• Java slick command line app?

  Hello Guys, I want to make a slick java commandline app which doesnt include all the nasty "java -jar some.jar arguments" instead, I would have it work just like program -option argument like any other commandline app. I use ubuntu linux, and it would be fine if it included a bit of .sh script or anything. I know I can just create a file with java -jar program.jar and do chmod +x file, afterwards I could run i with ./file, but then how can I pass the arguments to the program ?

• Enumerate printers on a Mac

  So, I'm familiar how to enumerate the printers using the Windows API, there are a ton of examples out there. What I gathered from here is that I can find the printers in the /Library/Printers/ directory. When I searched there, I found more folders which didn't really mean anything to me. To keep it simple, how do I query the mac to get a list of printers (local and networked) "attached" to the system? Or can anyone point me in the right direction?

• Git undo last commit.

  I merged the wrong way between two branches. I then ran the following: git reset --hard HEAD^ I am now back at the previous commit (which is where I want to be). Was that the correct thing to do? The bad commit is still in the repository, is that okay or should I do something else to remove it from the repository? I have not pushed or committed anything else yet.

• how to return some default value in oracle cursor when nothing is found

  I have following statement in one of the oracle SP: OPEN CUR_NUM FOR SELECT RTRIM(LTRIM(num)) as num FROM USER WHERE USER_ID = v_user_id; When the above does not return anything the SP result just has no column name in it. But I'd like the cursor to still have num column with some default value like NOTHING when no data is found. Is this doable ?

However, if I write a function with a non-void return type and do not return anything, the compiler issues a warning instead of an error: "Control reaches end of non-void function."   I often find this strange CDATA tag in XML files: <![CDATA[]]> I have observed that this CDATA tag always comes at the beginning, and then followed by some stuff. But sometimes it is used, sometimes it is not. I assume it is to mark that some "data" will be inserted after that. But what kind of "data"? Isn't anything I write in XML tags some sort of "data"?

  I did a little search on this but couldn't find anything useful. The point being that if String value is either "true" or "false" the return value should be true. In every other value it should be false.
