• ajax Post data missing with tinyMCE on Firefox

  I have a problem with my form when I try to submit with ajax. I am using Malsup Form plugin for Jquery but also using tinyMCE editor. When I submit the form and check the $_POST array, there is no data from the textarea. I have tried to use the triggerSave() function but to no avail.   Hi I want to specify one <CategoryLabel> in <MTEntryCategories> in archive template. • How to suppress javascript errors for sites I'm not developing?

  I like to keep javascript debugging enabled in my browser so when I'm developing my own code I can instantly see when I've made an error. Of course this means I see errors on apple.com, microsoft.com, stackoverflow.com, cnn.com, facebook.com. Its quite fun sometimes to see just how much awful code there is out there being run by major sites but sometimes it gets really annoyed. I've wondered for YEARS how to change this but never really got around to it. Its particularly annoying today and I'd really like to know of any solutions. The only solution I have is : use a different browser for everyday browsing. I'm hopin theres some quick and easy plugin someone can direct me to where I can toggle it on and off based upon the domain i'm on. Edit: I generally use IE7 for everyday browsing

• Placing error message for a checkbox array

  Hello all. I am using the Validation Plugin for jQuery and it works wonders. Except when I have a group of checkboxes...the error messages will display right after the first checkbox...like so: <tbody> <c:forEach items="${list}" var="item"> <tr> <td align="center"> <input type="checkbox" name="selectItems" value="<c:out value="${item.numberPlate}"/>" /> </td> <!--some other columns--> </tr> </c:forEach> </tbody> I found that I can use a wrapper for these checkboxes ,then place the error message there, but I have no idea how to do it since I'm creating the rows dynamically. • How can I implement lazy loading on a page with 500+ images?

  I basically have a booking engine unit results page which must show 40 units and per each unit there's 1 large image of the first thumbnail and an X number of accompanying thumbnail images. I've been using the jquery lazy load plugin, but it's not thorough enough ( I'm invoking it on DOM Ready ), plus it doesn't really work in IE ( 50% of the clients use IE so it's a big issue ). What I think I really need to do is not really spit out the image but a fake element such as a span, and possibly modify my code such that if the user views the span, render it into an image element. <span src="/images/foo.gif"> The booking engine relies on JS so I think I might be forced to just rely on ajaxifying all the thumbnails and have event handlers on window scroll, etc in order for the page to be "usable" and load at an average time ( 2-3 seconds instead of 5-30s on high speed DSL/Cable ). I'd appreciate any examples or ideas.

• Form is creating already loaded attributes in addition to new attributes, how do I ignore the first?

  In my application you: Have an admin user that signs on and that user has a role (separate model), then I use the declarative_authorization plugin to give access to certain areas. That admin user can also register new users in the system, when they do this (using Authlogic) they fill out a nested form that includes that new users' role. So what is happening is the role of the admin user is being loaded by the declarative_authorization and then the nested form using the has_many_nested_attributes is loading that existing role as well as the new role for the new user (users can have many roles). Is there some way I can tell the new User being created to ignore the role assigned to the current_user and only create the role in the form for the new user? I have looked through a lot of different things, but it seems to get more complicated that these are nested attributes. Thanks in advance.

I suppose all the module jquery files get preloaded before the one im calling inside the template. it enters the function() in the jsloader.js instead of the one in my jquery file.   Hi, I'm writing a Maven plugin that merges CSS files together. So all the CSS files that match /foo/bar/*.css might get merged to /foo/merged.css. A concern is that in a file such as /foo/bar/baz.css there might be a property such as: background: url("images/pic.jpg") So when the file is merged into /foo/merged.css this will need to be changed to background: url("bar/images/pic.jpg") The recalculated URL obviously depends on 3 factors: original URL original CSS file location merged CSS file location Assuming that the original and merged CSS files are both on the same filesystem, is there a general formula (or Java library) that can be used to calculate the new url given these 3 inputs? I know if the form's action was "/stems.json" this would work, but is there a parameter I can put into the form_for call to ask it to return JSON? I tried doing <% form_for @stem, :html => {:multipart => true, :action => '/stems.json'} do |f| %> but this didn't appear to work.

