• High memory usage on the server - can't determine the process

The crash dump indicates a SIGSEGV has occurred in GCTaskThread It uses JNI, so there might be some source for memory corruption, although I can't be sure. How can I debug this problem - I though of doing -XX:OnError... but i am not sure what will help me debug this.   In JavaScript, why does an octal number string cast as a decimal number? I can cast a hex literal string using Number() or +, why not an octal? For instance: 1000 === +"1000" // -> true 0xFF === +"0xFF" // -> true 0100 === +"0100" // -> false - +"0100" gives 100, not 64 I know I can parse with parseInt("0100" [, 8]), but I'd like to know why casting doesn't work like it does with hex and dec numbers. Also, does anyone know why octal literals are dropped from ECMAScript 5th Edition in strict mode?

But when I am trying to import the dump its giving me error: * adding path : tags/Test/GH/13_Environment/Process/Capgemini EN Template - Business Case.doc ...svnadmin: File already exists: filesystem 'help\db', transaction '2-2', path 'tags/Test/GH/13_Environment/Process/Capgemini EN Template - Business Case.doc' I can see from the svn admin load o/p that the file has been added already. May be the dump created by SVN Importer is not correct. Can anyone guide me how to solve this ?

• emacs indentation in asm mode

  I am looking for the equivalent of c-indent-level and ruby-indent-level, for asm-mode. That is, I want to force the indentation to 4 spaces, and I want them to be replaced with blanks. What I've seen tells me it does not exist for asm-mode. Could someone please tell me this is wrong? I tried this also: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/69934/set-4-space-indent-in-emacs-in-text-mode , to no av. I have tried: (setq tab-width 4) (setq indent-line-function 'insert-tab) (setq asm-indent-level 4) This works however: (custom-set-variables '(tab-stop-list (quote (4 8 12 16 20 24 28 32 36 40 44 48 52 56 60 64 68 72 76 80 84 88 92 96 100 104 108 112 116 120)))) But I wonder if there is a way to define that for asm-mode only. • Click Once doesn't create StartMenu entry and Shortcut on Windows 7 x64

  I've application that I deploy to share with ClickOnce so other users can install it and use it on their own machines. It worked fine till i noticed that when i install this app on my own machine (Windows 7 x 64) it doesn't add StartMenu (even thou it installs correctly and I have it in Control Panel / Programs). I didn't had that problem when my development machine was Windows XP. Application also deploys fine on other Windows XP computers. Also during installation (when i rerun setup) even thou I already have Net Framework 3.5 it always wants to install one (it starts that and terminates few seconds later - probably installer sees that it's already there). I can run application straigit from share just a bit of pain to do it. Are there some special settings I should do? Or some patches? I have Visual Studio 2008 and system with all optional updates installed. Application is written in C# and uses NET 3.5.

  Hi, I am trying to execute a SSIS 2008 package on a 64-bit OS and import Excel 2003 files to SQL Server 2008. I have created an OLEDB Connection to the Excel file with a Connection String that retrieves the Excel file from a variable, inside the ForEach Loop Container. The Run64BitRunTime is set to false. I am not able to edit the SQL Command on the OLEDB Source in the Data Flow task. It returns an error : Error 2 Validation error. Load List Staged Table: Load List Staged Table: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_CANNOTACQUIRECONNECTIONFROMCONNECTIONMANAGER. The AcquireConnection method call to the connection manager "List OLEDB to Excel" failed with error code 0xC0202009. There may be error messages posted before this with more information on why the AcquireConnection method call failed. 0 0 Appreciate any help.

  I am trying to create a huge matrix in ff, and I know that ff is good for this sort of thing. But, there is a major problem. The dimensions of the matrix exceed .Machine$max_integer! I am running on a 64 bit machine, using 64bit R and 64bit ff. Is there any way to get around this problem? It's been suggested that R is using the MAXINT value from stdint.h.   I have some dylibs to load from python with ctypes. I can load libbass.dylib without problem, but I can't load the self-compiled libmp3lame.dylib. Here is the error I get. OSError: dlopen(libmp3lame.dylib, 6): no suitable image found. Did find: libmp3lame.dylib: mach-o, but wrong architecture Then, I inspect the file type of those libs. Here is the result of libbass.dylib: libbass.dylib: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures libbass.dylib (for architecture i386): Mach-O dynamically linked shared library i386 libbass.dylib (for architecture ppc): Mach-O dynamically linked shared library ppc And here is the self-compiled one: libmp3lame.dylib: Mach-O 64-bit dynamically linked shared library x86_64 I did compile the lame library with the install instructions: ./configure make make install I'm new to mac system, here comes the problem: how to build the libmp3lame.dylib so that it supports different architecture I want?   Hi, I have a c# application that I have moved to a 64bit machine. This application reads in an Excel file for some data input. I would like to build this project as 64bit. Is there any way to have my program read in this file? I find it hard to believe that there is no way to use and Excel file as input into a 64bit app. I have installed Office 2010 64 bit as well as the 2010 Office System Driver Beta: Data Connectivity Components with no luck.   We recently upgraded a database server from SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 64 bit. CPU utilization is oftentimes running at 100% on all four processors now (this never happended on the SQL 2005 server). When I run sp_lock I see a number of processes waiting on a resource called [ENCRYPTION_SCAN]. I am not using any SQL 2008 encryption features. Does anyone know why I would have tasks waiting on this resource? It appears that whenever I have four processes waiting on this resource, CPU hits 100% on all four processors.

