  Hi I need to assign a formatted date to a column in a data flow. I have added a Derived Column editor and entered the following expression: "BBD" + SUBSTRING((DT_WSTR,4)DATEADD("Day",30,GETDATE()),1,4) + SUBSTRING((DT_WSTR,2)DATEADD("Day",30,GETDATE()),6,2) + SUBSTRING((DT_WSTR,2)DATEADD("Day",30,GETDATE()),9,2) The problem is that the "Derived Column Transformation Editor" automatically assigns a Data Type of "Unicode string[DT_WSTR]" and a length of "7". Howver, the length of a string is 11, therefore the following exception is thrown each time: [Best Before Date [112]] Error: The "component "Best Before Date" (112)" failed because truncation occurred, and the truncation row disposition on "output column "Comments" (132)" specifies failure on truncation. A truncation error occurred on the specified object of the specified component. Does anyone know why the edit is insisting on a length of 7? I don't seem to be able to change this. Many thanks, Rob.

• Spark View Engine: How to set default master page name?

  I use Spark View Engine with nested master pages. I have Application.spark which defines the basic layout of the website. Then there are several other masters which themselves use Application.spark as master page (Default.spark, SinlgeColumn.spark, Gallery.spark, ...) If no master page is specified in a view file, then automatically Application.spark is choosen by the Spark View Engine. Since almost all my pages use "Default.spark" as master, is there a way to configure this globally? The other possibilities would be: Set the master in each spark file individually <use master="Default" />. But that's really annoying. Rename my master files (Default.spark <- Application.spark) but that really doesn't make any sense in naming.

• What is ltmain.sh, and why does automake say it is missing? What is a good auto (make/conf/etc) gene

  I just want to develop a C app in linux with the auto(make/conf/...) stuff automatically generated. I tried generating it with ede and anjuta, but it doesn't seem to generate Makefile.am. So, I tried running automake, and it says "ltmain.sh" isn't found. Is there some easy to generate the basic build files for linux C/C++ apps. What is the standard practice? Do most people write these files themselves?

• Latex: Extracting the sty files of all the used packages

  Hi. So after writhing a large .tex file and using many packages I want to archive everything. Not just the .tex .jpg files but also the .sty files. This is because sometimes some options in the sty files are changed, and then I can't compile the file. The "problem" is that in using Ubuntu, I already installed all the packages in my system. I don't want to have to copy the manually. Is there a program that can do this automatically. Tnx.

• Programming an Event listener for files in a directory on Linux

  On Ubuntu linux, when you watch a flash video, it gets saved temporarily in the /tmp as flv files while the video buffers. I use vlc to directly play these files. Currently, I have scripted a shortcut that directly scans and opens the latest file in /tmp with vlc, when clicked. But, I want to program a Java application that will continually monitor this /tmp directory for any new flv files, and open it in vlc automatically. I know I can use Runtime.exec() to open the VLC application with the flv files. But, I DO NOT want to run a while(true) loop (with sleep) to scan for files. How can I make use of Event Handling (Java or any other language) on Linux to complete this task?

• Session Variable Not Being Saved When Using Wizard Control ASP.NET

  I have a wizard control. When someone clicks a button within the wizard control I automatically advance to the next step (rather than forcing them to click next). However, this seems to cause the session state variable not to be saved. I've done some research and noticed that Response.Redirect does hard redirects that truncate page execution - and that you can add a false parameter to prevent this...what I'm wondering is if the wizard control is doing the same thing and if so, if I can add a parameter to this as well?   I need to quit firefox and restart it in order for the applet to be refreshed... its anoying since i'm still programming it an the class files changes... am i missing some codes which makes it unable to refresh the applet and still take the one from the cache??? So I have a .jar applet in my website, a simulation game that spawns army whenever user clicks on the screen... however whenever I refresh the page, the previous army are still there on the screen.. I want it to be refreshed (as if we're just starting to run the application the first time). I already tried pressing CTRL+f5 but the trick doesn't seem to work I'd basically like to do it automatically using scripts or something, so that it won't require user to manually press some button on the keyboard Any Suggestions? I'd really appreciate it Thank you....

  Been trying to smooth images loaded with FileReferece with no luck. Am I missing something here? Note: SWFLoaderAdvanced automatically smoothens any image that's loaded inside it. It works perfectly with loaded images other than the ones loaded with FileReference.

  I would like to model the following many to many relationship. Table A ID Field1 Field2 Table B ID Field1 Field2 LinkTable A_ID B_ID Field_I_want_to_ignore As I understand it, if LinkTable.Field_I_want_to_ignore was not present, the Entity Model Designer would automatically create a Many to Many relationship between entity A and entity B. However, because this field exists in the database the designer won't do it for me. I can delete the Field_I_want_to_ignore from the LinkTable Entity that the designer created for me, but how do I eliminate the LinkTable entity altogether and create the many to many relationship I want? I'm not averse to digging through the XML, just at the moment I can't see how to achieve what I want.

  Hey guys, I have a WordPress site for a client. He owns a video store, and I made a site for him to update the list of movies, usually just the "new this week" movies. The Pod has a field where you insert the release date. 2010-04-20 Then there is a Pod page/template combo that calls the movies with a certain release date like this: $date = pods_url_variable('last'); He then just creates a blank WP page with the slug 2010-04-20 So when you open that page, the Pod page/template reads that slug and renders a list of the appropriate movies. My problem: I need these to be searchable. Is this possible. I'm also open to suggestions on other ways to go about making this site work. I need it to be as simple as that. Uploads some movies and creates a new page. Then the rest is done automatically. Please and thank you guys

What do I mean: I have a class foo::bar::bee defined in bee.hpp in following directory structure: foo foo/bar foo/bar/bee.hpp Doxygen, when it documents foo::bar::bee class tells that you need to include <bee.hpp>, but for my software I need <foo/bar/bee.hpp> How can I cause Doxygen to do this? Notes: FULL_PATH_NAMES is already set to default YES I do not want to provide include header explicitly for each class, because there too many of them. I want Doxygen to do this automatically. • How to add request validation errors to ModelStateDictionary in ASP.NET MVC?