  I have jCarousel Lite going in Drupal with images of various sizes/aspect ratios. I'm not having much luck trying to center the images vertically and horizontally (i.e. evenly-spaced). The plugin requires that the images be in a <ul><li><img ... /></li></ul>. I've tried display:inline-block, marginTop:50% among other things, most of which just screw up the carousel. • How to extend the Turbogears 2.1 login functionality

  I'm using Turbogears 2.1 and repoze.who/what and am having trouble figuring out how to extend the basic authentication functionality. I am essentially attempting to require users to activate their account via an emailed link before they can login. If they try to login without activating their account, I want to display an appropriate error message. The default Turbogears functionality simply displays one message for all errors. I created my own authentication plugin which works fine. It won't allow users to login if they have not activated their account. However, the problem comes when I try to create the form and display custom error messages. How can I go about doing this? Thanks

  Our team builds a .NET 3.5 WinForms based application that we'd like to migrate to the latest .NET version (4.5). Our application uses many "external" components (can be thought of as plugins) that are also currently .NET 3.5 based. I'd like to know what runtime/core libraries are used in case we convert ONLY THE APPLICATION to compile using .NET 4.5? Should this scenario properly work? (loading .NET 3.5 assemblies in a 4.5 process)? * The plugin assemblies are loaded via reflection. How does the CLR runtime handle such a scenario? is this a safe practice?

  Today I upgraded to Android SDK 2.3 and I also upgraded the Eclipse Plugin Androi Developer Tools 8.0 (from 0.9.9). I also upgraded my Java Development Kit to 1.6_22. Now in Eclipse I get many errors in all my Android projects. The error messages are like: The type java.lang.Object cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files. • jQuery UI .widgets resetting scroll positions of elements contained within

  I am making heavy use of jQuery UI with my latest project. Unfortunately I've hit a major wall due to some really whacky behavior exhibited by the jQuery UI widgets when they contain elements with scrollbars for overflow. Check out this demo Scroll down in one of the .scroll-container elements Click an accordion header Click on old header - note the element was auto-scrolled to the top. Is there anyway to prevent this from happening? It's screwing with a major plugin of mine that utilizes jQuery scrolling. I'm flat-out lost as to what to do here! Perhaps this is a bug worth mentioning in the jQuery UI dev forums... EDIT I am using Chrome - 8.0.552.231 and OSX 10.6.5

• Using netbeans as IDE for Python

  I am about to embark on learning Python (largely for the purposes of using it as scripting glue between my applications). I use Netbeans (6.8) for both my C++ and PHP development work. Ideally, I would like to use the same IDE for Python - and there is a Python plugin for Netbeans (admittedly, its still in Beta). Does anyone have any experience using Python with Netbeans? Shall I use Netbeans (for the reasons stated above - i.e. already familiar environment), or is there a [GOOD] reason why I should use a different IDE?

  I was wondering if it's possible to access the ASP.NET Configuration Tool once a site is live. To be able to create and edit users and roles is obviously very important, and from what I've been reading, once a site is deployed, the Configuration Tool is no longer accessible. If this is the case, HOW do I add users, etc.? By the way, I found a User Management plugin which brings a lot of the Configuration Tool's capabilities to the front end of a User Management section of the deployed website, but it DOES NOT offer the capability to add a new user. • Forced naming of parameters in python

  In python you may have a function definition: def info(object, spacing=10, collapse=1) which could be called in any of the following ways: info(odbchelper) info(odbchelper, 12) info(odbchelper, collapse=0) info(spacing=15, object=odbchelper) thanks to python's allowing of any-order arguments, so long as they're named. The problem we're having is as some of our larger functions grow, people might be adding parameters between spacing and collapse, meaning that the wrong values may be going to parameters that aren't named. In addition sometimes it's not always clear as to what needs to go in. We're after a way to force people to name certain parameters - not just a coding standard, but ideally a flag or pydev plugin? so that in the above 4 examples, only the last would pass the check as all the parameters are named. Odds are we'll only turn it on for certain functions, but any suggestions as to how to implement this - or if it's even possible would be appreciated.
