• Store web content in XML using wiki markup

  Does anyone have an XML style sheet that'll convert wiki-like markup to HTML? Or is that a bad idea? I only found one style sheet that'll convert HTML to wiki-like markup, view-source:http://mozile.mozdev.org/0.8/demos/html2wiki.xsl . Or is this a bad idea? Basically, instead of following strict rules with my XML tags to format my content, I thought it'd be best to have something like this: <content> \## This is my heading </content> That way I'm free to display my content however I feel without having to modify my style sheet. Any ideas?

  Getting started with Nexus S NFC/RFID. Can anyone provide any guidance? I'm interested in creating some home brew demos using the nexus s NFC/RFID hardware. I think I need to find the appropriate tags and how to encode urls into tags that the nexus s can read by it's tags app. Not sure about iso 14443 tags or mifare etc Does nexus s support all of libnfc? If I root the device can I get access to write functionality? Thanks

• JQuery UI datepicker in Asp.Net MVC

  I have tried to use some of the widgets in JQuery UI on an Asp.Net MVC site without luck. For example the basic datepicker from jQuery UI - functional demos. • jQuery draggable leaving cloned html behind

  I am using jQuery UI; Draggable http://jqueryui.com/demos/draggable invoked like this: $(document).ready(function(){ $("#side_bar").sortable({ revert: true }); $(".draggable").draggable({ containment: 'parent', hascroll: true, handle: 'div.box_header', scrollSensitivity: 100, scrollSpeed: 100, axis: 'y', connectToSortable: '#side_bar', helper: 'clone', opacity: 0.35 }); }); You can see the html structure on http://www.sarsclan.co.uk (right side bar area). It seems to create a transparant clone as your dragging, but when you drop it puts the draggable div in the right place, but leaves the original div in it's place and just appends the dom with a clone of that original div in its new place.

• Jquery click function does not load ajax tabs

  I have some tabs that load ajax content. When I click on the tabs it loads the ajax content perfectly no issues works exactly like it does in the Jqueryui demos. But when I try and change tab using an onclick function it opens the tab but doesn't do the ajax. Is this a known issue can it be done?? Do ajax tabs rely on the user clicking the href to know what to load. This is the code: $(".step2next").click(function() $('#signuptabs').tabs("select" , 1));

• jQuery plugin: Validation can't be customized without setting all fields to 'required'?

  I've spent the day looking at jQuery plugin: Validation by Jörn Zaefferer. I notice that it works fine as long as you call the validate() method without options. In my little squalid world, as soon as I add options, like errorPlacement, I notice that validation ignores form fields that are not marked required. I also notice that many, many demos mark all fields required---or do not pass options. Am I writing about anything familiar here? Or should I astral project to a parallel universe?

  hello, I have installed Red5 server successfully and also am able to run the demos fine. Now, I want to create a sample red5 server application. I created a sample project according to the specific directory structure that Red5 requires. But, now when i try to open this project in Netbeans 6.8, i am unable to because both have a different directory structure. So, Netbeans doesn't consider it as a project. I actually want to convert this project to a war file, so i can deploy it to red5/webapps directory and then red5 deployer service can make project out it automatically. How do i convert this project to a war file? because in Netbeans i am unable to open it. Please help. Thanks in advance :)

• Reading and decoding PDF-417 barcodes stored in an image or PDF file from within a .NET application

  I am looking for a .NET library that is able to decode data from a PDF-417 barcode that is embedded either in an image file or PDF. At this point, I have only been able to find a Java version and a C version. Ideally, this library would be both open-source and free of charge, but I doubt such a decoder exists. I am open to trying out demos of existing products that you may have had experience with - which leads me to the question - have you had any experience reading PDF-417 barcodes embedded in images or PDFs using .NET, and which of the available products would you recommend to do so?

• Qt on Mac: where to find "configure"

  hi, I am very new to Mac. I downloaded QT SDK Mac Open source (http://get.qt.nokia.com/qtsdk/qt-sdk-mac-opensource-2010.02.dmg) and installed the Package. I can run qmake, build samples and run demos, but I cannot run configure (in order to build the Qt libraries statically). It says: -bash: No such file or directory. Documentation says I should run this in the "Qt root folder", but what is this folder in Mac? I looked for it in /usr/bin, /usr/local/Qt4.6, /Developer/Tools/Qt. Anyway, what is "configure" on Mac. is it an executable or a script? Thanks a lot

• How to combine several movieclips into one scene?

  Hi everyone, I'm creating a website that allows kids to designs a tshirt. I will have four section, colour, graphic, text and print. I have created these sections on demos and they are all working. I now need to properly create them all on one movie clip. I'm having problems with it, when i select the chosen tshirt colour and move onto the graphic section the shirt is white again and hasnt came through blue. Its the same for every section, when I select a grahic they dont come through either etc when I click the next button it refreshs the page. Does anyone know how to create this kind of design on one movie clip using different frames and so that the colour etc transfers onto each new page? PLEASE HELP!!!

