  • Detection screen disconnection in linux

    Hey Guys We have a nasty little problem. In short we can detect if a screen is connect when x11 boots (we do this by looking at the log - Xorg.0.log), but we are having trouble detect when are screen is disconnected while the machine is running (ie post x11 boot) Any one have any ideas? Cheers

    When i export WebProject (Struts Portlet) as war from RAD 7.5 it creates war, but that war file does not have my Class files. ie. Action Classes, Actionforms, validations, etc. none of the .java files class added in war. what is the issue. urgent

  • Should I be using Windows Live Mail or Outlook?

    I have been using Windows Live Mail now for a few years, and like the interface, ect ect. Just having a clear out of my domains emails, and think I should set up the other accounts properly. I have Outlook (using 2010 beta), so I thought maybe I should use it? Can anyone give me reasons for and against both bits of software? I did look for some comparisons between the two, but can't find much. Plus I always value up to date information. Bit more background: Using 1 Hotmail and 5 IMAP accounts (possibly more). Use a Windows Mobile. Any way I can sync the calendar and tasks OTA to my hotmail and back down to outlook? I know this is probably more a discussion question (sorry), but I would argue that it can be answered, as it is a question relating to what I myself, in my circumstances would be best.   • How to avoid strange characters before the request in firefox?

    Hi, on a website i'm currently developing I'm using jquery to do all sort of magic things :-) In firefox however, when I load jquery 1.4.2 there are sometimes funny characters in front of the request. You can see the strangers characters in this screenshot (thank you firebug). In safari, Chrome and IE these funny characters don't appear, jquery is loading fine in those browsers. Why are those characters appearing and how can I remove them? Thanks!!

  • Why Windows Media Center (Vista 32-bit) unable to record TV Series?

    I can record individual shows just fine, but trying to setup the recording of a Series throws an error (something like, "unable to schedule, try restarting Media Center", pops up in the bottom right of the screen). Trying to access the "Other Showings" menu causes Media Center to crash ("check for a solution online" dialog comes up). The machine is a fresh reinstall of 32-bit Windows Vista from the HP recovery CDs, plus all Microsoft updates and service packs. Hardware: HP s3220n, AMD X2 5000+, 2GB RAM, 300GB free space on disk. Media Center came bundled. The "Media Center update for Vista" failed to install (it says, not appropriate for my computer). Any ideas? Thanks

    Im just wondering how i use xmlencoder to serialize ArrayList where foo is my own made class. Do i have to do anything in particular, ie define my own xml structure first and then call toString on each value in my list and write it out? Can anyone point me to a good tutorial? http://java.sun.com/products/jfc/tsc/articles/persistence4/ Thats what i have been looking at but it doesnt seem to mention what to do with non library classes.   • Unknown margin being added to a footer in IE6 + 7

    So yeah, like I said, I've spent a few hours trying to fix this bug in the footer that add's an extra 20-30px on to the bottom of the page in IE6 and 7. I've currently set all bottom margins to 0 so as to find what's causing it, I then scoured ie developer tools but came up empty.   • What lightweight solution can you recommend to stream MP3 files?

    Hi there, I need to stream MP3 files to a client running Flash. Streaming is the key here, no progressive downloads allowed. What free server can you recommend? I know Red5 but it seems a bit overkill for our needs (basic MP3 streaming). Anything more lightweight? Our Webserver runs Linux and Apache and we can install stuff there as long as it doesn't bog down the machine. Plus there is Perl and PHP although I don't think this will help for streaming, right? Thank you!

  • WindowsXP+7 on C:/D: :moving the System Partition

    I had installed Windows 7 on a separate 20gig partition, and I'm absolutely loving it! Plus I can now dual-boot, with my original WinXP residing on the C: drive. But I'm running out of disk space on D:, and I was able to shrink C: and expand D:. But now I would like to make D: not just a Boot Partition, but an Active System Partition, without losing my ability to boot into Windows 7 (since it was created on a separate D: partition, not the current Active System C: Partition). Any advice?

    I am looking to be able to launch a network file on our local intranet using FF or Chrome Currently the link work good in IE <a href="\\Start\Of\My\Network\file.xlsx">View Report</a>&nbsp; but in FF it show <a href="http://mydomain.com/\\Start\Of\My\Network\file.xlsx">View Report</a>&nbsp; is there a way to get the link to render properly...Just a simple click from a href tag.

  • Why isnt int pow(int base, int exponent) in the standard C++ libraries?

    I feel like I must just be unable to find it. Is there any reason that the c++ pow function does not implement the "power" function for anything except floats and doubles? I know the implementation is trivial, I just feel like I'm doing work that should be in a standard library. A robust power function (ie handles overflow in some consistent, explicit way) is not fun to write.

  • Bind to Count of items in the DataContext

    I want to bind to the Count/amount of items within my DataContext. I have an object, lets say person which has a List<address> as a property. I would like to display the amount of addresses for that person ie: 5 or 6 or whatever the case may be. I've tried {Binding Path=address#.Count} and a few others but that doesnt seem to work.
