  • Only error showing is null, rss feed reader not working

    I have been following a tutorial which is showing me how to create an rssfeed reader, I come to the end of the tutorial; and the feed is not displaying in the listView. So I am looking for errors in logCat, but the only one I can find is one just saying 'null', which is not helpful at all. Can anyone spot a potential problem with the code I have written? Thanks. So I don't have have keep a local set of images for the standard entities, e.g classes, interfaces, junits, etc. EDIT : I used PlatformUI.getWorkbench().getSharedImages().getImage(ISharedImages.IMG_OBJ_FILE) from the article : http://www.eclipse.org/articles/Article-Using%20Images%20In%20Eclipse/Using%20Images%20In%20Eclipse.html. How can I access "file/misc" when app is deployed to tomcat?

  • Hibernate Communications Link Failure in Restlet-Hibernate Based Java application powered by MySQL

    Let me describe my question - I have a Java application - Hibernate as the DB interfacing layer over MySQL. I get the communications link failure error in my application. The occurence of this error is a very specific case. I get this error , When I leave mysql server unattended for more than approximately 6 hours (i.e. when there are no queries issued to MySQL for more than approximately 6 hours). I am pasting a top 'exception' level description below, and adding a pastebin link for a detailed stacktrace description. javax.persistence.PersistenceException: org.hibernate.exception.JDBCConnectionException: Cannot open connection - Caused by: org.hibernate.exception.JDBCConnectionException: Cannot open connection - Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure - The last packet successfully received from the server was 1,274,868,181,212 milliseconds ago. The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. - Caused by: com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.CommunicationsException: Communications link failure - The last packet successfully received from the server was 1,274,868,181,212 milliseconds ago. The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. - Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect the link to the pastebin for further investigation - http://pastebin.com/4KujAmgD What I understand from these exception statements is that MySQL is refusing to take in any connections after a period of idle/nil activity. I have been reading up a bit about this via google search, and came to know that one of the possible ways to overcome this is to set values for c3p0 properties as c3p0 comes bundled with Hibernate. Specifically, I read from here http://www.mchange.com/projects/c3p0/index.html that setting two properties idleConnectionTestPeriod and preferredTestQuery will solve this for me. But these values dont seem to have had an effect. Is this the correct approach to fixing this? If not, what is the right way to get over this?   • Memory Leak with jQuery UI inside UpdatePanel in ie7

    I have a fairly complex asp.net page based on UpdatePanels and jQuery UI. Unfortunately, when the panels update, the jQuery UI widgets leak memory like crazy in ie7, even if I manually 'destroy' them. Does anyone know a technique/patch to prevent these leaks? I've created a simple example page with a slider inside an UpdatePanel.     I had been told to deploy a *.war file within tomcat and this application should be working fine. But for an unknown reason all I get is: System Exception: javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: ValidatorResources not found in application scope under key "org.apache.commons.validator.VALIDATOR_RESOURCES" I know that this application has been developed with STRUTS and I can obtain the source. But as I am not a specialist in this field, I come to ask for some help. Could you tell me what file could generate this exception please?

    Why do browser vendors make their own css properties, even they know these will not pass the w3c validation? What is the purpose? Is for their own testing, or for web developers, or to demonstrate browser capabilities to the world and to the W3C organizations and to CSS development team of W3C? is it like a beta version of demonstration? if i use any browser specific for now can they remove that property's support from future versions.will i have to edit my css in future For example: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/CSS_Reference/Mozilla_Extensions
