• Issues using SoapUI with Eclipse

  I get the following in the Error log when using the latest SoapUI 3.5. plugin in Eclipse Galileo on Ubuntu. Also, this seems to continually freeze Eclipse. I have tried a complete uninstall and restarting Eclipse with -clean argument to no avail. Has anyone encountered the same issue? Is there anything I can do to fix this?   Firefox 15 includes an all new PDF reader built into the browser–for those of you wondering, that means you can finally disable the Adobe PDF Plugin and uninstall it once and for all. Note: obviously if you need to access more advanced PDF features, you’ll still need the Adobe plugin. For most of us, however, the built-in viewer is fine, or you could download PDF files and read them in the offline Adobe Reader. Enabling Firefox’s Built-in PDF Reader Open Firefox and navigate to about:config. This will bring up a sarcastic warning telling you that you might void your warranty, just click the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” button to move on. Now you will need to search for: browser.preferences.inContent When you find it, right click on it and select Toggle from the context menu. • Interactive Reporting with BI Publisher 11G

  One of the new features that came out with BI Publisher 11G and made me really excited about is the Interactive Viewer, which allows you to interact with the data presented in the reports and gain more insights about the data. You can have as many Table, Chart, Pivot Table, Gauge components in a single report and all of them are linked together so that you can click on any data point on the components such as Chart, Pivot Table, Gauge, and that would refresh other components in the report to reflect the selection without refreshing the whole report or page. No longer you need to navigate to another report or open other reports to see related data or drill down to the detail data. It’s all there within a single report. Well, sounds cliché but really this is a typical case of ‘seeing is believing’, so instead of reading I would love you guys to take a look so I’ve recorded the following video. Please take a look !   The above video shows you the power of the BI Publisher Interactive Viewer with a real data from San Francisco Airport.   We're very close to wrapping up a WPF dashboarding application using SSRS (.RDLC files) and the Microsoft Report Viewer. For a number of reasons, this combination has turned out to be less than what we had hoped. One of the biggest problems is that the Microsoft Report Viewer is not a WPF control. We've had other problems as well. Our app consists of at least 5 tabs and each tab has at least 4-5 charts on it. All the charts update on their own timed schedules (like every 15-30 minutes). For the next version I'd like to explore other .NET charting tools for WPF. Performance is absolutely critical. As is resource usage. The tool must support WPF and as many chart types as possible. Can anyone recommend (or not recommend) charting tools they have experience with? We own Telerik and I've dabbled with their charting control. At the 30K foot level, it seems quite nice.

  I am creating a 3d flying game and using DXUTCamera for my view. I can get the camera to take on the characters position, But I would like to view my character in the 3rd person. • Mixing JavaFX, HTML 5, and Bananas with the NetBeans Platform

  The banana in the image below can be dragged. Whenever the banana is dropped, the current date is added to the viewer: What's interesting is that the banana, and the viewer that contains it, is defined in HTML 5, with the help of a JavaScript and CSS file. The HTML 5 file is embedded within the JavaFX browser, while the JavaFX browser is embedded within a NetBeans TopComponent class. The only really interesting thing is how drop events of the banana, which is defined within JavaScript, are communicated back into the Java class. Here's how, i.e., in the Java class, parse the HTML's DOM tree to locate the node of interest and then set a listener on it. (In this particular case, the event listener adds the current date to the InstanceContent which is in the Lookup.) • Solaris 11 VNC Server is "blurry" or "smeared"

  I've been annoyed by quality of the image that is displayed by my VNC viewer when I visit a Solaris 11 VNC server. How should I describe the image? Blurry? Grainy? Smeared? Low resolution? Compressed? Badly encoded? This is what I have gotten used to seeing on Solaris 11: This is not a problem for me when I view Solaris 10 VNC servers. I've finally taken the time to investigate, and the solution is simple. On the VNC client, don't allow "Tight" encoding. My VNC Viewer will negotiate to Tight encoding if it is available. When negotiating with the Solaris 10 VNC server, Tight is not a supported option, so the Solaris 10 server and my client will agree on ZRLE.  Now that I have disabled Tight encoding on my VNC client, the Solaris 11 VNC Servers looks much better: How should I describe the display when my VNC client is forced to negotiate to ZRLE encoding with the Solaris 11 VNC Server? Crisp? Clear? Higher resolution? Using a lossless compression algorithm? When I'm on a low bandwidth connection, I may re-enable Tight compression on my laptop. In the mean time, the ZRLE compression is sufficient for a coast-to-coast desktop, through the corporate firewall, encoded with VPN, through my ISP and onto my laptop. YMMV.

