  • How to presist the user authentication in SL3 + RIA

    I am developing SL3 + RIA services with custom authentication. I followed the example in http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/RiaServices/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2661 to implement custom authentication. Based on the implementation, you first do login request from client to service. This request is async process. Since login is async, the control will go back to GUI which then starts to do data bind in SL controls using RIA services, the services happens to requires the authentication to be successful (by adding [RequireAuthentication] attribute). The trouble is, since you requested login might not have completed before the data binding starts t this stage the authentication is false because of that data binding will fail. I would like to know if you require your web services to have 'RequireAuthentication' how would you wait for authentication to complete at the server side or client side. Appriciate the help.     I'm looking for ideas / open source frameworks to use for creating individual Analytics for user profiles and all the other profile types. Users will have different custom metrics, businesses willl have seperate metrics, the admin section will have seperate, Advertises will have seperate, etc. So basically the goal is to have 1 framework in place for all Analytics, which will be custom user to user and even use that for the system analytic needs also. It will include data analytics as there will be user ratings/reviews to perfomr data mining on for businesses, USers will have basic reporting on their needs (like friend demographics, filter by different preferences, etc). System is being developed in cakePhp. Thanks.

  • WiX - How do I prevent ComPlusAssembly being unregistered during uninstall?

    As part of my Installer, I am adding files to an existing COM+ package. I have defined a ComPlusApplication underneath my Product element, which has the name set to a property - I then have a custom action which looks up that property - all good so far. When the installer adds the files, within the same component I have added a ComPlusAssembly which adds the assembly to the ComPlusApplication I defined above - this is also working correctly. When uninstalled however, I am receiving an error related to being unable to find the COM+ application, this is because I am not running my custom action to look up the name of the COM+ package. Basically I do not want to remove my files or unregister the component package as part of the uninstallation process - How do I achieve this? I am using WiX 3.0 with VS2008. Thanks

  • Grouped UITableView's cell separator missing when setting backgroundView with an image

    I have a grouped UITableView with a custom UITableViewCell class and I am adding a custom background image to each cell. However, when I do this, the cell's separator is not visible. If simply switch the table style to Plain instead of Grouped, the separator is showing up. I need the grouped table - how do I make the separator show up?     Hi all! WPF is great because there are many things to achieve own goals. By example, for what I understand, adorners can add some controls to a UI element, but I think that the same behavior can be achieved through a custom control that contains the additional element. So, my question is: when should I prefer adorners to a more complex (but I think, more flexible) custom control? Please consider that I'm extensively using MVVM pattern and I would like to bind commands to the additional element.   • WPF Binding not updating when binded object is updated

    I'm trying to bind to a custom control like so: <my:GanttChartTaskListView Name="ganttChartTaskListView1" ItemsSource="{Binding Source={x:Static local:TaskCollection.taskList}}" /> In my WPF Window constructor I add add an item to my taskList, when it loads I can see that item in my custom control, however, when I subsequently add items it does not update. I tried setting Mode=TwoWay, however, then it says the "Path" is required and I'm not familiar with binding like that (this is new to me). Here is my TaskCollection class: namespace ProjectManager { public static class TaskCollection { private static List<TaskItem> _taskList = new List<TaskItem>(); public static List<TaskItem> taskList { get {return _taskList; } set { _taskList = value; } } } } Any ideas? Is there a better / easier way to do this?

    I want to embed a search box to allow my website users to search images using google images search (not only images in my website, but general images search). However, I don't want an Iframe of something similar, but to present a custom list of the images and links in the format I chose. Ideally, I could get the links to the thumbnails to the in JSON. From what I have found so far, it seems that google no longer supports it's API: https://developers.google.com/image-search/ I am familiar with google custom search, but as far as I know, I can't control exactly how it will be presented. What MIME type will I need to associate with it? Also I want to add a group address field which will have a list of group addresses in it (name@domain, name@domain,...). Wich MIME type will I have to associate with this type of field. I also want to add custom fields to the Call History like a session ID and SIP address(name@domain) field. How can I customize the call history? It'll be great if someone can give me an example.

    I am trying to place two images of the same size side-by-side. If I use a "table" then I am able to display both images side-by-side. But in my CSS Stylesheet I am using a custom format for the table and this shows on the page containing the images too. But I want to just display both images without any custom background or border etc. I tried using "div", "span", "ul" & "li" etc. but failed in each case. How can I place two images (of same size) in a single line, without using a "table"? If I have to use "table" for the same, then how can I use two (or more) different formatting for my tables using CSS? Thank you. Lalit Kumar Barik

  • Event is causing an error, but I can't catch the exception

    A developer has created a custom control in ASP.NET using VB.NET. The custom control uses a repeater. In certain scenarios, the rpt_ItemDataBound event is encountering a data error. My goal is rather than having the user see the yellow screen of death, give the user a friendlier error explaining exactly what the data error is. I figured I would be able to use a Try/Catch block as shown below throw the exception, however, it appears that the event has nowhere to be thrown to and stops executing at the "End Try" line. Protected Sub rpt_ItemDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.RepeaterItemEventArgs) Handles rpt1.ItemDataBound, rpt2.ItemDataBound Try ProcessBadData... Catch ex As Exception Throw ex End Try End Sub In VB.NET, I can find where the repeater's DataSource is being set, however, I can not find a DataBind event. Any ideas how I can capture the exception in this ASCX control so I can report it to the user?

  • jQuery slideToggle - when div is toggled it pushes content out of viewable area (IE)

    This is an annoying ocurrance in IE when I use the jQuery slideToggle effect. Without the div being open, page looks normal. The minute I toggle the div open, it extends past the current content, overtop of the footer, and out of the viewable browser area (Even after scrolling all the way down). This feature seems to work just fine in firefox. Do I need an additional hack or CSS to make it work in IE8?

The mybb_userfields is the table that contain custom profile field data that they are able to customize & change in their profile. Now, all I want to do is display all users in rows with the custom profile field data that they provided in their profile(which is in the mybb_userfields table) How can I display these fields correctly together? For instance, p0gz is a male,lives in AZ,he owns a 360,does not know his bandwidth & Flip Side Phoenix is his team. How can it just be like "p0gz-male-az-360-dont know-flipside phoenix" in a row~???
