  • C# - Converting a float to an int... and changing the int depending on the remainder

    - by Django Reinhardt
Hi, this is probably the really newbie question (well, I'm pretty sure it is), but I have a float that's being returned and I need a quick and efficient way of turning it into an int. Pretty simple, but I have an exception. If the remainder of the float is anything other than .0 then I want to increment the int. Some quick examples: Float = 98.0, Int = 98 Float = 98.1, Int = 99 Float = 6.6, Int = 7 etc. Thanks for any help!

  • Where does abort() and terminate() "live"?

    - by user325016
Regarding the terminate handler, As i understand it, when something bad happens in code, for example when we dont catch an exception, terminate() is called, which in turn calls abort() set_terminate(my_function) allows us to get terminate() to call a user specified function my_terminate. my question is: where do these functions "live" they don't seem to be a part of the language, but work as if they are present in every single cpp file, without having to include any header file.

  • Is there a way to bypass the jQuery error handler?

    - by oravecz
If my Ajax call returns a successful result, but while processing the result I cause an exception, the error handler fires. This seems counter intuitive to me as I think the error handler should only fire when an error occurs as a result of making the Ajax call or via a server-side error. I am trying to use the Ajax function in a unit test so I would like to tell the difference between the two different failure scenarios.

  • RIM blackberry Record 3GP video

    - by pankaj_shukla
Hi All, I am writing an application that can record a 3GP video. I have tried both MMAPI and Invoke API. But have following issues. Using MMAPI: 1. When I record to stream, It records video in RIMM streaming format. when I try to play this video player gives error "Unsupported media format.". 2. When I record to a file. It will create a file of size 0. Using Invoke API: 1. In MMS mode it does not allow to record a video more than 30 seconds. 2. In Normal mode size of the file is very large. 3. Once I invoke camera application I do not have any control on application. Here is my source code: _player = javax.microedition.media.Manager .createPlayer("capture://video?encoding=video/3gpp&mode=mms"); // I have tried every encoding returns from System.getProperty("video.encodings") method _player.realize(); _videoControl = (VideoControl) _player.getControl("VideoControl"); _recordControl = (RecordControl) _player.getControl("RecordControl"); _volumeControl = (VolumeControl) _player.getControl("VolumeControl"); String videoPath = System.getProperty("fileconn.dir.videos"); if (videoPath == null) { videoPath = "file:///store/home/user/videos/"; } _recordControl.setRecordLocation(videoPath + "RecordedVideo.3gp"); _player.addPlayerListener(this); Field videoField = (Field) _videoControl.initDisplayMode( VideoControl.USE_GUI_PRIMITIVE, "net.rim.device.api.ui.Field"); _videoControl.setVisible(true); add(videoField); _player.start(); ON start menu item Selection: try { _recordControl.startRecord(); } catch (Exception e) { _player.close(); showAlert(e.getClass() + " " + e.getMessage()); } On stop menuItem selection: try { _recordControl.commit(); } catch (Exception e) { _player.close(); showAlert(e.getClass() + " " + e.getMessage()); } Please let me if I am doing something wrong. Thanks, Pankaj

  • How to write a Python 2.6+ script that does gracefully fail with older pyhton?

    - by Sorin Sbarnea
I'm using the new print from Python 3.x and I observed that the following code does not compile due to the end=' '. from __future__ import print_function import sys if sys.hexversion < 0x02060000: raise Exception("py too old") ... print("x",end=" ") # fails to compile with py24 How can I continue using the new syntax but make the script fails nicely? Is it mandatory to call another script and use only safe syntax in this one?

  • Does close ever throw an IOException?

    - by TofuBeer
After providing some answers here, and reading some comments, it would seem that, in practice IOException is never thrown on close for file I/O. Are there any cases in which calling close on a Stream/Reader/Writer actually throws an IOException? If an exception is actually thrown, how should it be dealt with?

  • How to pass non-fatal warnings from a library

    - by wRAR
A library function parses a file and returns an object. If a parser encounters unknown data, missing values etc., it shouldn't throw an exception and stop parsing (because this is not fatal), but there should be a way to pass information about these things to a caller (so that warnings can be displayed in the UI, for example). How can these warning be returned? I'm thinking of passing a callback function/object into the library, are there any other possible solutions?

  • Java return to position N in call stack.

    - by Finbarr
Using the return keyword in Java code will return execution to the last piece of calling code in the call stack. If object foo calls baz.bar(), the return keyword in the bar method will continue code execution in foo. Let's say I have object foo that calls foofoo that calls foofoofoo in the above scenario, and foofoofoo calls baz.bar(). Is there anyway in Java to use the return keyword, or something else, so that the code in the bar method can return all the way back up to foo? (WITHOUT THROWING AN EXCEPTION)

  • [java] reading POST data from html form sent to serversocket.

