How to avoid flickering in jquery?

I am using jquery with asp.net webforms..... I am using asp.net pagemethods and jquery.... I am emptying a div on click of anchor tags and filling it with new content.... What happens is my div flickers when my new data is loaded to it... How to avoid this in jquery? Trouble with a query

Hi there, I'm having trouble with a query in SQL Server 2008 on some forex trading data. I have a trades table and an orders table. A trade needs to comprise of 2 or more orders. DDL schema and sample data below. What I want to do is write a query that shows the profit/loss in pips for each trade. A pip is 1/1000th of a currency. So the difference between USD 1.3441 and 1.3442 is 1 pip in forex-speak. A trade usually has one entry order and multiple exit orders. So for example if I buy 3 lots of the currency pair GBP/USD at the exchange rate of 1.6100 and then sell 1 lot at 1.6150, 1 lot at 1.6200 and 1 lot at 1.6250 then the profit is (1.6150 - 1.6100) + (1.6200 - 1.6100) + (1.6250 - 1.6100), or 50 + 100 + 150 = 300 pips profit. The trade could also go the other way (Shorting). For example the currency pair can be sold first before it's bought back later at a cheaper price. I would like a query that returns the following: tradeId, currencyPair, profitInPips It seems like a pretty straightforward query, but it's eluding me right now. Trouble on setting SSL certificates for Virtual Hosts using Apache\Phusion Passenger in localhost

I am using Ruby on Rails 3 and I would like to make to work HTTPS connections on localhost. I am using: Apache v2 + Phusion Passenger Mac OS + Snow Leopard v10.6.6 My Ruby on Rails installation use the Typhoeus gem (it is possible to use the Ruby net\http library but the result doesn't change) to make HTTP requests over HTTPS. I created self-signed ca.key, pjtname.crt and pjtname.key as detailed on the Apple website. Notice: Following instruction from the Apple website, on running the openssl req -new -key server.key -out server.csr command (see the link) at this point Common Name (eg, YOUR name) []: (this is the important one) I entered *pjtname.com so that is valid for all sub_domain of that site. Steganography Experiment - Trouble hiding message bits in DCT coefficients

I have an application requiring me to be able to embed loss-less data into an image. As such I've been experimenting with steganography, specifically via modification of DCT coefficients as the method I select, apart from being loss-less must also be relatively resilient against format conversion, scaling/DSP etc. From the research I've done thus far this method seems to be the best candidate. I've seen a number of papers on the subject which all seem to neglect specific details (some neglect to mention modification of 0 coefficients, or modification of AC coefficient etc). After combining the findings and making a few modifications of my own which include: 1) Using a more quantized version of the DCT matrix to ensure we only modify coefficients that would still be present should the image be JPEG'ed further or processed (I'm using this in place of simply following a zig-zag pattern). 2) I'm modifying bit 4 instead of the LSB and then based on what the original bit value was adjusting the lower bits to minimize the difference. 3) I'm only modifying the blue channel as it should be the least visible. This process must modify the actual image and not the DCT values stored in file (like jsteg) as there is no guarantee the file will be a JPEG, it may also be opened and re-saved at a later stage in a different format. For added robustness I've included the message multiple times and use the bits that occur most often, I had considered using a QR code as the message data or simply applying the reed-solomon error correction, but for this simple application and given that the "message" in question is usually going to be between 10-32 bytes I have plenty of room to repeat it which should provide sufficient redundancy to recover the true bits. No matter what I do I don't seem to be able to recover the bits at the decode stage. I've tried including / excluding various checks (even if it degrades image quality for the time being). I've tried using fixed point vs. double arithmetic, moving the bit to encode, I suspect that the message bits are being lost during the IDCT back to image. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to get this working would be hugely appreciated. However to get the message to come through without corruption I have to adjust both coefficients as well as swap them. For example swapping (3,4) and (4,3) in the DCT matrix and then respectively adding 8 and subtracting 8 as an arbitrary constant seems to work. This survives a re-JPEG'ing of 96 but any form of scaling/cropping destroys the message again. I was hoping that by operating on mid to low frequency values that the message would be preserved even under some light image manipulation.

Avoid richfaces to send back javascript libraries in the ajax responses

I'm using JSF 1.2 with Richfaces, and for every ajax request, the server is sending back the response, whichi is good, but it also contains all the links to the javascript files. I want to improve the performance so I just want the <body> to be returned, because all the javascript files are already loaded in the browser when the user logs in (my app is not restful). How can i do that? Having trouble running code analysis from command prompt with msbuild

I'm using VS2010 RC while targeting .NET 3.5. I can run code analysis via Visual Studio without a problem. However, when I try to run code analysis on our CI server it isn't getting executed. Trouble Deploying .Net Framework 4 Website on IIS7

Okay, I am trying to deploy a .Net framework 4 website on IIS7 server. I have already changed the application-pool's target framework to .Net 4, but the app is still showing me the error: "The configuration section 'system.web.extensions' cannot be read because it is missing a section declaration" I am guessing that has something to do with the new feature of .Net4 that lets me have a compact Web config file. I think for some reason IIS7 is not happy with this. What can I do to deploy this app successfully or do I have to scale back to v3.5? I am sure there is a solution out there. Do you have any suggestions?