• Are there any good books on writing commercial quality software?

  Hey, My background has been generally new technology demonstrators, which, well... demonstrate the latest technology and how it can be of use to a clients company. They use it for internal demos etc. Now my career has shiffed course a bit more into actual products, in particular software which runs in locations like museums as interactive pieces. Clearly, although the technology demonstrators had to be well coded etc, there wasn't as much emphasis as there is on my current work, which has to work, be highly configurable, probably multi-ligual and run constantly, without restarts. So my question is, now that I'm trying to up my coding quality and write more commercial applications, are there any books which discuss issues surrounding high quality commercial software? I currently have a copy of Code Complete 2nd Edition, which is excellent, but just wondering if there's any better, possibly more focused titles out there? Thanks a lot! Andy.

• SDL versus GLFW?

  What are the pros and cons to each? It seems they serve the same purpose. I have a few demos with each and they seem about the same. Performance or cross platform wise, is one better than the other? The only thing I notice is that SDL seems to have more "helper" libraries (fonts, images, mixer, built in sound support, etc). On its site, GLFW claims to be more "OpenGL" focused, but still have to use a GLEW to get any newer OpenGL features (same with SDL). I guess I'm leaning towards using SDL now (more mature, more features, more community). Are there any reasons I've missed why GLFW stands out and I should use it instead of SDL?

• jQuery Dialog theme not being applied

  I'm using jquery-1.4.2.min.js and jquery-ui-1.8.1.custom.min.js. According to Firebug, both minimized scripts have been loaded. They both appear in the dropdown list on Firebug's Scripts tab. The dialog is launching, but there's no background and so the text below it shows through, and there's no "window" stuff at all, no titlebar, no X button. Just the floating/draggable text with a -close- link at the top left corner. I was under the impression from reading these pages http://jqueryui.com/demos/dialog/ http://jqueryui.com/themeroller/ that the UI theme-driven appearance would be automatically applied to the dialog when it was invoked using this barebones call: $('#dialog').dialog() I would be grateful for suggestions on how to troubleshoot this. • How to structure a Visual Studio project for the data access layer

  I currently have a project that uses various DB access technologies mainly for showcasing or for demos. Currently we have: Namespace App.Data (App.Data.dll) Folder NHibernate Folder EntityFramework Folder LinqToSql The above structure is ok as we only use Sql Server as the DB. But going forward we will be including Oracle, MySql etc. So what would be a better structure with this in mind?   Hello all, Where I can find DeskUtil documentation/help? I am trying to build Delphi add-in and I have some troubles with saving/registering/loading the add-in docking form into the active IDE desktop. I am using the DeskUtil methods after reading some examples here and there, but, examples don’t go deep in how these methods work, and in the mechanism of the IDE loading/destroying. Is there any official documentation/help about the DeskUtil or the OpenTools Api?   Consider the following snippet: $(document).bind('mousemove', function(e) { $('#someDiv').css({left: e.pageX+'px', top: e.pageY+'px'}); }); This should make #someDiv follow the mouse (tooltip), when the css value for "position" is set to absolute. Works as expected, except when you Zoom IN or OUT in IE7 ( dind't try other version of IE). Then the e.pageX gets completely off. The more you zoom in (using your mousewheel + CTRL), the more off the positioning gets. I've tried to break jQuery's UI demos (sliders) and it seems not even jQuery guys have this figured out. Is there any genius out there who knows how to fix this nasty thing? Thanks in advance!

• WPF Dragging a window to the desktop

  I've seen some nice Adobe AIR demos where a component of the application is dragged outside of the application and dropped onto the desktop and then continues to run in a new window. This seems to be facilitated by the NativeDragManager class. Is there anything similar in WPF? How would you go about implementing this sort of functionality in WPF to allow a user control to be dragged to the desktop and then continue to run in a new window? This is great for multi-monitor scenarios and exactly what msft have added to vs2010. Regards pfaz

Associated with any web page, i want to create notes that will be saved locally in a database, the notes will be reloaded automatically from that database the next time i visit the same page. Creating the note is easy, but i'm looking for how to link the notes to the web page url and how to keep aware of the active web page. Any idea? Firefox throws an error that simply says "$(" for that line. Anyone know what might be causing this?

• How can I cover up a <div>'s border with another <div>?

  I am trying to move GCLI's input from the bottom of the page to the top. However, I can't get it to look quite right. Why can't I get the .gcli-panel-connector <div> to cover up the .gcli-tt <div>'s border? I think it has something to do with the z-index.
