    Hi, I run the following to unzip and want to over write the current files if they exist but the microsoft solution found here(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms723207%28VS.85%29.aspx) doesn't seem to work.   • Rails NoMethodError in loop when method exists

    Good day all. I'm running into a bit of a problem getting a script running on my production environment, even though it works just fine on my dev box. I've verified that all the requisite gems and such are the same version. I should mention that the script is intended to be run with the script/runner command. Here is a super-condensed version of what I'm trying to do, centered around the part that's broken: def currentDeal marketTime = self.convertToTimeZone(Time.new) deal = Deal.find(:first, :conditions = ["start_time ? AND market_id = ? AND published = ?", marketTime, marketTime, self.id, 1]) return deal end markets = Market.find(all) markets.each do |market| deal = market.currentDeal puts deal.subject end Now convertToTimeZone is a method attached to the model. So, this code works just fine on my dev machine, as stated. However, attempting to run it on my production machine results in: undefined method `subject' for nil:NilClass (NoMethodError) If, however, I go into the console on the production box and do this: def currentDeal marketTime = self.convertToTimeZone(Time.new) deal = Deal.find(:first, :conditions = ["start_time ? AND market_id = ? AND published = ?", marketTime, marketTime, self.id, 1]) return deal end market = Market.find(1) deal = market.currentDeal puts deal.subject It returns the correct value, no problem. So what is going on? This is on rails v 2.3.5, on both machines. Thanks for any help

  • Create two semi-transparent images that when stacked produce the target image

    Due to CSS limitations I am forced to stack to semi-transparent images on my website. I won't go into detail regarding the CSS since if I can get this question answered the problem is moot. Anyway, I would like to modify image A in the GIMP such that it will look like it did originally after being stacked on top of image B. Both image A and image B have their opacities set to 50%. Image B is a solid color throughout, whereas image A has some minor details such as a gradient.   • django handling file uploads - target different than media folder

    Hi, I want to enable the user to upload media which will not be saved in the media folder. When I use the following line of code data will be uploaded to media/upload/logo . logo_img = models.FileField(upload_to='upload/logo', blank=True) I'm wondering how I can change this behaviour. I would try to write a custom FileField and a view that serves the data based on the database entries. I do not want to place the data the user uploads to the media folder, since it is no public data. Is this approach correct? Are there solutions out there which do exactly what I want and I would reinvent the wheel with implementing this by myself? Would appreciate any help!

  • T-SQL error object exists when separated in if/else blocks

    I get the error: Msg 2714, Level 16, State 1, Line 16 There is already an object named '#mytemptable' in the database. There are ways around it, but wonder why this happens. Seems like SQL Server is verifying both blocks of the if/else statement? declare @choice int select @choice = 1 if @choice = 1 begin select 'MyValue = 1' AS Pick into #my_temp_table end else begin select 'MyValue <> 1' AS Pick into #my_temp_table end select * from #temptable drop table #temptable If the tables have different names, it works. Or if I create the temp table and use Insert Into... statements that works as well.

  • Checking whether an object exists in StructureMap container

    I'm using StructureMap to handle the creation of NHibernate's ISessionFactory and ISession. I've scoped ISessionFactory as a singleton so that it's only created once for my web app and I've scoped ISession as a hybrid so that it will only be opened once per web request. I want to make sure that at the end of each web request, I properly dispose of ISession if it was created for that web request. I figured I could put some code in my Application_EndRequest routine to first check if an ISession was created, and if so, call ISession.Dispose. My current workaround is to just open up an ISession on Application_BeginRequest then dispose of it on Application_EndRequest, but that seems somewhat wasteful in that static file requests for images and css files and whatnot will create an ISession without ever using it. I know that the overall performance hit is negligable since ISessions are very lightweight, but it's getting annoying seeing all those ISessions being created inside NHProf.

I am very confused why it thinks SiteTypeInstallation has a composite key at all when @Id is clearly defining a simple key, and doubly confused why it picks exactly just those two columns. Any idea why this happens? Is it possible that JBoss (5.0 EAP) + Hibernate somehow remembers a mistaken idea of the primary key across server restarts and code redeployments?   • Most cost effective way to target multiple mobile platforms

