    I'm having trouble printing a label using ZDesigner GK420T using C# .NET. I converted the following string to Bytes and passed into the printer. ^XA ^FO3,3^AD^FDZEBRA^FS ^XZ The expected outcome was that the printer was supposed to print 'ZEBRA' but it didn't.   • bad printer isolation on print server or better way?

    I have noticed that when a printer or driver screws up on a Windows server it usually locks up or kills the print spooler and everyone can't print until it is fixed. Usually we have to put the troublesome printer on another server so when it fails, it doesn't take the whole group with it. That is assuming we ever figure out which printer is the problem. Is there a way to have it so that one bad apple doesn't ruin the bunch? Even if it is another form of printer serving, that would work as long as it's not hard for the user to find a printer and install drivers.

  • Ubuntu 14.04:LTS , HPLIP loses USB connection to HP laserjet

    This is my first post, so please let me know if i have inadvertanly broken any rules. Problem There seems to be a problem with HPLIP and USB connections in ubuntu 14.04LTS. After upgrading i managed to get the printing to work but today it has broken. Initial Issue (Solved) After upgrading to unbutntu 14.04 LTS my printer lHP LaserJet 1018 stopped printing (code=12) Looking through the Forumsthere are several issues with printitng and HPLIP so I was able to troubleshoot this. The steps I took were : Reran HPdoctor Ran hp-check Un-installed and installed the latest version of HPLIP (3.14.4) Checked the USB connections lsusb and lsusb-v Re-ran hpcheck Removed the printer from HPLIP Re-ran hpcheck Manually configued HPLIP to the printer hp-setup-g <xxx:yyy> And this worked HPLIP was able to see the printer in the USB , test page printed and was happily working for a few weeks. Current Issue Printer Not working However today my wife complains the printer is not working and checking see that although HPLIP has the same error code and did not seem to be able to see the printer although running lsusb could see the printer. Initially thought this may be due to usb given a new bus/device after being turned on and off and went to repeat the steps above at the moment still seeing an error in that the HPLIP is complaining that it cannot see the device **error: Device not found.     The printer won't print with empty color cartridges. I want to print only black ink. From what I've read so far the Epson Stylus C84 won't print like this because it uses a little bit of color in even when you print only in black to prevent the ink heads from drying out.   • BT socket Device over Structured Cabling

    Not sure if this is the right stack* site to post on but I believe cabling is a just subject. Essentially I have a Credit Card machine which is connected to a phone line via standard BT Socket. So basically, the port of the wall has a balun plugged in which takes the RJ45 outlet on the wall to BT, so I can plug the device in. This works fine, however I need the machine to be on the other side of the room so want to route it through my patch panel (strucutered cabling). How can this be done? So Device -- ? -- RJ45 port -- Patch Panel -- ? -- Balun out wall outlet Where ? is to be filled in ! :)

Does one typically require less RAM on the printer? Speed differences? For home use it doesn't matter and only professional print people will notice and care?   • How to fix unstable RJ45 jacks? [closed]

    This is a little project I'm doing at home. I wanted to wire two rooms together (basically, the router is one room, and the switch is in the second room). So I ran a CAT5 between the two rooms, and wired an RJ45 jack in each room. I then hooked up the two jacks with two CAT5 cable to run it through the cable tester, and all 8 wires seem good. Now, when I connect the switch and the router, the connection is unstable -- I ping the router and it barely holds on for two pings before it disconnects, and stays in that unstable state. Just to make sure the router and the switch are ok, I connected them with long wire between the two rooms and the connection is absolutely stable, and pings continuously. What could be the cause for the unstable connection? Especially that it pings a few times, so there IS a connection. But why is it unstable? And how come the cable tester says it's ok, but it's unstable?

  • Word 2007 consistently crashes when I use my VPN

    Hi, My Office 2007 consistently crashes when I use it while connected to the VPN. This happens even with local files. When I try to paste stuff, it tries to connect to the printer (over VPN) and if I stop the process (which in itself blocks for about a minute), then Word 2007 is bound to crash a few seconds afterwords. My VPN is Check Point VPN-1 SecureClient Anyone knows what can be done with this problem?