Trouble with ITextSharp - Converting XML to PDF

Okay... I'm trying to use the most recent version of ITextSharp to turn an XML file into a PDF. It isn't working. The documentation on SourceForge doesn't seem to have kept up with the actual releases; the code in the provided example won't even compile under the newest version. QT: trouble with qobject_cast

I have derived QGraphicsItem and QGraphicsScene classes. I want the items to be able to call scene() and get a derviedGraphicsItem * instead of a QGraphicsItem *, so I reimplemented QGraphicsScene::itemAt to return a derived pointer. DerivedItem* DerivedScene::itemAt( const QPointF &position, const QTransform &dt ) const { return qobject_cast< DerivedItem * >( QGraphicsScene::itemAt(position, dt) ); } I get the following error (Qt 4.6, GCC 4.4.3 on Ubuntut 10.4) scene.cpp: In member function ‘DerivedItem* DerivedScene::itemAt(qreal, qreal, const QTransform&) const’: scene.cpp:28: error: no matching function for call to ‘qobject_cast(QGraphicsItem*)’ I then noticed QGraphicsItem doesn't inherit QObject, so I made my derived QGraphicsItem class have multiple inheritance from QObject and QGraphicsItem, and after adding the Q_OBJECT macro and rebuilding the project I get the same error. Am I going about this the wrong way? I know it's supposed to be bad design to try to cast a parent class as a child, but in this case it seems like what I want, since my derived item class has new functionality and its objects need a way to call that new functionality on items around themselves, and asking the items scene object with itemAt() seems like the best way - but I need itemAt() to return a pointer of the right type. I can get around this by having the derived items cast the QGraphicsItem * returned by QGraphicsScene::itemAt() using dynamic_cast, but I don't really understand why that works and not qobject_cast, or the benefits or disadvantages to using dynamic_cast vs. qobject_cast.

How to avoid "Page Expired" messages on logout with Wicket after redirect

Hi there. I'm taking my first steps in to the world of Wicket. I've set up a login form and a logout page. The logout page looks like this: public class LogoutPage extends WebPage { public LogoutPage(final PageParameters pageParams) { getSession().invalidate(); setResponsePage(getApplication().getHomePage()); } } When a user clicks the Logout link they're redirected to the homepage, so far so good. The problem is that when a user tries to click on any of the navigatable Link's they get a "Page Expired" message. I'd like to log the user out gracefully and allow the user to continue to browse the website without receiving the "Page Expired" message. Any help is greatly appreciated. By the way, I've tried to follow the Wicket examples but they seem to be using org.apache.wicket.authentication and I haven't figured out how to make this available to my project (I'm using eclipse and maven2).

MVP, WinForms - how to avoid bloated view, presenter and presentation model

When implementing MVP pattern in winforms I often find bloated view interfaces with too many properties, setters and getters. An easy example with be a view with 3 buttons and 7 textboxes, all having value, enabled and visible properties exposed from the view. Adding validation results for this, and you could easily end up with an interface with 40ish properties. Using the Presentation Model, there'll be a model with the same number of properties aswell. How do you easily sync the view and the presentation model without having bloated presenter logic that pass all the values back and forth? (With that 80ish line presenter code, imagine with the presenter test that mocks the model and view will look like..160ish lines of code just to mock that transfer.) Is there any framework to handle this without resorting to winforms databinding? (you might want to use different views than a winforms view. According to some, this sync should be the presenters job..) Would you use AutoMapper? Maybe im asking the wrong questions, but it seems to me MVP easily gets bloated without some good solution here..

Where exactly should I place the <location inheritInChildApplications="false"> so it ignores all the various web.config settings?

Trouble with codeblocks installation on Ubuntu 9.10

I installed Code::Blocks on Ubuntu 9.10, but when I start it from terminal, it shows the following error: relocation error: /usr/lib/libcodeblocks.so.0: symbol _Z18wxSafeConvertWX2MBPKw, version WXU_2.8.2 not defined in file libwx_baseu-2.8.so.0 with link time reference What is wrong with it? It seems to me I have installed all necessary libraries. Any ideas? P.S. I am a Linux noobie - so sorry if it is some kind of a well-known mistake.

Trouble switching to the beta ajaxcontroltoolkit

I wanted to switch to the beta version to see if it fixes a problem I have been having, so I downloaded it and put two dll files into my bin folder. I deleted the old references to these files in visual studio, and re-added them. When I run my program I get an error: Microsoft JScript runtime error: AjaxControlToolkit requires ASP.NET Ajax 4.0 scripts. Ensure the correct version of the scripts are referenced. If you are using an ASP.NET ScriptManager, switch to the AjaxScriptManager in System.Web.Ajax.dll, or use the ToolkitScriptManager in AjaxControlToolkit.dll. I can't figure out how to fix this. I have the new System.Web.Ajax.dll added to visual studio, but I can't see any AjaxScriptManager anywhere... Any ideas?

Perl Search and Replace Avoid Variable Interpolation

I'm really getting my butt kicked here. I can not figure out how to write a search and replace that will properly find this string. String: $QData{"OrigFrom"} $Text{"wrote"}: Note: That is the actual STRING. Those are NOT variables. I didn't write it. I need to replace that string with nothing. I've tried escaping the $, {, and }. I've tried all kinds of combinations but it just can't get it right. Someone out there feel like taking a stab at it? Thanks!
