  so at home we had the idea of instead of buying 3 different pc's we would somehow create a "server" for the computers where a cable would come to our screens and keyboard and mouses, so the actual pc was somewhere else in the house with all the others. Does such a thing exist? And is it possible to have such a thing for high performance workflow? (Compiling, High-End Games, just as if it was a separate pc )

• Can I access mac iTunes library from an iPad?

  Can I access my iMac based iTunes library from my iPad over my home wifi? I know I can sync them up but the library is too big. Edit; just to clear(er), the movies, podcasts etc which are stored on the iMac, I want to watch them on my iPad without syncing. I know I can create playlist to sync a subset of my library, but that is not what I want. What I'm thinking about is using my iPad as a kind of portable apple TV.

• VNC connection through machine with only SSH port open

  I would like to make a VNC connection from home to a Windows machine at work. The Windows machine is not accessible from the outside, but there is a Linux box that does have port 22 open, so it would seem that this can be done. I suspect it's just a command that "forwards" connections to port 22 on the Linux machine to the Windows machine? Just can't find an example that does exactly this though Thanks in advance!

• Installing ArchLinux into Ubuntu 12.04 root

  Is it possible to install 2 linux distros into 1 root, so they share same uuid and guid, configs and packages + same user /home folder ? For example: I have Ubuntu and Windows 7 already in dual boot on my laptop. Could I install Arch's base, base-devel and kernel, so it won't conflict with Ubuntu on the same root folder? P.S I don't feel like repartitioning my drive again, 'cause there's very complicated hierarchy, which occupies the entire disk. =)

I would like to implement a linux solution but I think I can't get hands on without understanding - very superficially - if I can achieve such result. Unfortunately, I get the ProPresenter decks from the minister and worship leader midway through the week and have no way to read them at home on my PC.   I have vsftpd installed on ubuntu. I added a new created a new user and set the users home path to /var/www so I can ftp with that user directly to that location. And that all works, I can now FTP with the user I created directly to that location. However I whenever I ftp, I have no permissions to change anything. How can I change that? Thanks!!

  I have recently noticed wmpnetwk.exe using a more than usual amount of processor cycles. I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium on a Netbook. I'm guessing it's a feature of Windows Media player that recently got turned on, possibly because of a Windows update or accidental key combination. I don't usually use Media player that often.   I recently uninstalled an older version of WAMP then installed the latest version. The link to the localhost displays the WAMPSERVER home page successfully. However, the http://localhost/phpmyadmin/ returns only a blank browser - it displays nothing. localhost/sqlitemanager/ returns a Forbidden You don't have permission to access /sqlitemanager/ on this server. This seems to be a 403 forbidden error I've looked everywhere for an answer to this. Help please