  Investigating the security of a system I'm building with ASP.NET MVC 2 led me to discover the request validation feature of ASP.NET - a very neat feature, indeed. But obviously I don't just want to present the users with the Yellow Screen of Death when they enter data with HTML in, so I'm out to find a better solution. My idea is to find all the fields that have invalid data and add them to the ModelStateDictionary before invoking the action such that they automatically appear in the UI as error messages. After googling this a bit it appears that no one have implemented this before which I find puzzling since it seems so obvious. Does anyone here have a suggestion on how to do this? My own idea is to supply a custom ControllerActionInvoker to the controller, as described here, that somehow checks for this and modifies the ModelStateDictionary but I'm stuck on how to do this last bit. Just catching HttpRequestValidationException exceptions does not seem a useful approach since it does not actually contain all the information I need.

  I just found out about BuddyPress (a collection of plugins that convert a WordPress MU install into a social network) and now I was wondering if there are any Digg-like voting plugins for WordPress. This would eventually integrate into a BuddyPress website, where the site members would submit, vote and comment on stories (much like Digg). I have a feeling I will end up having to build this from scratch, but since the site will be built on WordPress, I was wondering if there were any plugins already available that add this functionality. So far I have come up empty in my search. I did find a Wordpress blog that had this functionality WpVote. It even creates thumbnails of the story webpage automatically (I'm assuming) using websnapr. I browsed through the page source and didn't seem to find any hints of a WP plugin that they are using.

• Eclipse code template to insert a bookmark?

  Eclipse has a nifty feature which allows you to define "templates" for code. I have created one to automatically put in a println and add a "TODO" comment. I'd like for this to also add a bookmark so I can easily find it again. (The codebase I am working with makes it unfeasible to use just the Task List to find what I need to do since there are a lot of TODOs laying around.) • Load testing a quicktime streaming server from ubuntu machine

  I have software that can launch and control multiple firefox browsers on Ubuntu EC2 images. I need to run a small load test against a QuickTime Streaming server. The stream starts automatically when loaded in a browser that has the QuickTime plugin, so I don't need to automate the stream once it starts. Alternately, I can also make these machines run arbitrary ruby code or executables. How can I get these ubuntu machines to pull in the stream? Also, how can I capture bandwidth usage (maybe a shell script?) on the worker machines?

• can I override/redefine "global" Javascript functions, like confirm() and alert()?

  I want to do some browser automation, and those pesky confirm/alert boxes are a real pain. Disabling javascript completely in this case is not an option, unfortunately. Well, so I was wondering, can I just change the definition of those methods as seen by my browser's javascript interpreter to basically do nothing and return true? Note that I do know about redefining them in the Javascript code directly, e.g. putting in function alert(message) { return true; } but AFAIK this is not a viable approach for this situation because when doing browser automation I have to work with other people's Javascript. Moreover, my program actually begins manipulating these websites already after the page has fully loaded into the browser, so I cannot just first automatically rewrite the javascript and then load the page. Well, so I was wondering if I could instead just "permanently" modify the way alert/confirm are implemented and executed in my browser. Sort of like the equivalent of dll injection and so forth in the realm of windows apps.

Text="{Binding Path=Description}" /> </DataTemplate> My question is, how do I set the Height of the TextBlock in the template so that it automatically assumes ItemsControl.Height div ItemsCount amount of vertical space? When there's only one item, I'd like it to be the full height of container, when there're two, each should be half the size, and so on. If possible, I'd prefer to do this completely in XAML to keep my ViewModel clean of UI logic.

• Speed up compilation with mockito on Android

  I am currently developing an android app in eclipse using: One project for the app One project for the tests (Instrumentation and Pojo tests) In the test project, I am importing the mockito library for standard POJO testing. However, when I import the library, the compilation time skyrockets from 1 second to about 30 seconds in eclipse. The cause seems to be that the whole library is converted each time. So basically, each time a make a modification that I want to test, I have to wait 30 seconds. The only workarounds that I have found so far would be: Disable "Build Automatically" Create a project that includes only pojo tests and put mockito only there. Use another library that compiles faster (e.g. easymock) Any other suggestion?

  I'd like to develop a portal similar to what a company like OneLogin (http://www.onelogin.com/) has: The user would login with their login credentials then have links to the web resources that their account is associated with. When they see their resources all they need to do is click on them and they'll be automatically login in (SAML authentication). Are there any open source projects out there that have started on this effort?   Hi! I'm running Tomcat inside of Netbeans. I added Tomcat server(not bundled with Netbeans) to Servers in Netbeans. But, when i'm trying to run Tomcat, it starts(i can visit Tomcat home page), but Netbeans can't find it running. Where is the problem? No stacktrace in Tomcat. When i'm deploying my project`s war in this Tomcat manually, everything works, but i need to deploy it automatically from Netbeans. Configuration: Netbeans 6.8 + Tomcat 6.0.26 + JSF and Hibernate project.

  I would like to create a subscription based website with users getting charged every month. I know I have to create an account with paypal or authorize.net. Do these payment providers automatically bill the user every month? How would I take care of offering the service free for 30 days and start billing after that? Also, I've heard of middle men services like spreedly, chargify. Where do they fit into the equation? Can someone help me wrap my head around these concepts? Considering, I am based in the U.S but would like to have the payment provider accept any kind of currency. Which payment provider do you suggest?