  Here are the notes for this week’s release: Pull Requests We’ve added the ability to see the snippets of code where a user commented inline in the discussion of pull requests. You can also add another line comment directly from the discussion area, rather than navigating to the code diff viewer. Note that there’s currently a known issue where the line associated with the comment isn’t being properly differentiated for existing pull requests (the line in the middle of each diff preview should be bolded). Apologies for the inconvenience! As part of this work, we also took some time to clean up our diff viewer UI to remove the dots and introduce a new color scheme where green is used for added lines. Bug Fixes Fixed an issue affecting the ability to assign pull requests. Fixed an issue where managing various team resources for a project was not working in Chrome or Firefox. Fixed an issue where a project’s RSS subscribe dialog popped up in the wrong place. Fixed an issue where editing wiki anchor links would insert extra characters, resulting in broken links. No forks necessary! If you’re on a small team of contributors, this is a great way to conduct code reviews for changes to your project. We now support e-mail notifications to be delivered whenever a comment is added to a pull request or line of code pertaining to a pull request. • Make Text and Images Easier to Read with the Windows 7 Magnifier

  Do you have impaired vision or find it difficult to read small print on your computer screen? Today, we’ll take a closer look at how to magnify that hard to read content with the Magnifier in Windows 7. Magnifier was available in previous versions of Windows, but the Windows 7 version comes with some notable improvements. There are now three screen modes in Magnifier. Full Screen and Lens mode, however, require Windows Aero to be enabled. If your computer doesn’t support Aero, or if you’re not using am Aero theme, Magnifier will only work in Docked mode. Using Magnifier in Windows 7 You can find the Magnifier by going to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Ease of Access > Magnifier.   Alternately, you can type magnifier into the Search box in the Start Menu and hit Enter. On the Magnifier toolbar, choose your View mode by clicking Views and choosing from the available options. Clicking the plus (+) and minus (-) buttons will zoom in or zoom out. You can change the zoom in/out percentage by adjusting the slider bar. You can also enable color inversion and select tracking options. Click OK when finished to save your settings.   After a brief period, the Magnifier Toolbar will switch to a magnifying glass icon. Simply click the magnifying glass to display the Magnifier Toolbar again.   Docked Mode In Docked mode, a portion of the screen is magnified and docked at the top of the screen. The rest of your desktop will remain in it’s normal state. You can then control which area of the screen is magnified by moving your mouse.   Full Screen Mode This magnifies your entire screen and follows your mouse as you move it around. If you loose track of where you are on the screen, use the Ctrl + Alt + Spacebar shortcut to preview where your mouse pointer is on the screen.   Lens Mode The Lens screen mode is similar to holding a magnifying glass up to your screen. Full screen mode magnifies the area around the mouse. The magnified area moves around the screen with your mouse.    Shortcut Keys Windows key + (+) to zoom in Windows key + (-) to zoom out Windows key + ESC to exit Ctrl + Alt + F – Full screen mode Ctrl + Alt + L – Lens mode Ctrl + Alt + D – Dock mode Ctrl + Alt + R – Resize the lens Ctrl + Alt + Spacebar – Preview full screen Conclusion Windows Magnifier is a nice little tool if you have impaired vision or just need to make items on the screen easier to read. • How do I print unprintable web pages?

  I want to print out a web page that seems to be unprintable in both Firefox and Chrome. It is multiple pages but when I print it out in Firefox and Chrome, they only print the first page. The only way I have found to print out the page is to print it in IE in XPS Document Writer format. Is there a tool (e.g., web browser or web browser plugin) that will help? Or is there a setting I can use in Firefox or Chrome?

  I'm having an issue running Windows XP professional guests using Vmware workstation 7.0.0 build-203739 in a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit host. My platform is a Dell Studio XPS 13 with 6GB RAM with an x64 processor. The VMWare freezes for up to 90s every 15 - 20 minutes, then just carries on as if nothing happened! I've no idea what the problem is ... Any idea?

  I have a Dell XPS 420. I've installed Windows 7 RTM (x64) I have this audio device: SIGMATEL STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio I have tried using the windows 7 basic driver, and also the Vista 64-bit driver from Dell's website (details): Date: 10/29/2007 Version: 6.10.0.5511, A04 File Size: 7 MB With both drivers, I get normal stereo sound from the driver, but my 5.1 surround sound doesn't work. Has anyone experienced this? Is there a fix?
