  • AutoCompleteExtender positioning menu incorrectly when scrolled

    We have an AutoCompleteExtender linked to a TextBox. Both controls are placed inside an UpdatePanel, and the UpdatePanel is displayed as a pop-up dialog using a Javascript library (Ext.BasicDialog). The pop-up is a div on the page, not a separate window. The problem is that when the user scrolls inside the pop-up, the AutoCompleteExtender shows its menu in the wrong place. It looks like it is taking the visible distance from the top of the popup and positioning the menu from the top of the inner html of the popup (which is not visible) We are using Version 1.0.20229.20821 of the AjaxControlToolkit, and we are targetting ASP.NET Framework vewrsion 2.0.   • (resolved) empty response body in ajax (or 206 Partial Content)

    Hi guys, I'm feeling completely stupid because I've spent two hours solving task which should be very simple and which I solved many times before. But now I'm not even sure in which direction to dig. I fail to fetch static content using ajax from local servers (Apache and Mongrel). I get responses 200 and 206 (depending on the server), empty response text (although Content-Length header is always correct), firebug shows request in red. Javascript is very generic, I'm getting same results even here: http://www.w3schools.com/ajax/tryit.asp?filename=tryajax_first (just change document location to 'http://localhost:3000/whatever') So, it's probably not the cause. Well, now I'm out of ideas. I can also post http headers, if it'll help. Thanks!   • Getting Wikipedia infoboxes in a format that Ruby can understand

    I am trying to get the data from Wikipedia's infoboxes into a hash or something so that I can use it in my Ruby on Rails program. Specifically I'm interested in the Infobox company and Infobox person. The example I have been using is "Ford Motor Company". I want to get the company info for that and the person info for the people linked to in Ford's company box. I've tried figuring out how to do this from the Wikipedia API or DBPedia but I haven't had much luck. I know wikipedia can return some things as json which I could parse with ruby but I haven't been able to figure out how to get the infobox. In the case of DBPedia I am kind of lost on how to even query it to get the info for Ford Motor Company.

Due to security requirements, neither server is supposed to have network shares set up or extraneous software installed. What's available: Administrator access to both machines (including remote desktop access if that helps). A third machine with: Visual Studio 2010 Cygwin Bonus extras The script that does the rest of the work (apart from moving the files) is currently written in F#, but any .net/command line based solution would be fine.

  • Using NHibernate to insert/update using a SQL server-side DEFAULT value

    Several of our database tables contain LastModifiedDate columns. We would like these to stay synchronized based on a single time-source. Our best time-source, in this case, is the SQL Server itself since there is only one database server but multiple application servers which could potentially be off sync. I would like to be able to use NHibernate, but have it use either GETUTCDATE() or DEFAULT for the column value when updating or inserting rows on these tables. Thoughts?

    I have a query of the form SELECT uid1,uid2 FROM friend WHERE uid1 IN (SELECT uid2 FROM friend WHERE uid1='.$user_id.') and uid2 IN (SELECT uid2 FROM friend WHERE uid1='.$user_id.') The problem now is that the nested query SELECT uid2 FROM friend WHERE uid1='.$user_id.' returns a very large number of ids(approx. 5000). The table structure of the friend table is uid1(int), uid2(int). This table is used to determine whether two users are linked together as friends. Any workaround? Can I write the query in a different way? Or is there some other way to solve this issue. I'm sure I am not the first person to face such a problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Autoconf macros for Apache and conf.d install process?

    I have a package that is using the autotools to build and install. Part of the package is a website that can be run on the local machine. So in the package there is a .conf file that is meant to be either copied or linked to the /etc/apache2/conf.d directory. What's the standard way that packages would do this? If possible, I'd like for the user not to have an extra step to make the website work. I'd like to have them install the package and then be able to browse to http://localhost/newpackage to get up and running. Also, is there a way that autoconf knows about the apache install or a standard way through then environment some how? If someone could point me in the right direction that would be great. Steve

    Hi Ok dealing with Partial Loops I want to do several things Perhaps pass in extra variables - seen it done like this echo $this-partialLoop('Loop.phtml', array('data' = $data, 'var1' = foo)); But this does not seem to work - I can not extra the data using $this-var $this-data-var or $data-var not sure how to access the data in the loop Sutotals for columns - need a way of resetting variables or passing in a default value - linked to the above I suppose ie $subtotal += rowTotal; In the view that calls the partial I would like to get access to the subtotal values generated so I can display these in another table below. Any help appreciated the docs on partialLoop seems incomplete. Ian

