• Looking for jQuery slideshow where a user can hide/show a block of text (link, caption)

  I'm looking to implement a fairly basic jQuery slideshow. One that automatically loops through a set number of images. The snag I'm running into is i'd like to have a little icon in the corner of the picture, that when clicked, brings up a transparent black bar across the bottom with some text and perhaps a link. Has anybody come across anything like this? This gallery is close, but lacks user control for showing/hiding the caption (and might be somewhat restrictive of what text can be used): http://www.queness.com/resources/html/slideshow/jquery-slideshow.html Anyway, if anybody has any tips or links that would be great.   Hi there! I have an hierachical XML data, and I want to display it as a tree. The XML data is something like this: <services> <service name="TestService" endpoint=""> <method name="sayHi"> <parameter name="firstName" /> <parameter name="lastName" /> </method> <method name="sayGoodbye"> <parameter name="firstName" /> <parameter name="lastName" /> </method> </service> <service name="AnotherTestService"> <method name="getName" /> <method name="setName"> <parameter name="name" /> </method> </service> </services> However, I don't want to display the last elements (parameters) in the tree because, well, it is not meant to be displayed, but still it has to be there. Any advice on how can I achieve that? I am thinking of either extending DefaultDataDescriptor or create a class which implement ITreeDataDescriptor. Which approach will be suitable in this case?

  Hi: I have three tables: Suppliers, Parts and Types. I need to join all of them while discriminating columns with the same name (say, "id") in the three tables. I would like to successfully run this query: CREATE VIEW Everything AS SELECT Suppliers.name as supplier, Parts.id, Parts.description, Types.typedesc as type FROM Suppliers JOIN (Parts JOIN Types ON Parts.type_id = Types.id) ON Suppliers.id = Parts.supplier_id; My DBMS (sqlite) complains that "there is not such a column (Parts.id)". I guess it forgets table names once the JOIN is done but then how can I refer to the column id that belongs to the table Parts?

• How to hide certain elements on a page using jQuery

  I am trying to implement something that is similar to a faceted search. My data is a series of objects and relationships. The idea is that you click an object (in this case "95 Theses" and then the possibly relationships are displayed, in this case "author" and clicking the relationship shows the object that matches the relationship, in this case "Martin Luther". My clicking of objects and relationsips (predicates) works fine. What I need to do is allow users to click an object or relationship and have all those that extend from it removed.   Hi, I need to provide a C static library to the client and need to be able to make a struct definition unavailable. On top of that I need to be able to execute code before the main at library initialization using a global variable. • What's the correct way to hide/prevent access to wp-admin

  I'm dealing with this matter since a while, I have read a ton of articles and stuff out there but I couldn't find a place that shows the RIGHT way, standard, correct, whatever you like to call it, to prevent access to my wp-admin or wp-login.php On all Wordpress sites I see (the well made ones) you will never see anything if you type thesite.com/wp-admin As I could see, one way to do this is by restricting the access to that folder by creating an .htaccess file and restrict by IP the access to the folder. Seems to be the "cleanest" way to do. What I'm not sure about it is that I have a dynamic address provided by my ISP, so on a certain time my IP will change, that will force me to also change the .htaccess to my new address, I don't see that practical. I can set a range also, but by doing that I will also authorize access to all people within that range of IPs (other clients of my ISP for example). I'm then struggling to find the best/standard way to do this. Anyone can help me? Thanks

  I had the same problem that The-Kenny at this post but I fixed it adding the windowDidResignKey: method on the MAAttachedWindow.m, but now my problem is that when I click outside the StatusBar item keeps blue background and when I click another time on the status item it goes normally and I have to click a second time on it to show the window.   Hi I have an (unordered)list (generated by a repeater) of items. However, I'd like to show the first three items, and have the rest hidden by the main content div. When a button is pressed, I would like the list's div to expand, pushing the main content div down and showing the rest of the list. I was thinking of using slideDown(), but that closes the entire div ( and I would like to show the first 3 items of the list). What would be the best way to achieve an effect like this? Is there a plugin that can easily show X items of a list and the display the rest upon request? Thanks

• Custom OData operation / customize EF model to hide join table in many-to-many relationship

  I've got a data model that has two tables with a join table for a many to many relationship & creating an OData service to expose the data for CRUD ops in a Silverlight app. What I'd like to do is abstract the join table from the service. I'm not sure if the best way to do this would be in the model (using EF in .NET3.5SP1) or if I should do it with a custom service operation. If I do it in the EF model (not sure how I'd do this), then the OOTB WCF Data Service stuff would make it easy to say [..]/Courses(1)/Modules ... otherwise I'd have to create a custom operation to do this. Is it possible to do this in the EF model and if so, how does that work?

  I am using Xcode 5.1.1. I have a UITabViewController and used Storyboard to add 10 views to it. It works great and I get the "more" and table view all for free. I only want to show some of the tabs at the beginning. Once the user logs in with their Google+ account (I actually got that working), then I want the rest of the tabs to appear, since they are content sensitive to the user logging in.   I'm in the process of making some improvements to a live Drupal site that's using the Domain Access module to run a number of microsites. I'm trying to find a way of restricting the menus a user can post content to from the node edit screen. A user on one of the domains should only be able to post content to menus associated with that domain. Is there a simple way of achieving this? I'm guessing there are some hooks I could use, but so far I have been unable to identify them. I'd prefer not to have to install further modules to achieve this and to be able to add some code to the current site to alter the forms. The site is struggling with the large number of modules we've had to install on it already.

  Hi, I have 2 scripts working ok separately but can't get them working together - What I'm after is expanding menus where if the items exceed 10 a 'more' link appears that expands the list, which can also then be hidden. http://www.brianfitzer.ie/test2/ expanding menu is file test12.html toggle+limit: toggle is file test13.html (I have these working separately) And then I need this to be able to be applied in multiple instances as I'll have multiple categories. I have one panel "imageHolder" I have from 4 to 20 pictureboxes (each pictureBox is 256x256px so they increase the panel's size to more than the cellphone's workarea) I have set the panel's autoscroll = true, so that a V and H scrollbar is shown. Is it possible to make these scrollbars not visible? The reason i want them to be not visible: - I want to be able to use touch to move around in the panel, and thought that i can do this by just increasing/decreasing the scrollbar's position. Is there a way to do this? (I have searched, but can't seem to find anything useful. Looks like the scrollbars are a bit limited) Do you recommend me to do it some other way?
