• XML RSS to HTML parser doesn't work

  I'm using MCX (I don't even know if someone here is familiar with it, pretty unkown derivate of COBOL and Fortran, look it up in google when you don't believe me) Note: I'm using MCX on the MCX-WebServices server as it does neither support apache or ISS, mabye that is one problem. The thing is that I want to use the XML library to read in an XML file and convert it into an output format readable by the user. • Counting multiple entries in a MySQL database?

  Hi all, I'm trying to count multiple entries in a MySQL database, I know how to use COUNT(), but the exact syntax I want to get the results I need eludes me. The problem: Table structure: ID, CODE, AUTHOR, COUNTRY, TIMESTAMP. Code, Author and Country overlap many times in the table. I am trying to discover if there is one simple query that can be ran to return (using WHERE clause on COUNTRY) the author field, the code field, and then a final field that counts the number of times the CODE was present in the query result. So, theoretically I could end up with an array like: array('author', 'code', 'codeAppearsNTimes'); Authors also have varying codes associated with them, so I don't want the results merged. I suppose the end result would be: 'This author is associated with this code this many times'. Is this possible with MySQL? Thanks in advance.

• Positioning element under another

  I am not an expert web-dev so please bear with me here. I would like to display a banner style header for a page with the top part taken up by an image that is 275x116 and then a horizontal menu bar (styled using ul items) appearing at 70% from the top of the banner. How would I set this up so that the banner appears underneath my navigation? Is there an easier way to do this than to create a custom "inserter" iterator? such that I could do something like: std::set<Id> resultSet; set_difference( idToStringMap.begin(), idToStringMap.end(), idToDoubleMap.begin(), idToDoubleMap.end(), resultSet.begin() ); My experimentation results imply that it will be necessary to create a custom inserter and perhaps a custom key comparer to do this, but I want for some insight/shortcut before doing so.

• How do you control what your C compiler Optimizes?

  I am writing the firmware for an embedded device in C using the Silicon Labs IDE and the SDCC compiler. The device architecture is based on the 8051 family. The function in question is shown below. The function is used to set the ports on my MCU to drive a stepper motor. It gets called in by an interrupt handler. The big switch statement just sets the ports to the proper value for the next motor step. The bottom part of the function looks at an input from a hall effect sensor and a number of steps moved in order to detect if the motor has stalled. The problem is, for some reason the second IF statement that looks like this if (StallDetector > (GapSize + 20)) { HandleStallEvent(); } always seems to get optimized out. If I try to put a breakpoint at the HandleStallEvent() call the IDE gives me a message saying "No Address Correlation to this line number". I am not really good enough at reading assembly to tell what it is doing but I have pasted a snippet from the asm output below. • why cant I more than two values from 3 different tables in one query

  This is strange. In the news details page, I want to take a few different values from different tables with one query. However, for some strange reason, I only get two values back.   Hello again, I have a UINavigationController that asks for some information and the user navigates until the end, once there, they can Accept or Cancel all the data that has been entered. It doesn't matter wich option they choose, as they always will go to the first view using [UINavigationController popToRootViewControllerAnimated:] The question is, how I can release/deallocate all the views ? For example, they start for view 1 and the end is at view 8, once they go directly to the 1 from the 8, how I can release view 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 ? thanks, regards, m.

• alias_attribute and creating and method with the original attribute name causes a loop

  Im trying to dynamically create a method chain in one attribute in my model. By now I have this function: def create_filtered_attribute(attribute_name) alias_attribute "#{attribute_name}_without_filter", attribute_name define_method "#{attribute_name}" do filter_words(self.send("#{attribute_name}_without_filter")) end end so I receive a string with the attribute name, alias it for '*_without_filter*' (alias_method or alias_method_chain fails here, because the attribute isnt there when the class is created), and I create a new method with the attribute name, where I filter its contents. But somehow, when I call *"#{attribute_name}_without_filter"* it calls my new method (i think because the alias_attribute some how), and the program goes into a stack loop. Can someone please enlighten me on this.

• cuda/thrust: Trying to sort_by_key 2.8GB of data in 6GB of gpu RAM throws bad_alloc

  I have just started using thrust and one of the biggest issues I have so far is that there seems to be no documentation as to how much memory operations require. Is there a difference? I know that the first one is dangerous because if I pass in an empty vector, then myvec.end() - 1 is undefined, but are there any other hazards or inefficiencies with this?

  Hi, I need to programmatically override the following events of a worksheet: BeforeDoubleClick SelectionChange BeforeRightClick I have been able to override the OnActivate event using the following code: sheet.OnSheetActivate = "MyOwn_Activate" Private Sub MyOwn_Activate() myForm.Show End Sub I have implemented BeforeDoubleClick on similar lines: sheet.OnDoubleClick = "My_BeforeDoubleClick" Private Sub My_BeforeDoubleClick(ByVal Target As Range, Cancel As Boolean) ... End Sub However, an 'argument not optional' error is thrown at run-time when user double clicks a cell on the sheet. Can someone please suggest how should I pass the paramters? In addition, I am not able to find event names for SelectionChange & BeforeRightClick. I tried: sheet.BeforeRightClick = "My_BeforeRightClick" sheet.SelectionChange = "My_SelectionChange" But, both the above lines do not work. Any help/ suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)