  • Cross-database transactions from one SP

    I need to update multiple databases with a few simple SQL statement. The databases are configurared in SQL using 'Linked Servers', and the SQL versions are mixed (SQL 2008, SQL 2005, and SQL 2000). I intend to write a stored procedure in one of the databases, but I would like to do so using a transaction to make sure that each database gets updated consistently. Which of the following is the most accurate: Will a single BEGIN/COMMIT TRANSACTION work to guarantee that all statements across all databases are successful? Will I need multiple BEGIN TRANSACTIONS for each individual set of commands on a database? Are transactions even supported when updating remote databases? I would need to execute a remote SP with embedded transaction support. Note that I don't care about any kind of cross-database referential integrity; I'm just trying to update multiple databases at the same time from a single stored procedure if possible. Any other suggestions are welcome as well. Thanks!

    Hi I've been trying to create a GUI using netbeans, that includes a dialog similar to Netbean's own "property dialog" that appears when designing. ie. a dialog that contains a table that can be expanded by tree nodes. Something like the dialog on this page, http://platform.netbeans.org/tutorials/nbm-property-editors.html As far as I can understand, the page I linked to describes a custom editor I can set up for use within netbeans while designing - I'm just looking for a way to doing something similar for my actual application I'm writing. Is there an easy way to do this?     Hello, I have an array set inside a velocity template that contains some paths. The idea is to put a few "default" .js/.css files that 90% of the pages will use in this array. However, the other pages will still have to be able to add/delete values from this array, in case there are no linked files at all, or I need to add some.     Hi, I was trying to understand the difference between early and late binding, and in the process realized that the concept of binding is nebulous to me. I think I understand that it relates to the way data-as-a-word-of-memory is linked to type-as-a-set-of-language-features but I am not sure those are the right concepts. Also, how does understanding this deeply help people become better programmers? Please note: This question is not "what is late v. early binding" or "what are the trade-offs between the 2".   • Getting a KeyError in DB backend of django-digest

    I have just started to integrate django_digest into my app. As a start I have added the @httpdigest decorator to one of my views. If I try to connect to it I get a KeyError exception thrown in django_digest/backend/db.py . Depending on which db I configure I get a different KeyError in a different location. I am using Django 1.2.1, with MySql (also tested with sqlite). I am using the default values for all the settings options. As far as I can see I have followed all instructions but am struggling all day with this. I am using the repository versions of django-digest and python-digest. Any steer would be greatly appreciated.     So I know that there is a very similar question to this all over the web as well as stack overflow: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2539961/error-access-denied-for-user-mysql-server but my question I think is different. So I have set up a linked server and it works...I have the correct permissions set up for my IP's that I am using. However the problem arises when our user "webuser@correctIP" tries to access it. Therefore, any user using window authentication is allowed to access it and works great...but any that are not using windows authentication are blocked. However, I have tried all the common solutions such as setting up a strict password, changing security settings in Microsoft SQL Server etc. Nothing is working. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. FYI: I am using this from Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - mysql (through myphpadmin)

    I installed Python Mock module using PIP. When I try to import mock running under 'dev_appserver', GAE says that it can't find module 'mock'. import mock works perfectly in Python interpreter. I understand that dev_appserver behaves absolutely correctly because I can't install modules with PIP on GAE servers. My question is how technically dev_appserver filters list of modules that can be loaded?

    I was trying to run a project in my local machine. I tried to load this jnilib file which I got from a running instance of this project on my Mac 10.6.2, System.load(lib.getAbsolutePath()); then I got this exception thrown: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError, mach-o but wrong architecture I have check the jnilib with file command: libScreenMatchProxy.jnilib: Mach-O dynamically linked shared library i386 I guess this is because the jnilib file is compiled in 32bit but the Java comes with Mac10.6 is 64bit. So I go to Java Preference and set Java to use 32bit first. But it didn't work. As mentioned above, this jnilib file is copied from a running instance of the project on my Mac, so it should work. I don't understand why it working in the installed application but not in my Eclipse.

    I have a form (Quote) with an auto-number ID, on the form at the moment are two subforms that show different items (sub 1 shows partition modules sub 2 shows partition abutments) both forms use the same parts tables to build them. Both forms are linked to the quote form using the ID. All works well until the forms is refreshed or re-loaded, subform 1 shows the module names and quantities and blank spaces for the abutment names but shows the quantiews for the abutments, the reverse of this is shown in the abutments subform 2. When the lists for the variuos types and the detailed parts lists are printed they are correct. This seems to be only a visual problem. All based on Access 2003.
