but it makes no difference, I just don't know what to do at this point so any help would be a massive help!

The two columns consist of the main content area which is fluid height and width and a right sidebar which is fluid height and fixed width. I have done similar layouts before, but this one depends on using two different background images (one for the sidebar and one for the content area). Is there any way to implement this, using proper HTML & CSS, so that the background images of the two columns are always the same height, regardless of which columns content is longer? I've tried using JavaScript to simulate this, but it doesn't work so well if there are images in the content area. I would really prefer not to use this method any way. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have setup a staging environment at http://staging.jamesarmes.net/jimmyssandbox to provide an example. This environment is not my finished product, but I want to get the containers under control before I move any further

  I need to validate an Irish phone number but I don't want to make it too user unfriendly, many people are used to writing there phone number with brackets wrapping their area code followed by 5 to 7 digits for their number, some add spaces between the area code or mobile operator. The format of Irish landline numbers is an area code of between 1 and 4 digits and a number of between 5 to 8 digits. e.g. (021) 9876543 (01)9876543 01 9876543 (0402)39385 I'm looking for a regular expression for Javascript/PHP.   Hello, Many UML tools claim to do forward / reverse engineering of Java code. However, it turns out from prior experience, that few tools really work in this area. I haven't been doing Java projects for 3 years, and want to get up to date with the current status in this area. In Particular I am interested in Creating State Machine Skeletons from Diagram, be able to create hooks to my own code, and be able to reverse engineer the State Diagram back (Do not want to change the State Machine itself outside the Tool). • GWT complex app, many screens. Architecture?

  I'm making a GWT application which will have many screens. There will be a menu on the left and clicking a menu option will open the relevant module in the right side content area. Clicking on items in the content area will link to other modules that open in the same content area. How do I implement this architecture? How do I pass objects between the different content modules? How do I isolate each module into its own package? Can all of these be within the same Eclipse project? Anything else that should be considered?

The problem I'm having is that if div#addnote-area is below the browser's current viewport, it remains there when it's shown. I have a task sheet that looks like Area 1 item 1 startTime endTime Area 1 item1 startTime endTime I wish to create a display where I can view what even is happening next, either endTime or startTime i.e. Newcastle reel 16:45 18:45 Newcastle reel2 17:45 19:45 would output Newcastle reel 16:45 Newcastle reel 17:45 Newcastle reel 18:45 Newcastle reel 19:45 More so, I would like to detect if the time is a startTime or an endTime would I have to enter two rows for each activity (time,area,item, start|end). I can make the interface to the creation of two rows. I just wondered if there was a better solution. Any input is appreciated, Thanks, Jamie