    Hi I have been given the tasks of speccing a mobile application, which will need to run on approx. 1000 devices. These devices already exist, and consist of iPhones, BlackBerrys, Androids, Windows Mobile and Netbooks. The application will have simple reporting capability, and a collection of forms. Anyway, the obvious solution would be to develop some browser based solution, although given the occasionally connected nature of the devices, there's a potential for data to get lost / not saved. So instead of creating a complex application for each platform, I was thinking we could build what is effectively a form generator, with basic offline storage capability (text files), designed to run on each device, and have the device generate a form, based on for example an XML file that it could request from a server somewhere, resulting in minimal specialist development costs, and the ability to run most of the logic from the server end, with the devices being dumb clients that render forms and upload the data when there is an available connection. Anyway, my question summarised is, how have you made the decision on supporting multiple devices for your application. Is this always an unavoidable problem, and you just have to make the call to support 1 or 2, or pay for developers to write code for each platform, or alternatively supply pre-installed devices to the company?     In my custom module, I'd like to include an extra block and style sheet that targets only pages within my custom module. So that when i access myserver.com/configurator/ Pages will use the correct template I specified In the catalog.xml file, I noticed <catalog_category_default> That seems to be what I am looking for, so I tried: <configurator_default_default> <reference name="root"> <action method="setTemplate"><template>configurator/2columns-right.phtml</template></action> </reference> <reference name="head"> <action method="addCss"><stylesheet>css/configurator.css</stylesheet></action> </reference> <reference name="content"> <block type="configurator/guide" name="timeline" template="configurator/guide/timeline.phtml" /> </reference> </configurator_default_default> But it doesn't change the template for pages within the module. I also tried <configurator_guide_default> But it doesn't pick up the correct template If i put it within the specific page such as <configurator_guide_page1> Then it works.

    I have a method, which I wish to execute on the UI message pump and thus do the following: private void SomeMethod() { BeginInvoke(new MethodInvoker(MethodToInvoke)); } private void MethodToInvoke() { // This method contains code that I wish to execute on UI message pump. } Now, the above works just fine when I create a Debug build of the project.   • Which Android platform and API to target?

    I'm just about to launch my first Android app, and it runs on the Android 1.1 platform, API Level 2, but is this what I should officially sign and launch the app as? Does it affect performance at all or is it simply for Android to know which devices it works on? The only problem I see is that I can't specify <supports-screens> in the Manifest, which I would like to do, but it appears I'd have to launch at 1.6 at least for this to work. Would I be missing a huge number of phones by launching at 1.6 instead of 1.1? Thank you!

    I have the following tables: user (userid int [pk], name varchar(50)) action (actionid int [pk], description nvarchar(50)) being referenced by another table that captures the relationship: <user1> <action>'s <user2>. I did this with the following table: userAction (userActionId int [pk], actionid int [fk: action.actionid], **userId1 int [fk ref's user.userid; on del/update cascade], userId2 int [fk ref's user.userid; on del/update cascade]**). However, when I try to save the userAction table i get an error because I have two cascading fk's against user.userid. Is there any way to remedy this or must I use a trigger?

    In order to select data from part of an application that isn't affected by dirty data, I create a TransactionScope that specifies a ReadUncommitted IsolationLevel as per the suggestion from Hanselman here. My question is, do I still need to execute the oTS.Complete() call at the end of the using block even if this transaction scope was not built for the purpose of bridging object dependencies across 2 databases during an Insert, Update, or Delete?   • How to properly set relationships in Core Data when using setValue and data already exists

    Let's say I have two objects: Articles and Categories. For the sake of this example all relevant categories have already been added to the data store. When looping through data that holds edits for articles, there is category relationship information that needs to be saved. I was planning on using the -setValue method in the Article class in order to set the relationships like so: - (void)setValue:(id)value forUndefinedKey:(NSString *)key { if([key isEqualToString:@"categories"]){ NSLog(@"trying to set categories..."); } } The problem is that value isn't a Category, it is just a string (or array of strings) holding the title of a category. I could certainly do a lookup within this method for each category and assign it, but that seems inefficient when processing a whole bunch of articles at once. Another option is to populate an array of all possible categories and just filter, but my question is where to store that array? Should it be a class method on Article? Is there a way to pass in additional data to the -setValue method? Is there another, better option for setting the relationship I'm not thinking of? Thanks for your help.

  • How to manipulate the GL.bindframebuffer to target to bind GL_EXT_framebuffer

    I'm trying to change the framebuffer object from GL_ARB_framebuffer and force it to use GL_EXT_framebuffer since my system is not compatible with the first one. Where in the solution do I need to implement this and how? more information on my problem whenever I create a new Windows OpenGL project from Visual Studio using MonoGame i get the error "cannot find entry point in glbindframebuffer in opengl32.dll" since the framebuffer it uses is GL_ARB_framebuffer which is only supported in Opengl 3 so in a github post i read Gihub post where they suggest this patch that in order to patch you need to force the frame buffers to use GL_EXT_framebuffer but I dont know how to force them to use the EXT instead of the ARB , btw Im using Opengl v2 Mobile intel 4 series card, which is Opengl v2 and ARB needs Opengl v3.

    I have the following XML that is provided to me and I cannot change it: <Parent> <Settings Version="1234" xmlns="urn:schemas-stuff-com"/> </Parent> I am trying to retrieve the "Version" attribute value using XPath. It appears since the xmlns is defined without an alias it automatically assigns that xmlns to the Settings node. When I read this XML into an XMLDocument and view the namespaceURI value for the Settings node it is set to "urn:schemas-stuff-com". I have tried: //Parent/Settings/@Version - returns Null //Parent/urn:schemas-stuff-com:Settings/@Version - invalid syntax