    - by user32167
i try to write simplest possible server app in Java, displaying html form with textarea input, which after submitting gives me possibility to parse xml typed in thet textarea. For now i build simple serversocket based server like that: import java.io.BufferedReader; import java.io.InputStreamReader; import java.io.PrintWriter; import java.net.ServerSocket; import java.net.Socket; public class WebServer { protected void start() { ServerSocket s; String gets = ""; System.out.println("Start on port 80"); try { // create the main server socket s = new ServerSocket(80); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("Error: " + e); return; } System.out.println("Waiting for connection"); for (;;) { try { // wait for a connection Socket remote = s.accept(); // remote is now the connected socket System.out.println("Connection, sending data."); BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader( remote.getInputStream())); PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(remote.getOutputStream()); String str = "."; while (!str.equals("")) { str = in.readLine(); if (str.contains("GET")){ gets = str; break; } } out.println("HTTP/1.0 200 OK"); out.println("Content-Type: text/html"); out.println(""); // Send the HTML page String method = "get"; out.print("<html><form method="+method+">"); out.print("<textarea name=we></textarea></br>"); out.print("<input type=text name=a><input type=submit></form></html>"); out.println(gets); out.flush(); remote.close(); } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("Error: " + e); } } } public static void main(String args[]) { WebServer ws = new WebServer(); ws.start(); } } After form (textarea with xml and one additional text input) is submitted in 'gets' String-type variable I have Urlencoded values of my variables (also displayed on the screen, it looks like that: gets = GET /?we=%3Cnetwork+ip_addr%3D%2210.0.0.0%2F8%22+save_ip%3D%22true%22%3E%0D%0A%3Csubnet+interf_used%3D%22200%22+name%3D%22lan1%22+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3Csubnet+interf_used%3D%22254%22+name%3D%22lan2%22+%2F%3E%0D%0A%3C%2Fnetwork%3E&a=fooBar HTTP/1.1 What can i do to change GET to POST method (if i simply change it in form and than put " if (str.contains("GET")){" it gives me string like gets = POST / HTTP/1.1 with no variables. And after that, how i can use xml from my textarea field (called 'we')?

  • does code in finally get run after a return in objective-c?

    - by Kevlar
consider the following code: @try { if (something.notvalid) { return; } // do something else } @catch (NSException *ex) { // handle exception } @finally { NSLog(@"finally!"); } if something is not valid and i return from within the try, does the code in @finally execute or not? I believe that it should but others I've spoken to don't think so and i'm unable to test this at the moment.

  • Selenium navigation inside foreach loop

    - by smudgedlens
    I am having an issue with navigation. I get a list of rows from an html table. I iterate over the rows and scrape information from them. But there is also a link on the row that I click to go to more information related to the row to scrape. Then I navigate back to the page with the original table. This works for the first row, but for the subsequent rows, it throws an exception. I look at my row collection after the first time the link inside a row is clicked, and none of them have the correct values like they did before I clicked the link. I believe that there is something going on when I navigate to a different URL that I'm not getting. My code is below. How do I get this working so I can iterate over the parent table, click the links in each row, navigate to the child table, but still continue iterating over the rows in the parent table? private List<Document> getResults() { var documents = new List<Document>(); //Results IWebElement docsTable = this.webDriver.FindElements(By.TagName("table")) .Where(table => table.Text.Contains("Document List")) .FirstOrDefault(); var validDocRowRegex = new Regex(@"^(\d{3}\s+)"); var docRows = docsTable.FindElements(By.TagName("tr")) .Where(row => //It throws an exception with .FindElement() when there isn't one. row.FindElements(By.TagName("td")).FirstOrDefault() != null && //Yeah, I don't get this one either. I negate the match and so it works?? !validDocRowRegex.IsMatch( row.FindElement(By.TagName("td")).Text)) .ToList(); foreach (var docRow in docRows) { //Todo: find out why this is crashing on some documents. var cells = docRow.FindElements(By.TagName("td")); var document = new Document { DocID = Convert.ToInt32(cells.First().Text), PNum = Convert.ToInt32(cells[1].Text), AuthNum = Convert.ToInt32(cells[2].Text) }; //Go to history for the current document. cells.Where(cell => cell.FindElements(By.TagName("a")).FirstOrDefault() != null) .FirstOrDefault().Click(); //Todo: scrape child table. this.webDriver.Navigate().Back(); } return documents; }

  • Writing String into a File

    - by Halo
I'm implementing a WebScript using Alfresco's JavaScript. l'm trying to insert string to a file, but I can't do it. When I write another file's content like: file.properties.content.write(content); It works, and the file's contents are copied into my file. But I can't insert string directly, like: file.properties.content.write("Stuff like that"); it gives an exception. How can I write string into this file?