• Skype Mac API - Use AppleScript or 5 year old API?

  I have a x86_64 app that I would like to have optionally read Skype status messages. However, the 5 year old skype mac framework is 32-bit, and if there is a way to have that compile within a 64-bit app, I haven't found it. My question is, basically, how should I go about doing this? I really only need to get and set the USERSTATUS AWAY/ONLINE string. Using AppleScript, a "Should Skype allow this" dialog pops up... every time. This is highly inefficient and downright irritating. Advice? I'm considering writing a 32-bit CLI wrapper, but that seems like overkill.

  I'm trying to open a JMX connection to java application running on a remote machine. The application JVM is configured with the following options: com.sun.management.jmxremote com.sun.management.jmxremote.port=1088 com.sun.management.jmxremote.authenticate=false com.sun.management.jmxremote.ssl=false I'm able to connect using localhost:1088 using jconsole or jvisualvm. But I'm not able to connect using xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1088 from a remote machine. There is no firewall between the servers, or on the OS. But to eliminate this possibility I telnet xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1088 and I think it connects, as the console screen turns blank. Both servers are Windows Server 2008 x64. Tried with 64-bit JVM and 32-bit, neither work.

• Negative logical shift

  In Java, why does -32 -1 = 1 ? It's not specific to just -32. It works for all negative numbers as long as they're not too big. I've found that x -1 = 1 x -2 = 3 x -3 = 7 x -4 = 15 given 0 x some large negative number Isn't -1 the same as << 1? But -32 << 1 = -64. I've read up on two's complements, but still don't understand the reasoning.

I would like to take an existing IP address out of a registration database, then check whether it's a known block-listed IP address by performing a lookup on it, then if it's a blacklisted, do an action on it (such as, delete entry from registration database). Most of the instructions I have seen assume you are trying to query the blocklist via a mail server, which I can't do. I tried querying via web browser by typing in queries such as "58.64.xx.xxx.dnsbl.sorbs.net" but that didn't work.

• Eclipse autocompletion problem

  Just installed Eclipse Helios (Win7 64) and I'm having a strange problem. I type syso-Ctrl-Space which is expected to complete to System.out.println("") but it doesn't work! I searched the web for about an hour now, I set Preferences Java Editor Content Assist to defaults, nothing. Everything else seems to work. Ideas? To be clear: the shortcut works, it completes everything except "syso" as seen so far, on syso (also tried sysout) it says "No Default Proposals". I couldn't find this kind of shortcuts in the Content Assist, but I set them to default anyway.

• SQLAlchemy - how to map against a read-only (or calculated) property

  I'm trying to figure out how to map against a simple read-only property and have that property fire when I save to the database. A contrived example should make this more clear. First, a simple table: meta = MetaData() foo_table = Table('foo', meta, Column('id', String(3), primary_key=True), Column('description', String(64), nullable=False), Column('calculated_value', Integer, nullable=False), ) What I want to do is set up a class with a read-only property that will insert into the calculated_value column for me when I call session.commit()... import datetime def Foo(object): def __init__(self, id, description): self.id = id self.description = description @property def calculated_value(self): self._calculated_value = datetime.datetime.now().second + 10 return self._calculated_value According to the sqlalchemy docs, I think I am supposed to map this like so: mapper(Foo, foo_table, properties = { 'calculated_value' : synonym('_calculated_value', map_column=True) }) The problem with this is that _calculated_value is None until you access the calculated_value property. It appears that SQLAlchemy is not calling the property on insertion into the database, so I'm getting a None value instead. What is the correct way to map this so that the result of the "calculated_value" property is inserted into the foo table's "calculated_value" column?

• Chipmunk warning still present with --release

  I'm using Python27 on Windows 7 64-bit. I downloaded the source for Chipmunk 6.2.x and compiled Pymunk with --release and -c ming32. Almost zero problems. Lots of path not found cause I'm bad. All prints seem to have disappeared but I get spammed with EPA iteration warnings. I've seen a couple discussions but no solutions. Possible chipmunk betas to fix the float errors causing the double truths causing the warning. I picked the latest stable version I think. My program is seriously bogged down with all the prints. class NullDevice(): def write(self, s): pass sys.stdout=NullDevice() Does not disable the C prints .< Any help?
