    I have a Web Project (VS 2008) that references a bunch of DLLs. The DLLs are built separately, so the project references binaries and not DLL projects. Some of the DLLs have their own app.config, which I want to be copied autmatically to the web project's output directory. Is there any suitable generic way to achieve this?

  • Generation of .tlb Files in Windows 7 Pro 32-bit

    I have a C++ DLL that imports a .tlb file generated in a C# project. The C++ DLL is a wrapper DLL containing functions that call the corresponding C# functions. When I call the C++ functions on the computer that I built the projects, all works well. But when I copy the DLL's and generated tlb's to another computer with the same exact version of Windows and installed programs andI call the C++ functions, it breaks with a COM error. However, after recompiling the projects on the new computer, everything works again. I already checked the "Work on All Computers" for both projects but this keeps happening. What else do I need to do for the DLL's to work on all computers?

  • Web development - relative URLs without duplicating files

    I have a site with index.php in the root folder, images in /img , and overview.php in /content . I have a sidebar.php file that is included in both index.php and overview.php . How should I refer to /img/image.gif if I include a link in each file? The location of image.gif changes relative to the location of the file that references it. Using /img/image.gif in sidebar.php will work in index.php, but it fails for the file located at /content/overview.php. The only solution that I can see is to either include a seperate sidebar.php in each subdirectory, or include an /img directory in every sub-directory. The best suggestion that I can find is to use the <base html tag as suggested here: Change relative link paths for included content in PHP However, in the same link, SamGoody suggests that the <base tag "is no longer properly supported in Internet Explorer, since version 7." I'd like some insight on the matter before committing to a course of action. Thanks.   • MATLAB - Delete elements of binary files without loading entire file

    This may be a stupid question, but Google and MATLAB documentation have failed me. I have a rather large binary file (10 GB) that I need to open and delete the last forty million bytes or so. Is there a way to do this without reading the entire file to memory in chunks and printing it out to a new file? It took 6 hours to generate the file, so I'm cringing at the thought of re-reading the whole thing. EDIT: The file is 14,440,000,000 bytes in size. I need to chop it to 14,400,000,000.

    I've been trying to compare the output of a program to known correct output by using a bash script without piping the output of the program to a file and then using diff on the output file and a correct output file. I've tried setting the variables to the output and correct output and I believe it's been successful but I can't get the string comparison to work correctly. I may be wrong about the variable setting so it could be that.     Hello, We have to learn VB.NET for the semester, my experience lies mainly with C# - not that this should make a difference to this particular problem. I've used just about the most simple way to save a file using the .NET framework, but Windows 7 won't let me save the file anywhere (or anywhere that I have found yet). Here is the code I am using to save a text file. Dim dialog As FolderBrowserDialog = New FolderBrowserDialog() Dim saveLocation As String = dialog.SelectedPath ... Build up output string ... Try ' Try to write the file. My.Computer.FileSystem.WriteAllText(saveLocation, output, False) Catch PermissionEx As UnauthorizedAccessException ' We do not have permissions to save in this folder. I've tried running the .exe file as administrator, and the IDE as administrator. Is this just Windows 7 being overprotective? And if so, what can I do to solve this problem?     Hello, the title says it all. I have seen some similar questions on SO like this or this, but either i have overlooked something or my requirement is different, neither works. My situation is following: i have a Masterpage one of its contentpage is called MasterData.aspx MasterData has an asp.net ajax tabcontainer control with one usercontrol in every tabpanel these usercontrols(f.e. MD_Customer.ascx)hold the main content(like a normal page) they all have GridViews in it and i want to provide an Excel-Export-Button What i've tried is is to use an iframe like here. But the function that adds the iframe to the document gets never called and therefore i never see the save-as-dialog. Maybe this is caused by using a MasterPage. Does somebody has an idea on how to provide a button in an UpdatePanel that causes an async postback, so that i can generate a CSV dynamically in codebehind and write it to the response?   • Uploading files to varbinary(max) in SQL Server -- works on one server, not the other

    I have some code that allows users to upload file attachments into a varbinary(max) column in SQL Server from their web browser. It has been working perfectly fine for almost two years, but all of a sudden it stopped working. And it stopped working on only the production database server -- it still works fine on the development server. I can only conclude that the code is fine and there is something up with the instance of SQL Server itself. But I have no idea how to isolate the problem. When I open Activity Monitor right after the timeout to see what's going it, it says the last command is (@Data binary(1024),@ATTACHMENT_ID decimal(4,0))update ATTACHMENT set ATTACHMENT_DATA.WRITE(@Data, NULL, NULL) where ATTACHMENT_ID = @ATTACHMENT_ID which I would expect but it also says it has a status of "Suspended" and a wait type of "PAGEIOLATCH_SH". I looked this up and it seems to be a bad thing but I can't find anything specific to my stuation. Ideas?

Inside the HTML that calls this JavaScript code I find myself in need of knowing if a certain function from helpers.js has been called. I have attempted to create a global variable by defining: var myFunctionTag = true; In global scope both in my HTML code and in helpers.js.     I am configuring Rails with MongoDB, and find a strange problem when paring config/mongo.yml file. config/mongo.yml is generated by executing script/rails generate mongo_mapper:config, and it looks like following: defaults: &defaults host: 127.0.0.1 port: 27017 development: <<: *defaults database: tc_web_development test: <<: *defaults database: tc_web_test From the config file we can see the objects development and test should both have a database field. But when it is parsed and loaded in config/initializers/mongo.db, config = YAML::load(File.read(Rails.root.join('config/mongo.yml'))) puts config.inspect MongoMapper.setup(config, Rails.env) the strange thing comes: the output of puts config.inspect is {"defaults"=>{"host"=>"127.0.0.1", "port"=>27017}, "development"=>{"host"=>"127.0.0.1", "port"=>27017}, "test"=>{"host"=>"127.0.0.1", "port"=>27017}} which does not contain database attribute. But when I execute the same statements in a plain ruby console, instead of using rails console, mongo.yml is parsed in a right way. {"defaults"=>{"host"=>"127.0.0.1", "port"=>27017}, "development"=>{"host"=>"127.0.0.1", "port"=>27017, "database"=>"tc_web_development"}, "test"=>{"host"=>"127.0.0.1", "port"=>27017, "database"=>"tc_web_test"}} I am wondering what may be the cause of this problem.   • FDF-files not opening properly

    We have created a servlet that provides a FDF file for our clients. The FDF file is created by iText and the output looks fine. Whenever we open the FDF either from the Servlet, or from a local file, AcrobatReader starts, asks if the PDF should be downloaded, we allow that and then we see the PDF - without the values we filled in the form. One thing that seems strange is, that regardless of the Browser, we get prompted about what to do with the PDF file that Adobe has tried to load. Anything else that clicking "open" will result in a empty Acrobat viewer window. I suspect that Acrobat forgets what to do with the PDF - but I have run out of ideas. Anyone got an idea where to look further?
